RE: walletever being banned.

I represent a group of developers working on walletever, a pretty innovative crypto ecosystem whose account got banned a few weeks back.

Our account was banned after our first post and no one has given us a proper reason as to why it got banned.

After countless hours researching the most likely scenario for the ban was plagiarism. However, there's no way in the world we will be copying someone's else content, when we are in the quest to promote our own.

We post across the web in a bunch of different places. However, we've chosen bitcointalk to make its audience aware of our plans.

So, is there anyone able to guide through the process of finding what's up?

I hope this is not me wasting my time posting this thread.

TIA
There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

We post across the web in a bunch of different places.

Occasionally posts are reported for plagiarism where the forum post is similar to or a c/p of say a Medium post by the same author, and it may get actioned by the mods who only see the text similarities and not the common authorship.
Maybe this has happened to you.

Thanks for answering.

It could be it.

We came and registered our account because we've been told it was prestigious to be part of such a community.

I mean, when you're promoting your work you basically use the same wording to describe your service' features and benefits.

In our case, we do replace the typical hashing formed by computing power for car-driving based on computer vision. So, the same thing we have posted on Medium, Reddit, might be carrying the same core wording on whatever we've posted on bitcointalk.org.

I'm not sure but that wasn't plagiarism at all but a mistake made by someone that was playing God.

We've written emails and even a note to one of the mods here with no response. Sad!

It's very alarming to think that the people behind running bitcointalk.org who are banning accounts like our for no apparent reasons are the ones seeking to lead the world in the future by pushing for a decentralized world agenda with no control, with no central banks or monetary authority as Bitcoin and Satoshi Nakamoto vision supposed to be about?

The 2-3 persons we have written to are simply acting as they don't care to know what others are going thru when bootstrapping a DLT.

I'd bet whoever has banned our account will be one of the firsts fighting for the freedom of speech, or for a reduction of SEC intervention in crypto upon a situation like those hit him/her.

I guess no one would be willing to apply justice to this account thing we're having. If any of the guys in power are eager to review what happened we'll be grateful justice was applied.

Thanks for your kind advice, guys

It would be fairly simple to establish whether my guess is correct or not by recalling whether or not your only post fell into that category i.e. was it, in essence or entirety, a repost of something you'd posted elsewhere?

Your frustration and rhetoric are understandable, but not particularly conducive to being sympathetically reviewed.
This forum has a massive spam/plagiarism problem which is being aggressively addressed by moderators and it seems possible that you've been caught in the net. Hopefully someone like Hilarious will have a look at the situation.

Thanks again.

I shouldn't have used that verbal tone when speaking to you. As you said it was me speaking out of frustration.

Regarding your advice to hope for Hilarious to have a look at this situation. "Hilari" was the very same person I have written twice about the ban subject.

He/she never got back to me.

So, if my hopes do rely on that resource I guess we're fu$%#d.

Thanks again for being this kind and helpful.

Three days after my last post and no one seems to care or even take the time to send me a private message regarding this banning issue.

This is the who-cares-about-your-issue type of society people behind bitcointalk.org/Satoshi Nakamoto's vision are building to dethrone the JP Morgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, Facebook, Citi and HSBC of the world, huh?

Sad.

At least Facebook gets back when you get suspended or banned. They tell you the reason.

Behaving like this simply will refrain crypto to evolute within mainstream and reach ubiquitous Facebook someday.

Who knows whether we open a new account to face the same banning perhaps by the same guy who did the first one.

Thanks to those who chipped in. Blessings

I believe this is the account been banned walletever, as you presented in the OP.
Code:

5/19/2019 11:22:24 PM Profile woke up New post
12/29/2018 12:35:43 AM Changed to Archived status    Inactive for 90 days
5/24/2019 2:19:03 AM Changed to Archived status    Nuke user
5/19/2019 11:35:39 PM Changed to Archived status    Nuke user

As it's been nuked there's no way regular users can take a look at the posts been plagiarized or whatever the reason of the ban. Global moderators will be the one that will respond of what really happened please just be patient for a response.

Thanks for your input.

The inactivity is pretty normal.

As a co-founder, you make sure to protect the brand you are incorporating as your startup by registering it in every single media outlet to avoid people to misrepresent you or act as impostors on behalf of the brand.

About 60-90 days after getting the name registered as profiles, we started posting on Linkedin, Reddit, Medium and Facebook around the same time.

Then we briefly checked Steemit and other outlets before set our first post on bitcointalk.org.

