Does any country use blockchain for election or voting? I know there are many countries who afraid of implementing blockchain into its sytem because then everything will be clear. If voting systems are created on the basis of blockchain technologies, then it is possible and possible to obtain reliable voting results without falsification. It would be interesting to participate in the elections via the online voting platform.

The only place were I've heard something about Blockchain voting is in a TV series called ,, Billions'' where a governor wanted to implement this so that vote can't be manipulated anymore. I've never seen or read any news I'm the real life about a country thinking about implementing Blockchain in their election system and that's probably because most governments are corrupt and they know if that gets approved they can't manipulate the voting system anymore in their favor.

As i know no, there is not any country who use blockchain for voting, maybe only if governments will see how blockchain works will make this possible on future if they want.

So far I have never heard any country who implemented the blockchain technology in their electoral process. Actually, this is one of the best areas that the blockchain technology can help but of course I doubt if many countries will adopt this within the next decade as transparency in practice is something that they don't want to happen. One day, though, am sure that this can be the standard in all elections as more and more people are clamoring and demanding a better system where their voice can be heard and counted correctly with almost nil opportunity of intrusion and hacking. Let's hope some big organizations can adopt a blockchain-supported election system so that we can see it in action.

I guess I have seen an article about blockchain voting and apparently I don't know which country but I think it is possible to have such thing may happen to apply for voting, And even though I don't see any proof that it can be possible I guess this article is a great explanation in how they can do it, And as the election now in the Philippines has been settled peacefully I have seen a video that may push blockchain technology on the next election, Well it is still in progress but I guess this can be another good sign for our crypto community and the security of cheats on voting here in the Philippines.

because government elections only occur 1 day every 4-5 years. governments dont really have many chances to actually use blockchains for real.

governments are researching blockchains and other distributed ledger technologies(DLT: centralised blockchains) but they are still working on the main issue of how to disperse out the tokens used for a vote. as thats the stumbling point.

counting/auditing th votes is easy. but its getting the vote out to the population where people cant just for instance:
sell their private keys on blackmarkets to activists groups that buy votes.
someone accesses a relatives phone to steal their vote

its why although annoying, polling stations exist instead of just having everyone use a phone app. because physically turning up is a psychological tactic to vote scammers for not wanting to be caught double voting

yes there is technology available  to identify people and only accredit one-vote-one-face. but generally people are against needing to identify themselves when voting.
but as i said its not the blockchain part thats the stumbling point, but the distribution of votes ethically

I DO NOT TRADE OR ACT AS ESCROW ON THIS FORUM EVER.
Please do your own research & respect what is written here as both opinion & information gleaned from experience. many people replying with insults but no on-topic content substance, automatically are 'facepalmed' and yawned at

I once got a news flash that blockchain voting was tested in Sierra Leone, I doubt it was later use. This should be implemented in Nigeria whose leaders are known for notoriously rigging election, this will bring fast development to a country so blessed with natural resources and brilliant men and women but been plagued by few election riggers.

We had a good discussions on this thread, Blockchain technology in election polls. So I urge you to look at that thread and lock this one if possible, thanks.

Some countries have already run trials, it is a delicate subject and blockchain technology as any other new technology must be tested and since voting doesn't happen that often, I believe it will take some time before we see it as a reality. Check these articles about the trial in Switzerland and the plans in Japan to do so:

In practice, the main issue will be the proof of identity, because even when the national id number can be use to identify the voter in the blockchain, there is no guarantee it will be used by the real citizen. If polls happen in a typical way, going to a physical place, then a standard procedure may be used to id a person, representative will check the official valid ID and then the voter can scan it in a device and vote on a screen instead of paper; if the polls are run on devices, such as personal computers or smartphones, some sort of biometrics recognition system must be used.

And then there is the politicians will... I believe all of them cheat, so, to authorize this technology is like shooting in their own foot.

Exactly. Even if such a system were to become successful at some point in the future, why in the world would politicians want to harm their own profits by legalizing something like this? It just doesn't make any sense.

They are manipulating the current systems already which is why a blockchain based voting system will never see the light unless the politicians are actually not corrupt which is impossible in my opinion.

I agree with the statement that electronic voting would then be more secure if we use the blockchain's capabilities. But do not forget that most people are not familiar with these technologies. Of course, if you use training platforms like taklimakan to start training people in the country, you can achieve a smooth transition to a fully e-government. But for this you need the very policy of the country to make it so that it is benevolent to cryptocurrency and blockchain

The lack of education in the field of application of new technologies in my opinion is the biggest problem. And if we do not begin to change the educational system in the direction of modern requirements, we will continue to go to the polls with leaflets, and the teenagers will continue to evade their duties to vote.

I haven't heard of any country who have used or involved blockchain in their election. The government will surely not allow it. In our country, we're still doing elections the usual and old way without any electronic device involved to avoid cheating.

So far, it seems that no country has implemented blockchain elections. Yes, although in my opinion this is a pretty good innovation, the lack of understanding among the public is a limitation for the government to implement this electoral system.

I don't think we're not ready for that yet. Even the 51% attack problem could not be solved. I think it needs to be more widespread first.

But there is a project about it. I'm sure you've heard of Ncash in Binance. One period had experienced major problems. One of the next stages of this project was the democratic elections to be held in the countries.

The Philippines is a leader in using the Blockchain platform to vote. Using the Blockchain platform restricts fraudulent censorship checks, and everyone in the country can check the number of votes they have chosen. Blockchain reduces censorship time and votes statistics for each participant. Many countries will use Blockchain to vote.

So far, I haven't heard a country that's looking to try blockchain for their election. Someone quoted above that there's already some that are testing it.

But if the gov't is corrupt and understands that blockchain will make the election transparent, what do you think they'll do?

Firstly, I don't know any countries that implement blockchain technology in their voting system and they still prefer bad companies like Smartmatic. And there are a lot of problems when it comes to the voting system of our country. They say that blockchain can stop tampering of information but it won't solve problems. But I think blockchain can lessen some of the big problems in these voting systems.

Ikr. Especially when that company was funded from the dirty money and deals Chavez made in Venezuela.

I mean, it just showed into my head. Why are we still going towards a place to vote, when it can easily be done at home with the right technology and right security?

Is it too crazy to think that if the world is advancing, politics should advance too? - Blockchain could definitely change everything in that aspect.
