Any year, Bitcoin is always expensive and dollar is what gives it the value. Which means, without dollars or Fiat money, Bitcoin would not be valuable. So when Bitcoin increases, it is dollar that we are looking for on how much 1 BTC would be.

My thoughts are that given the huge volatility of bitcoin and the fact that over a long period of time we have had orders-of-magnitude level changes, then a straight linear price chart will tend to just show the most recent price variations, with anything historic effectively smeared to a flat line. So if you want a better indicator of the trend, I'd say switch the chart to log view, as below.

My conclusion from that would be that we are moving upwards, and that price variations tend to be cyclic within that overall upwards trend. So good news, people, hold onto your bitcoin and buckle up for the ride ahead!

Honestly I think bitcoin is just too young for such price analysis to accurately reflect and predict the market dynamics. Most huge volumes are just whales moving around their money. regular traders and users barely make a blip on the market charts

I think it's more so that people ruin their own savings by not allocating a portion of it to different (more promising) assets. Everyone by now knows that fiat only loses purchasing power, but not everyone hedges against it.

I'm not sure if it's mainly ignorance or just the average people being very risk averse, but it's quite shocking how they let it happen and watch their savings (they worked their entire life for) depreciate a percentage or two annually.

This year will be a bit different than the last year. Normally, the lows are a lot higher than the previous year because the highs and lows happens during the middle of the year, this year the peak was at 2017 December and then it all went down from that hitting as low as 3.2k on November/December levels and then hit 3.4k but than the new year started.

So, because of the bad timing the 2018 low will be 3.2k as far as I know and the 2019 low will be 3.4k but since we are going up now the 2020 low will be a lot higher probably as long as it doesn't fall once again. That is why even the yearly lows are not showing how much bitcoin usually goes up every single year if you take the yearly price average and see how much it was most of the time during that year then we can talk about how much it goes up every year.

Yearly low is a good understanding of how it always goes up but it is missing the main point of how it also goes up every year as well. I mean the price is going up for sure but at what cost exactly? Are we really willing to go to 20 thousand dollars and back to 4 thousand dollars again for example? If you were given a switch and make bitcoin go 20 and then drop to 4 would you take it?

I've noticed it years ago but I wasn't looking at the lows but at the highs. Watching the charts made me realize that if you buy bitcoin when it's going down no matter from where you will always make profit within a year or two.

 If you saw bitcoin going down after the 2013 bubble and bought at the first sign of slowing down in the first dead cat bounce somewhere around 500 dollars you could make a lot of money in the same year 6 months later when it was trading at over 650. If you didn't and just held you only had to wait for 2 years to profit. If you bought at 10 thousand or above you will still profit after 2 years. Yes, I have seen this clearly. but we should not compare it at a time when no one knows it. Because when the market has only a few hundred people, manipulating the price to double is an easy task. But when our market has grown as it is now, we should compare it in years. The last 2018 was a huge failure for many investors and it created wealth for a few people.

The lows for every year is always above what it was in the past years. Just take 2016 to 2018 as an example. In 2016 the lowest price of bitcoin was around $600 and in 2017 was around $800 before the bull run that took the price to almost $20,000 and it then dropped in 2018 to a lowest of $6000 which is way above that of 2016 and 2017. Though this year was different, Lowest this year was $3,300 before this uptrend that we are seeing now. So the lowest price for every year is likely to be above the lowest for the previous, but still if you invest at the wrong time you're still losing, doesn't  change anything.

People didn't believe in the price to break the $6000 mark either this year, but it still did. This market doesn't care about anyone's opinion or prediction--the price has always gone up and down when people didn't expect it.

The yearly lows gets bigger as the years goes by. The lowest in this year is not going to be the same lowest as we had in the last two years and so on. But that's not benefiting anyone in any way unless you're one of those that invested in the earlier time and have hodl till now, cause you know that even if drops you will still have some thousands of profits left. Just like I am ready to hold mine through thick and thin too till bitcoin probably turn to 1 million dollars. You know in cryptocurrency world, we keep learning new thing on a daily basis, My initial mentally was that when the supply of some of these coins get exhausted, their value growth will became static, but I guess I was wrong, I was shocked to see that circulating supply of Monero is equal to its total supply, which mean the supply has become limited, but yet, the value is still growing.

I meant that bitcoin does not have any physical existence. Although some collectibles are available for physcial bitcoins, they are just idols to load your crypto in them, not like fiat which is prone to wear and tear because it uses a physical media like coins and notes.