I'm sure the text wasn't plagiarized at all. Although the content could have looked very similar due to the fact that it follows a story about how we came with the idea, what's the purpose of being part of the project, benefits and what have you.

Patience is a great attribute. We'll then be patient.

Thanks again

AFAIK, Brandnew or newbie accounts that share malicious links and spam endlessly are the ones that are usually nuked.
Now as of 26th march 2019, your account had just made one post

Then on 19th May 2019, it woke up to make a new post and I have a feeling that's the post that got your account nuked. Did you make any post on that day?

Thanks for your inquiry.

We made only one post.

For the second post, our account was already banned and we've got from an email from bitcointalk.org stating that the account was banned. So, we couldn't post anything else.

I mean, we pressed on the "submit" button but the actual note wasn't posted.

I immediately wrote back to the email noted on the correspondence we've got. Nothing back from them yet.

As I stated above. We assured the profile was free so we reserved the profile name and it wasn't until a few months down the road when we wrote our first post.

It's a post related to an existing company trying to create a community of users for crypto adoption.

At least Facebook gets back when you get suspended or banned. They tell you the reason.
Well Facebook is a gigantic corporation with publicly traded stock and so forth; this is "just" a discussion forum, no matter how prestigious you think it might be.  It's also a forum where the mods are frustrated and sick of people plagiarizing content and breaking all sorts of rules without even knowing what the rules are.  They probably don't have the time or inclination to respond to each ban appeal, because there are not only so many of them but most are exactly the same, with folks just trying to get away with whatever they think they can.  Hence your lack of response.

You may or may not have a shot at getting your account back here, but you've got to be patient and probably a little persistent as well.  Don't be pushy or aggressive, else you'll just get ignored.  Just some friendly advice based on my experience with these things.

I know where you are coming from and I appreciate your advice.

I know a little too much about scammers and plagiarizers ... We aren't either. That's why we -and I particularly, may have been perceived as little aggressive when claiming to have my ban reviewed for lack of proven evidence we broke the rules.

But what's going to happen in the meanwhile? They might spot my new account as a ban-resistant account and would get me expelled for register a new account to post the same type of content as the previous one they got me banned.

It's confusing. Hence, my little rant.

Thanks again for your contribution. Frankly appreciate it.

My guess would be that your two posts were spam / off topic and upon seeing that as a pattern mods decided to nuke you.

And yes, that means you can't post under any other account regardless whether it's singular "you" or plural "you".

Your first post seems to have been posted in this spam megathread:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=42465.1640

The second one appears to have been a new thread on the Mining board, which has a particularly strict moderator and your post was not about Bitcoin mining, i.e. you didn't read the sticky: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2415854.0

Hey suchmoon, what's up?

Thanks for your input.

The first one I believe was posted.

When we tried to upload the second one a few weeks after we got a large red copy stating that our account was banned. Immediately I believe we've got an email describing the ban without apparent reasons.

If your account got nuked (banned + all posts deleted) it could've been any of the patroller mods (of which there are many) alongside the global mods and admins. Either way, the only people who can review your (now wiped) post history is the admins - theymos and Cyrus. Since the email address stated in the ban message is probably reviewed by at least one of them (hopefully), IMO PMing them won't really help. Depending on where you posted before you got banned, you could try PMing the moderators that are assigned to said boards (the users that are listed after the "Moderators:" text on every non-topic page of the board as well as bellow the title to said board on the front page and parent board pages).

The modified version of Simple Machines Forums 1.1 Bitcointalk uses handles bans in a pretty clunky manner and if one wants to avoid said chunkiness (or simply doesn't have access to that type of ban), bans can only contain rather limited information. While I try to put in a specific reason in all of my bans as of late (if not for the users getting banned, then at least so I would remember as to what he got banned for), some mods either don't bother or simply do not have access to that type of ban. In your case in could be either, though I suspect it might be the latter. A lack of a software-based and streamlined ban appeal process is an issue as well.

It's clear to me you know your thing.

Thanks a lot for your opinion.

The thing is that the account banned portrays the brand of the service we have founded/funded. So, it's hard for us to let it go and for reasons beyond our control and without bad intentions.

I believe you stated that pm the main mods might be a waste of time. So, what you thing will be an expedite way to get attention from the people with the capacity to review our situation?

Thanks in advance.

I don't think there's anything you can do beyond waiting. I guess if nobody responds to the email in a month or two, I guess you could try PMing the admins though don't hold your breath on actually getting a response.
