So, it seems that CCN will continue working:
https://www.ccn.com/ccn-markets-is-rising-from-the-dead
Really strange story. I hope they will be able to stay in business, despite these changes made by Google.
It's interesting who will benefit most from this Core Update. From CCN articles it seems that UK tabloids have increased their traffic seriously, and we can't be happy about it. And it's obvious that this update didn't worked in favour of crypto websites because all big players lost big part of traffic.
It's shitty when your business totally depends on Google and one change can ruin everything.

This seems to be how the cryptomarket operates too. With one factor playing a role in the grand scheme of things can cause the markets to crash and those who have large holdings in it will suffer immensely.
Yeah it looks like they have dodged a bullet and it could of been how they planned it all along. So to get more exposure to their site through different outlets reporting about them.
Who knows really. Undecided

You know, if some of these places chose to find a way to retain their viewers and have a consistent way to pull viewers back into their stories, or at least make it part of their reader's daily reading, they might be able to avoid massive drops like this. While I almost guarantee that Google is pulling some shady bullcrap behind the scenes to suppress these websites, they wouldn't need to be concerned about lower search ratings if they maintained a loyal audience. I don't like Google in the slightest, but a business can't exactly live on being found through searches alone for forever. It needs to build a brand and a reputation which develops loyal customers.

But hey, what isn't getting censored these days? If it isn't a very specific line of thought with a sag towards government control, you're on the chopping block. The only question is when you get cut off.

What Google have done looks a clear favoritism as mentioned in the quote, they should also look into the way it has grown and the right way is to show the right way to get the issues rectified.

They might change the decision over time, and ccn too need to make some plans to continue the service through some way.
Who said Google made a change to the algorithm because of ccn? I didn't see any statement by Google to that effect. It's far more likely that ccn made adjustments after seeing the impact of the algorithm and, after just a couple of days, the problems they had from not adjusting are beginning to dissipate thanks to a recent fix. That happens often with SEO, such as when webmasters don't see a Google statement about an algo update and instead see it first in Analytics results.

why doesn't other websites like Coindesk are having any trouble like that?

coindesk is funded by barry silberts DCG.co.. you know the same investment group that pays core devs
coindesk doesnt rely on advert revenue or view counts. DCG pays its article writers to write stuff that are pro DCG agenda

I DO NOT TRADE OR ACT AS ESCROW ON THIS FORUM EVER.
Please do your own research & respect what is written here as both opinion & information gleaned from experience. many people replying with insults but no on-topic content substance, automatically are 'facepalmed' and yawned at

It is due to the founder of ccn saying his site was targeted and as franky1 had said coindesk essentially pays the core devs salaries. Embarrassed

Well after all the drama ccn has done stating it will be shutting down it looks they have recovered and are back from the dead with the google algorithm showing it being alright now. Undecided

"CCN.com decided to shut their door and stop working thanks to Google Update.
What actually happened is that Google’s June 2019 broad core algorithm update was officially implemented on the 3rd of June. The update is part of a yearly routine by the SEO giants towards ensuring a flawless search engine optimization on their platform. With a major benefit of boosting traffic for already in-demand webpages and diminishing visitors’ influx on their “clickbait” pairs. Google had earlier stated, that it informs its clients about these changes beforehand as the process involves nothing but ’simple fixes’.
However, it seems that Google didn’t inform any of member of crypto community since we had CoinDesk dropping by 34.6%, CoinTelegraph by 21.1% and CCN by enormous 71%.
Its Founder, Jonas Borchgrevink said that while he doesn’t want to speculate whether or not this might have affected their site, he certainly hopes Google isn’t actively suppressing journalism.
”Give a three month’s notice to all webmasters, let alone news organizations, of any major Google Core Update and elaborate what it might affect.”
However, it seems that his tears fell on fertile ground because, in less than three days (may we remind you, that’s quicker than Jesus) they came back from the dead saying that ‘CryptoCoinsNews.com’, their previous domain- is reappearing in Google searches.
Borchgrevink said:
“That was a massive surprise for us as I personally requested a domain name change in 2017 from CryptoCoinsNews.com to CCN.com. Since that change, ‘Cryptocoinsnews.com’ was effectively absent on Google. Now it’s back and is inexplicably using recent 2019 articles from CCN.com. This is abrupt and confusing.”
He also added that whether or not the Google June 2019 Core Update is to blame, that they are fixing it.
“We’re receiving help from multiple SEO teams to understand what has transpired. There’s still a good chance that this won’t correct our visibility on Google overnight, but I’m hopeful we are on the right path to figuring it out.”
Good to have you back our little drama queens."

That is the entire story of it so you wouldnt need to click on the source to read about it again unless you want being the reason why I put it there.

But this user has put out a post on his steemit in regards to this entire one off of the google analytical procedure they put these high traffic websites through before accepting and continuing to work with them.

DCG pays its article writers to write stuff that are pro DCG agenda

They at least know how to run a business and seem to favor Bitcoin, which is a good thing. DCG has been the first wealthy entity that has put money into promoting Bitcoin over Gold with their recent drop Gold TV campaign. Usually you only see this happen with shitcoins, but now Bitcoin is actually reaching mainstream TV. Pretty solid if you ask me.

In the end, regardless of who we are talking about, there is always an agenda steering whatever entity to follow a certain path. Big money is involved so what else can you expect?

This is really sad news to the team and the whole crypto community especially those who picked their update fromnthis website. Reading the article, you could se the team is really hit by this new development.

They should not give up, they have accomplished a lot they are popular and they had huge subscribers not to mention, they are widely quoted on various forums and social media, they can fix that, Google is not everything it's just part of the site's source of traffic.
