If I were you, the thing I would do is to quit that job if the job already feels suffocating and you don't feel happy anymore with what you're doing. Let the company know what you're feeling so they won't feel betrayed if you decided to quit, if the company treated you well then they deserve the truth and explanation. Happiness isn't measure based on how long you've been doing that, it's all about the feeling.

I don't think that both options are viable.
You have to find a balance between those two, however I am not sure if this is possible when you work on a 9-5 job. I have a same situation like you where I don't like my job and I feel a lot of anxious after ending the working day.
