Crypto news website CCN going to be shutdown due to google

In the case of CCN I am surprised they give up so quickly, I even wonder if it's not a buzz attempt. Google algorithms are dynamics and not fixed. Who would shut down a site that still makes $.

Something is in any case strange in the whole story, especially if we look at their visibility index in a period of one year. It it true that it was 1.2 before Google make some changes, but it was above 1 only few times, and most of time it was under that number.

I wonder why they did not announce something like this last year when their visibility index drop to almost 0.2? It's funny that somebody just relies on Google traffic, so that means that users who visit their site are not coming back and their earnings depend almost entirely on new users.

whether traffic decreass applies to all search engines or only on Google? Google seems to want to charge search engine costs on popular sites or the webmaster missed updated the solution based on the latest Google core. sad if google search engine traffic on the public internet is charged.

I'm not really disappointed to what the recent updates on Google's search algorithm brought to most websites but man, Humble Bundle? That website is not publishing any click-baity articles and webpages with ads on literally every corner but just some games which are sold on low prices and with the proceeds going on to some charities. Anyway though, CCN hasn't brought anything that is a complete game-changer in the industry, and that's just my opinion. We know Google sorts their algorithms for better user experience and try to weed out those that seems to be shady or does not deserve to be on the top of the search pages at all.

This is shocking news to me as I followed the guy when he was just starting out with his mining farm in a warehouse and moved into a mega farm based in georgia.

I'm one of CCN subscribers because they are delivering the latest and fair news about Cryptocurrency but that shutdown will definitely affect their traffic and their online presence, they have complete topics on almost all keywords related to cryptocurrency, Google should update webmasters for any changes and they always do it if you have a webmaster account, this is something weird, I hope it will have a fix.

They are. Apparently, their visibility is down about 35% since the update. Cointelegraph experienced a big hit as well. Neither were as bad as CCN's decline, but I'm sure they are all hurting.

Quality has already been going down across the board for a while -- including sites like Coindesk. So, this isn't exactly a good sign for what's to come.

So there's more than meets the eye in this story. At first, it seems that google is put in the bad light, however, they are just doing their job of eradicating crap sites. People should be more objective on looking at this matter.

I don't think CCN dependent only on google ads! A lot of crypto projects took CCN for their project promotion and If I am not wrong then CCN took 3 BTC for every promotion! Why they gave up so quickly. Coindesk, Cointelegraph lost their traffic too but they are still moving forward, why not CCN? These three media platforms are my most favourite! Google can do whatever they want because they have the power to do that. We know that Google is a big company that is very famous and popular, and if they make an update, all of the websites must follow them, including the big website. But I don't think that Google can interfere with the cryptocurrency world because it's far beyond their power, and I think that is just their strategy to make people panic because of their news. Besides that, we don't know if the news is true or not and we need to wait for another update.

It’s just sad that due to the latest Google Core Update, it made them think to shut their website down for good because of major loss in organic traffic and revenue. I just don’t understand why since they are considered an authoritative website like the other ones.

Is it because Google is cracking down on those crypto-related authoritative websites? But I think they’re not the only ones who are experiencing the significant drop. There are other ones as well.

However, sites like Mirror UK are gaining organic traffic and revenue. Now Google has this so-called “favoritism”?

Even doing proper SEO in the latest update won’t save CCN for good, but I’m just sad that they would throw in the towel after listening to Google’s advice in shutting them down.

This is something a big decision in a very short time period. Even if there is something lacking they should have been notified and further could have taken action after specific grace time.

What Google have done looks a clear favoritism as mentioned in the quote, they should also look into the way it has grown and the right way is to show the right way to get the issues rectified.

They might change the decision over time, and ccn too need to make some plans to continue the service through some way.
