Don't get it twisted hardwallets still use private keys and that doesn't make it the most secured wallet ever ,you will still need online connection to send your coins so I don't see the difference much between a mobile wallet with private keys
You're definitely right about something, but somehow everyone thinks that hardware wallets are much more secure than regular wallets.

I trust hardware wallets.  Because they always use.  At a minimum, they guarantee that you will not be hacked.  I advise you to use them.

I bought a nano ledger s yesterday, waiting for the delivery.  My question to people who already holding devices like this one. How to backup the wallets? Can I use the same wallet on the software wallets on PC by importing the recovery phrases?

Hardware wallets are your best shot when it comes to securing your coins. Since I started using ledger Nano, I've not had any issue to worry about, most importantly I now have rest of mind.

Of course it is much safer than hot wallet. Think about how much of a private key I have, when logging in on an intermediary they can also get your key. But with cold wallet, but the thief needs to have that usb

Does anyone know of anyone who has lost their crypro holdings by having it stolen?

Yes, and now they have the app on the googlestore and you can basically use your phone as a hardware wallet. The problem is you can only make one wallet but they plan to change this in the future.

hardware wallets are safe when compared to online wallets in a sense that they are solely controlled by you unlike online wallets which are controlled (I  mean the website's servers) by a third party so when the site is offline, you lose everything even if you have the password as most of them do not provide private keys. It is better to use a hardware wallet if you fear a website may steal you and I personally use them because most of them do not have access to your private keys as they do not keep a backup of your keys.

The problem that often occurs in our wallet is hacking and the safest way to prevent it is to always look at wallet website security when visiting it. Besides that, always don't visit suspicious website links. But if we have a lot of valuable coins, hardwallet is a safe choice
Most people that has had viruses enter their system is not because they purposely want to  visit some fishy sites, in this internet world where we have so many people that wants to make money from ad adverts, you see even genuine sites approving Facebook ad and some of this ad which you can mistakenly click on contains these viruses.

Therefore, the best any crypto user can do is to make sure they install a very reliable and strong antivirus tool to protect their system, and for any of their wallet, there is need to encrypt it with a very strong password that it will take the hacker over 100 years to crack.

As mentioned  many times before an anvirus-software can be easily bypassed (and quite often leads to a false feeling of security) and therefore there are only 2 really secure ways of storing your crypto-assets - a hardware-wallet or isolating your private-key from the internet and signing your transactions offline. By the way: The password of your keystore-file (=encrypted private-key) might also be stolen if you're infected by malware; it's still better than using the plain private-key if you don't have a hardware-wallet but still not secure against malware-attacks.

I am agree, Antivirus might detect malware but I think antivirus is not everything because hackers are now very sophisticated. In my opinion, as long as we visit a safe site and always be aware of suspicious links, maybe we can secure our data and wallet.

I personally think it is safe as an offline wallet offers the highest level of security for storing crypto is it involves storing the funds in a secured place that is not connected to any network. This type of wallet can also offer good protection against computer vulnerabilities. The hardware wallets are the best type of offline wallet that offers very high security and ease of use. Also, as these wallets allow backup, you can easily recover your funds if you lose this device.

One such example of a hardware wallet is Trezor. It operates as secure cold storage. You can easily transfer bitcoins to the device using the Trezor interface, which is accessible from macOS, Linux, Windows, and Android. Its interface is quite easy to use that lists your coins and recent transactions.

Trezor uses a 12 to 24-word seed for protection and recovery and a user-defined PIN. You can also add an encrypted passphrase to your wallet for an added layer of security.

what say u?

Indeed, many recommend using hard wallets because of the high level of security. Now many android wallets are good and safe enough to store our coins but storing in the hard wallet will certainly be safer. And to be safer, we must also be aware of the websites we visit, always check the security of the website

Yes.. I'm agree 100000% with your opinion about hardware wallet. I think all of most crypto enthusiast must have this , because ? No any doubt about security on wallets , 100% safe & also easier to use. Yes.. Like Trezor Wallet , this wallet has a small-size wallet.. Trezor Wallet physically looks like Flashdisk USB (Trezor Wallet will be used on PC/Laptop too , also on Android).
But sometimes we can't got Trezor Wallet with cheap price , almost all Trezor Wallet price is little bit expensive. I think its worth it. Little bit expensive price on one Trezor Wallet and a one Trezor Wallet can keep secure your crypto assets.

the disadvantage of hardware wallet is that when a virus attacks the computer, the wallet will also be in trouble and we will lose the moment to access it. different from online wallet, even though our computer is damaged or is being hit by a virus, we can still access it as long as we still remember all the keywords. that way, I think hardware wallet is safe but more risky than online wallet.

I think this is a good idea in terms od security issues but I am also think that there is only limited network that can innovate their system using that hardware wallet. I open my mind in this idea but not today. I need to wait some more time to make it improve and more people will use and try it to be sure that I will not experience some trouble in my transactions. This is a great idea but needs to much upgrade and innovation to make it possible to use by everyone.

hardware wallet is the safest way to store cryptocurrency.. as long as you keep your seed in safe place no one can take your crypto

I have never heard about any incidents in which the coins were stolen from hardware wallets. But in case you forget the PIN number or lose the 24-word seed, then it becomes almost impossible to recover the coins. But one thing that I don't like about the hardware wallets is that they are not very user-friendly. It is a bit difficult for people who are not very tech savvy to use them. Ledger Blue is somewhat better when compared to the other wallets, but even it needs a lot of improvement.

Yeah, and I really wanted to have one hardware wallet in the future. Of course I would feel more confident having a hardware wallet that provides safety and security for all of my crypto assets and holding, you wouldn't have to get worried and feeling paranoid that something unpleasant happening will occus with your online wallets. I hope to have one soonest. I wouls really live it.

hardware wallet can only be used for long-term storage of funds and therefore it is often not necessary to use it, and therefore it is safer.  But if you constantly deal with cryptocurrency, then you very often need to complete transactions.  This means that the degree of risk always increases.

hardware wallet is the safest way to store cryptocurrency.. as long as you keep your seed in safe place no one can take your crypto
Still having to keep your hardware wallet seed safe doesnt mean its the safest way to store cryptocurrency ,all wallets use seeds and private keys except online wallets , the safest way to keep coins safe in crypto space to me is offline wallet
