Author Topic: win7 black screen after flashing 280x  (Read 1066 times)

hello , i hope this is the right subform for this question i could not find a better one

i just wondering if any of you guys encounter this problem before i got a new MSI 280x and flash it with latest bios and after that it won't boot in windows normal mode unless i unistall the driver or in safe mode otherwise the screen turn black

same thing if i start linux X server .

i reflash to the old bios and did not work , same problem ...

thanks alot for your reply pickaxepete , i tried all that and still have same problem first  thing i did was using DDU when i had the problem , i also tried 3 dif MOBOs and non of them worked , i don't really know what to do next . i don't think msi will accept my RMA request since i don't live in the US .

Did you flip the BIOS switch on the card to use the backup BIOS?

yup i did try both bioses , non is working now

Well it's not the BIOS that's the problem if you flipped the switch and it's not working on the other BIOS.  The card must have just fried by coincidence, or you've damaged it some way unplugging and plugging it.

RMA time.

Edit: Why did you flash the BIOS anyway?  I run a MSI 280X and I didn't flash the BIOS, and it's mining like a champ at 715kH.
