I have recently found a newly listed ERC20 token called ConnectCoin (XCON) on the HitBTC exchange.

https://connectingcoin.io/

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5060656.0

It's been listed for less than 6 weeks.

The website says the token is low supply and they will be listed on Binance soon.  I checked Coinmarketcap and there are approx 70 million tokens max.

All the OPs and Devs seem to be African, plus the website says they are affiliated with "Right Track Africa"

With all the scams that have come out of Africa, will this be the first legitimate African Coin to be listed on a major exchange?

I think its a great investment and is way undervalued!

a lot of project will add binance in their site as the next exchange, few of them is right, but anothers ones only want to make a huge hype on the project mate, because binance is a famous exchange in crypto industries and usually the price of coins or tokens will jump hard after listed o binance

Their website says they already applied to Binance.

I don't think they are lying, as anyone can simply check just by contacting Binance.

From what I can tell they had a decent ICO with no complaints from investors just like most good ERC20 tokens.

I have not heard of any scams with this coin and it's been trading regularly on HitBTC exchange for 6 weeks now.

Would you really trust a coin to come out of mainland Africa?! This is just a con like all the other coins to come from that place. What we need to see is something like an African cardano, this will have trust, not just another token with a fancy name

Is XCON the first legitimate African coin to be listed on a major exchange?

I have recently found a newly listed ERC20 token called ConnectCoin (XCON) on the HitBTC exchange.

You say is a token, but in title you say is a coin.

What does a make a coin African?  XCON is an Ethereum token. Not an African token.

I have my reservation about this coin, most people seems to be pushing African project now, even BCASHABC but most people in Africa do not use Cryptocurrencies, so I don't see the demand for this coin/or, also on the website the team said they have built a platform for e-commerce but this is a project based on Ethereum platform

The name of the coin is ConnectCOIN and it is an ERC20 token as said in the first post; all Ethereum is based on bitcoin cryptographic currency (technology).

The coin's developers and main sponsors are all African.  If you go to the website you can clearly see that.

The token project should be taken as legitimate unless there is evidence that fraud is somehow involved.  It is ignorant and racist to say that a coin is deemed to be a scam because of the continent it comes from.  Those developers worked hard to produce this coin and may take pride in their work.  How would you feel if you worked hard to produce and develop a piece of quality software only for someone to deem it a scam or fraud because of your nationality alone?

Sure we have seen scams come out of Africa, but does that mean there are no quality developers there with some sort of pride and integrity in their work?  Are all African developers scammers?  Don't be ignorant.

Getting back to the subject of speculation.  This coin may have potential simply because it is an African coin.
Let's rewind 20 years back when China was just starting out, and before it became an economic superpower.  A few people saw what China was about to become.  If we fast forward to the present we see the same people saying the same thing about Africa:

https://www.bloomberg.com/opinion/articles/2019-06-03/maybe-africa-really-will-be-the-new-china

https://www.forbes.com/sites/panosmourdoukoutas/2018/08/04/china-is-treating-africa-the-same-way-european-colonists-did/

https://qz.com/1550626/chinas-investment-will-allow-africa-to-lead-the-22nd-century/

https://www.brookings.edu/blog/africa-in-focus/2018/04/16/competing-in-africa-china-the-european-union-and-the-united-states/

Is Africa really the new China?  And if so, how will it affect the crypto markets?

I will really love to buy this coin and I hope they have not been pumped already. I am glad that an innovation to use blockchain technology to run businesses is already cutting across Africa too, although this is not the first project I will be knowing that is associated to Africa.

There was one I know about called AFCASH and this one is even planning to launch their exchange if they have not launched it, but the project doesn’t sound that much solid to me, because the team are too quiet and I don’t think they are that active to push the project and create the hype for its awareness, I am hearing this one for the first time and I will really look into it.

With such information if you can gather information through researching online, they have a local thread that might give you some info and help just ask for it with their opinions. Here's the local thread.

I think this is the website for Right Track Africa ~ https://www.righttrackafrica.com/news

But it says that the domain isn't connected to a website.

I don't think they are lying, as anyone can simply check just by contacting Binance.

They say that the application is in the process, maybe they are right and don't lie, but will their project be listed on binance? Not as easy as you think.

Right Track Africa's website is here:
