EURO U21 Championship - Free Prediction Pool & discussion

European Championship for under 21 years old players is starting in just few days. I decided to open a topic so we can discuss it a bit in these hard times without league football.

To make things a bit more interesting I also created a pool on Superbru page. This one is free entry and no rewards unless I get some sponsors. This is a short competition with only best 12 teams in Europe. We should see some great football and the games will be at more friendly times for us Europeans than Copa America. Share the link for the pool wherever you want guys and let us have some fun.

Here are the groups. The one with my team (Croatia) looks very tough

I just realized Moise Kean would be featuring for the Italian side, I love that kid for real, and I'll be following him a lot during this tournament.

I also signed up on this pool. I don't expect many players there, but still, I hope it will be fun.
All groups looks very tough, because only 12 best teams qualified to championship. Looking at odds, Italy, England, Germany Spain and France are favorites with odss between 5 and 6. But it's very difficult predict something here, only Romania looks like obvious underdogs without any chances to win.

For most national teams, It's about letting players garner as much experience as they can in competitions like this, It doesn't matter if they are in the first team already so far there's no fixture for the senior squad which are scheduled for the duration of the competition.

It depends a little bit on player character as well. I hate when players think they have outgrown U21 squad. We had a situation like that with defender Caleta-Car. He has became a part of the main Croatia squad and when he received invitation to play for U21 he responded that he is unable because he already booked a holiday on Maldives

I want to join but it's really very difficult to predict which country will be the strong candidate who won. If for seniors, we already know which countries are good. But for this U21, I don't know not even knowing the names of players in a country. So it is very difficult to determine whose country is strong.

That is easy, they are all strong. Quolifying is really difficult for these tournaments and all teams which made it deserved it for sure.

This is free pool so it doesn't cost you anything to join. Good way to try your predicting abilities and for us to maybe create prediction adiction in order to have more participants in paying pools as well.

Groups are pretty even, it will be a tough one.

I accepted all of you into the pool. That is now 5 of us in total, with 3 of us from Croatia. Damn, bitcointalk will have to move gambling section under Croatian local board soon 

For those of you who are using Superbru for the first time, you can immediately pick results and you can change them all the way until the match starts. Just make sure not to lock the results. Once you lock the results your choice is final and you can see other people predictions. There is no need to lock the score at any time. This is done automatically once the match starts.

Thanks for the thread Trofo... I actually used to really follow the World Youth Cup (ever since they stopped by my tiny hometown in 1997!) and then have been betting on the U20s (as it's now known), so I bet there are lots of players in EURO U21.

Confusing with all these different formats but I'll have a look and see just how familiar some faces are before even attempting to participate here =)

And yeah, why are there so many Croatians heh. I need to find a countryman... haven't even found 1 on this forum but I know they're hiding.

Bump and a reminder that the games start later today so put your picks in if you haven't already. We should have an excellent game today between Italy and Spain which could have been a game worthy of tournament final.

I also think the same thing because sometimes the junior national team cannot be equated with the senior national team, if the one playing is a senior player I can predict maybe without reading the news.

Last nights display was actually quite unsatisfactory despite the 3:1 win. Good result but the quality of their play wasn't that good. Spain dictated the tempo most of the match. They got the lead as well. Chiesa was great for the Italians and they can consider themselves pretty lucky with a win from this match. Moise Kean didn't create much. He didn't receive a single useful ball from his midfielders and was substituted one hour into the match.

Ya, was kinda unsatisfactory despite the win. I am very looking forward to Serbia vs Austria today, especially Serbia is very strong, wouldnt surprise me if they win the group
