hello good people[and bad people] of btcTALK!

When i choose a cryptocurrency to trade or an ICO to invest in, i use math to determine my profitibilility  Notice that isn't a real-ish word? That's because at the end of the day, I'm a speculator. kind of like weather men. right now, hype is in my equation; 20%.

For example; I am in a telegram X channel just watching the market be manipulated, and a few people may mention EVX  mooning, or EVX dumping. You know the drill. So I go over to Binance, do my little math. marketability + creators credit score + ......wait for it.... HYPE!  I learned very hard lessons from falling for the hype. I can understand over excitement about this new 60 second meal in a can, can cause. Don't endulge unless you can afford it.BTC. I'm not a professional. Clearly.

Anybody else got a good way to keep yourself hype humble?

Well, maybe we just don't listen to those hypes floating and being promoted all around us. I guess there will always be hypes and we can never avoid them as long as we connect with other people in this industry. The only way to not encounter any hype is to disconnect ourselves online and from this industry. We can deal with hypes by knowing better so we can never be swayed to act according to baseless assumptions by some people. However, wwe should also recognize that a percentage of the market of any cryptocurrency is based or pulled by hypes...and in many cases hypes actually add more excitement to the platform.

hype is not something that you can measure specially from what you see on the internet because most of the places (specially the shitty telegram groups filled with newbies and pumpers) are filled with a ton of spam from bag holders who wish their coins were going up so they could get their capital out with little loss after getting dumped on themselves.

the only thing that matters is what is actually happening in the market which can be seen on the charts (both price and volume movement).

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.
Whales are those who keep buying the dip.

Best thing to do is not to listen to those hypes. Almost all telegram groups, which are meant for pump are shitty groups and are created to Scam you, I have been added to them automatically more than once, it is better to avoid and delete them. Believe in actual facts and always calculate the figures, do your research first. Maths does not work always.

ok maybe i asked the question the wrong way.

hype=1.
extravagant or intensive publicity or promotion.
1.
promote or publicize (a product or idea) intensively, often exaggerating its importance or benefits.

Hype comes with every single project. If there was no hype, the things would be pretty flat and uninteresting. In a sense.

It is up to you to judge how you want to use that hype. But no matter what it will always be there.

I need better answers please. And dismiss my account specs, i was buying btc at 65USD. So I've been doing this for a while [humbly]

..I think hype gives some factor on a certain altcoin to increase or decrease its value and it is unevitable..just my opinion,,better not to listen or engage on the hype that you think will going to bother you in your investments,,just stick to the fact and believe what you have dream and don't believe humors by other people that you think worthless and might not help you..

Pretty much I keep my hype at bay by simply looking at the detail of the subject.  Weighing in the pros and cons, the fundamentals, the chart history and the current activity of the dev by looking at the commit on their github, reviews and possible shilling of any media streamers on the internet.  I also look at the possible reason of the increase and the upcoming news of the subject.

ok maybe i asked the question the wrong way.

You must have given your source on the quoted line. else you would be facing the wrath of plagiarism.

It is up to you to judge how you want to use that hype. But no matter what it will always be there.

Often times too much hype to the point of shilling the project does not ends up well because it will be overbought and later be dumped massively due to the disappointment since it was exaggerated.  It maybe good to the pioneers but would be devastating to the next buyer if it turned out that the news were all exaggeration.

I only find hype as confusing and deceiving. Just observe the market yourself but don't rely your decisions on the hype.
The hype wouldn't define the future of a project and sometimes, it's just a result of different manipulations.
Just be calm at times and wait for the best value.

i think anybody who has ever been on a bitcoin related forum and also have tried trading has already fallen for the hype one way or another. it is impossible to avoid it when as soon as you open this forum (specially altcoin board) or reddit you are bombarded with lots of shitcoin advertisements. the only indication this gives is that the owners of these shitcoins have a lot of money to advertise nothing else. the coin may not even be rising, they are just desperate to force it to rise.

Lol... Math  Cheesy

That's a good one. So how has math been treating you in BitcoinLand?

Anyways, my hype level is dropping like a rock. Which is kind-of where I expect crypto to trend for the rest of 2019.

There is still a shake-out happening. Until I see DOGE make some serious moves - this is just a fake out.

Don't fall for the hype. There were just positive speculations just so the coin would look appealing for investors. There will always be positive reviews and hype about a certain coin but not everything you see and read is reliable. You should be keen and observant.

Hype is like a double-edged sword. When there is a lot of hype being made over a coin especially if it's a new coin then lots of people are going to start buying that coin because they see how popular it is. Obviously the price is going up continuously as long as the hype continues but the problem is when it stops. When the hype made over a coin stops people stop being interested in that coin and start selling more and more because price is collapsing.

It's also very important to observe what kind of hype it's being made because it could be hype created by the people themselves when a new coin that is considered to be great is launched or it could be ''fake'' hype created by the developer through spamming with advertisemens to pump up the price of their coin.

Just a simple way .....
Ignore people comments if they type out of topic. But my experience, not at all can be classified as scam if you want to check it one by one.
And i am sure, it takes a long time. But if you have more time, it doesn't hurt. Everything is up to you.

Hyping any coins or product is nothing met with the success.

If you want to invest on any project please do not go behind the hyped project, that will never help for long term or after that token listed on the exchanges.
Telegram, forum, blog and reddit hypes are working like service by certain people or directly from the site or application. We need to be careful on these things.

Hype?
Hm, I don't think too serious with some news in out there because my sources are only what is happening in the market.
So when there is a hype in out there, I don't think too much about it, and I will need directly to watch in the market and make my own analysis.
Sometimes they only want to make people panic because of the news that they spread in the website or telegram channels, so people will think that will happen in a few hours later.
That will move the market to anywhere, and no one can predict.
But if you can watch and analyze the market, I am sure that you can get something as your guide so you can decide the next step that you should do.

If you’re comfortable with math and computations, you can use it for your investment so i think it will really depend on you. For me, i don’t need to solve any problems, to compute for more probability because I just buy low and sell high, its simple yet more safest and profitable move.

well the math is pretty much the same as buy low sell high . math is more like a blanket word for the way you figure out how to trade and make money. it took me years to learn how to trade and make money on purpose. buy low sell high is very simple, as long as you are waiting for the dip or have some way to know when the dip is coming. math. right?

actually , its working. because i have found a method to earn on purpose. i wish some people would of taken this post a little different.  taking the hype as a scam as some have stated, understandable. but very ....ignorant. sorry i hate that word. to me a commercial is hype, business cards, telegram announcements, people that come on here to announce there coin or wallet=hype. i mean if you can deal with calling it that. we can call it advertising. but hype is advertisement with a boost of sorts.

so as far as me using hype=20%. if i can explain it another way. if i find my self 80% into a project. every thing looks good. the owners have good checks. everything is traceable and in line for an investor to come along and say wow that is great i cant believe we are going to make a zilliion dollars says your chart and the pen and coozie look so professional!! and then you calm down a bit and double check everything and make sure you aren't going to make a mistake you can't fix....that was hype.....and i think flavor flav is there . the original hypeman. I'm just here to discuss what i feel is important and i hope to only bring up good discussion and help the cause welove. and if you find yourself not understand, or I am just destroying the English language too much and you want me to clean it up lay it out. i will. but i'm not in a jam. my earnings are positive. I have my wallets backed up. so no reason for me to come in at 200 mph hot.
