The problem is Mark is targeting those newbies, and he really desire to introduce his own versions of crypto where anonymity loses its essence. Like with issues how Facebook leaks user's information, it's not new that this new project might also have the same concern in the future.

Rumours have it that facebook will officially announce the launch of GLOBALCOIN by next month, no one knows if it's true or not. Well, it's certain that there is plan for that coin already, it's going to be a stable coin. They also leaked it will be used to pay their workers who accept that option.

I think the main utility of the coin would probably be paying facebook for stuff. I mean it could be earned as well or it could be bought we don't know that part yet but the main utility should be something like pay facebook with globalcoin for advertisement spot and you get a cheaper ad instead of paying with us dollars and they get to pay less taxes since they don't have to show it as profit since they are giving it to you and you give it back to them.

I don't know how the accounting of it will be done but in the end I am sure facebook wouldn't do it if they didn't had any profits in this. They are going to make you use it for all they charge you normally and you will pay them with globalcoin whereas they won't pay taxes with it.

Globalcoin could be a lot of things but first we need to know where it will be used. If they want to create a coin to get rid of the accounting mess of working with 200+ countries then the reality is that people will be using it for facebook only. However, if it is to create a coin to really dominate the technology world and create another source of income then it may have some troubles. If facebook company wants to be paid in globalcoin for facebook ads, instagram ads and whatever else they are getting paid for is then they will be paid in one currency (globalcoin) instead of a million different ones which is fine and I would love to use it and buy it because there is a utility and it will be constantly purchased by people which will increase the price.

That is actually a milestone in the world of cryptocurrency. Considering how large a company facebook is, its surprising that they are interested in crypto. I think its a great develop in cryptocurrency in general. When this happens, it might attract more huge companies out there to make and introduce their own crypto. Even if Facebook coins will be like tether, people will definitely prefer Libra coins because they are backed up by real assets and big companies. If Libra Coin is a stable coin it will be a competitor for Tether or other stablecoin and not bitcoin

tbh its a very controversial news. on the one hand Global coin will be really easy to get, retain & use it. But on the other hand we dont know exactly about its safety and real purpose.

Facebook will launch a new coin and the team set name of the coin is LIBRA. It is still in the discussion position and the developers are planning for possible improvements. If really facebook launches LIBRA, it would really a strong coin after BTC and ETH.