That video is wrong. In 2014 Bitcoin was never under $100. It was actually never under $300.

Indeed, based on the history of the year we can clearly see that the lowest point of bitcoin always goes up, but not for the highest price, when bearish prices are many old users who state that "the lowest value always rises" so that users do not panic. This proves that bitcoin investment is the best long-term investment? I don't think so, why are users always afraid when the value goes down, the main key of investment is management and information

But that doesn't mean that buy bitcoin will instantly give you profit in the short time. The best way is by using dollar cost averaging strategy and hold bitcoin for long term. If we choose this kind of strategy means thats we will become contrarian investors who only buy bitcoin when the price fall.

Bitcoin can actually give an instant result in a short term, but that will be through trading, if the holder knows how to trade with it, there are so many people that are getting profit from bitcoin on a daily, weekly and monthly basis, especially now that the market is already in uptrend, there is enough room now for people who are skillful in trade to make money in a short term, but for those who does not know how to trade or not willing to go into trading, long term investment is still the best bet and that is only when they can start talking of profit when the price of bitcoin start going on bull run.

I believe that people that invested when the market was dip and has held their coin for long would already be counting their profit by now, while a trader who knows how to trade has been counting their profit from the time of bear market too. This proves that bitcoin as an investment is a good option for those who are willing to put their money in it. If the lowest prices rises then it only becomes more difficult for people to enter at a lower price than you. Of course this is not perfectly correct, because a big dump below the price you buy at can happen any time.

But if you patient enough and know that the future support of bitcoin is very likely from all big whales then you should be assured of an uptrend.

When the price falls drop, a lot of investors will take that as a good opportunity to buy again, then the price makes a positive change that may trigger another ATH.

We don't know really what is the true movement of Btc, we just based our strategies on the changes that are happening. All we know is that there will always be these investors that will take advantage of the price dumps and that is the reason why Bitcoin will never be that crypto that dies quickly and the reason why there is always a chance for a new ATH to come up, and more profits.

It does prove bitcoin as a good investment if you get in the right time, it still doesn't make a difference to people who bought at 20 thousand dollars. Do not forget that in order to have an all time high it means someone has to buy from the top, if it was 20 thousand dollars there needs to be someone who bought at 20 thousand dollars to make that price.

Now, of course with time that will be reached, maybe in a month, maybe in a decade who knows but it will be reached, bitcoin is against inflation of dollar which is a good race because the more inflation goes up the higher price of bitcoin will be and that is why with years it will only go up but if you bought from the peak prices then you would have to wait. Same happened with people who bought from 1400 dollars back in the day, they finally made their money back but it took a good while before they reached there.

I don't think that yearly lows are enough ,yearly highs are very important too but yearly lows basically show us that bitcoin never really goes down as a whole thanks to the 2018 and 2017 differences we can see that. Yes in 2017 it went up a lot and than in 2018 it went down a lot as well but when you look at the yearly lows you can see that if you didn't join the bitcoin community during November-December of 2017 but earlier you could have profited even from that.

I remember vividly that I cashed out 3 bitcoins at 10 thousand dollars that year, if I have waited I could have cashed out on 60 thousand dollars at the max but I felt like 10 thousand dollars for 3 bitcoin was already huge, as you can see I was "profiting" on something that I could have profited even more. Dont put that "I could have made more" thought, it makes you go mad. In any trading of speculative assets its important to enter at the right time and also exit at the right time. Exit a few points early is better than losing out because it crashed by them and you missed the selling point. Though crypto exchanges allow you to place orders for unlimited mount of time so you wont miss, but make you orders realistic, which I think you did nicely.

I feel that anyone who thinks that they missed the train, is wrong because the prices will come down again and in future you will get your opportunity, so people should stop whining about "when moon" and so on.

That video is wrong. In 2014 Bitcoin was never under $100. It was actually never under $300.

What does it matter if the video is wrong or not, the message that is needed to be passed has been passed, bitcoin is always higher in a particular given year than the previous year, even if bitcoin was at $300 in 2014, but 2015 was far higher than that and so as other years until bear market creeped in, and now that the bear market is over, same thing will still happen as we can already see that this year is already greater than last year and even if the market will have a deep correction, there is no way that it can be as low as the previous year.

The growth of bitcoin has always been wonderful and I am sure that by next year ending, we will be having another beautiful record of bitcoin value that will be higher than this year because I do not foresee any bear market for now.
