Advice on how to either sell or peel a loaded physical BTC?

Hi,

I have been trying to watch videos and read different posts, but I'm still not confident.  I'd love to know more, and would welcome any help.  

The coins were purchased by my brother and me from Mt Gox (around 2011), a total of 15 BTC. 3 were physical coins and 12 were in the exchange and lost as part of the collapse.  There were also 12 blank coins and as many small hologram stickers.  One physical coin was given away to my buddy who introduced me to Bitcoin, he sold his fairly quickly (at the WSOP in Vegas), and that's how I first learned about the error/ misspelling Casascius coin.  Anyways, I believe that is the coin that I have, I will post pictures if I am able to, or fill in any other info you want.

Hi ,the best place for advice for these coins is in the collectibles section. Your coins may be VERY attractive to collectors. DONT redeem them yet as I’m sure you would be able to sell them in this section. All advice can be gathered here and forum members in this section are very friendly and amenable and would gladly offer sound advice.

Having a picture of the coin would be a nice reference on how to help you. Either way, I believe that sweeping the private key off of the physical bitcoin is always the way to go, though I'm entirely not sure how since I don't know what type of physical bitcoin you have. You can use mobile wallet devices to sweep off the private key and import the said wallet into your own wallets. In that way, the coins would be spendable and you can keep the physical bitcoin as a memorabilia.

This is not true. You can often get more BTC by selling the coin than by peeling and sweeping funds.  Again, I would recommend moving this topic to Collectibles as you will have members there who would be willing to purchase them.
