Been reading as many threads as I can here and I think the community is awesome.

The reason I am posting my kernel is that I am overseas and ordering parts is a hassle. If anyone can help me confirm the problem i am seeing, it would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know how to condense the text of the kernel and I apologize for that.

It seems like the fan is shot. I am not sure if the controller is too. I cleaned the fans, changed to two different firmware versions and still no hashing. If anyone can help, thanks!

EDIT: Fixed the post, my eyes were too sleepy..   Embarrassed

Fan [5] is a faulty fan and it is connected to the FAN5 connector in the control board.

Fan [4] is in okay condition and it is connected to the FAN4 connector in the control board.

You can try to swap the fan connectors.

If you get the same result when the faulty fan is connected to the FAN4 connector,
then it is very simple. You have a faulty fan and you need to replace it with a new one, Delta QFR1212GHE is a good one.

Thanks for the help!

Just to be sure: I’d have to replace the connectors to opposite sockets and not the fan locations correct?

I’ll give it a shot and if it doesn’t work I’ll definitely try the fans you suggested.

Also, if you have a multimeter try to check the fan terminal if it gives you enough voltage supply from the control board it should give around 12v.

If the result in multimeter gives you lower than the 12v your problem might power supply or there is shorted part in the control board cleaning it might solve the issue.

I think you mean the exact opposite ?

anyhow, even 4560 rpm is a bit low , i am not sure what version is this, but most of my S9's fans do over 5000 rpm intake  , 6000 rpm exhaust ( or maybe the opposite, can't recall / doesn't matter ) 4560 rpms might be good enough for the miner to start hashing, but in extreme conditions it may not be enough, my recommendation would be getting 2 fans, the once HagssFIN recommended are excellent.

also make sure you place the fan to blow in the right direction or else they won't be able to spin at high rpms.

I switched the fans out and it worked! I have two fans on order for now and I’ll replace them as soon as they are back.

I bought an automatic multimeter and it kept decreasing in voltage. Couldn’t figure out what’s up. Also couldn’t figure out if there’s an issue with the PSU.

I appreciate the support.

The faulty fan could be dropping the voltage at your measure point if it keeps jamming totally/partially
