No. Bitcoin cannot stand alone without blockchain since without the said technology, bitcoin is just a series of algorithms put together but of no use in reality. Whereas blockchain can be a stand-alone tech integrated into some other program/systems and help record data by putting it all together in a block forming a series of chains. Essentially, bitcoin is not bitcoin without blockchain but blockchain can be a blockchain even without bitcoin.

Blockchain is another hyped technology by MBAs and CAs for IT/Tech security which has no real use. Bitcoin is part of blockchain. Just as Bitcoin fell from $20,000 to $3000, blockchain also fell

They are always referring blockchain as the technology yet saying bitcoin is the asset that run on it. So can you view it as blockchain as the engine and bitcoin as the fuel? This makes more sense when trying to explain the difference between to the two when someone without any technical knowledge asks you to give them an analogy of bitcoin and how it works.

Is Blockchain equal Bitcoin?
the answer to your short question is definitely a big NO cmiiw, Bitcoin is the very first working implementation of blockchain based system in the world it is more appropriate to say that blockchain is the core foundation of bitcoin thus blockchain technology can be implemented and developed into many more applications

Of course not. Blockchain technology is a much broader concept than Bitcoin. Bitcoin is one of the first applications of the first blockchain technology products. Therefore, almost all states accept blockchain technology, but they are ambiguous about its product, cryptocurrency.

Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency, a form of electronic cash. It is a decentralized digital currency without a central bank or single administrator that can be sent from user to user on the peer-to-peer bitcoin network without the need for intermediaries. ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bitcoin) Blockchain is a growing list of records, called blocks, which are linked using cryptography. Each block contains a cryptographic hash of the previous block, a timestamp, and transaction data (generally represented as a Merkle tree). ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blockchain) In conclusion, the blockchain is a concept / technology behind bitcoin, which is the first crypto currency in the world. some countries today still reject the existence of bitcoin but accept the blockchain concept.

bitcoin did not fall from $20k to $3k the $20k was a small fluke event. not a normal sustained price/value. you word it like a seagul up high dived down into the water and never came back up. reality is a whale leaped up out of the water and then splashed back to its natural level ....... as for bitcoin vs blockchain blockchain is the new revolutionary database model that needs no central storage. and bitcoin is just one type/form of data held on such a database model.

... So can you view it as blockchain as the engine and bitcoin as the fuel? ... Blockchain is the ledger, bitcoin is the protocol and algorithms. The protocol and algorithms (bitcoin) allows every participant in the network to download and sync an identical/correct ledger (blockchain)

Blockchain is type of database that Bitcoin uses to function.
Blockchain is just one part of Bitcoin technology.
It is important because it allows decentralization. Without blockchain it would be impossible to have decentalised system with current technology.

Is Blockchain equal Bitcoin?
It used to be a Wall St. manstra that blockchain is more than just bitcoin and that bitcoin isn't going anywhere, but increasingly we are seeing people flocking to the bitcoin camp and equating the two. I believe bitcoin will remain the most prominent blockchain, but there will be other ones, both public and private, coexisting.

Is Blockchain equal Bitcoin?
I always see this as Blockchain as the technology that keeps records of transactions across multiple computers, Bitcoin is the application of blockchain technology, and bitcoin ( BTC) is the reward to keep Bitcoin blockchain secured through the miners. Blockchain is another hyped technology by MBAs and CAs for IT/Tech security which has no real use. Bitcoin is part of blockchain. Just as Bitcoin fell from $20,000 to $3000, blockchain also fell

You have fully answered the question. As soon as I saw this post, I wanted to write the same. That's right - bitcoin without blockchain is not a bitcoin.

Yet major corporations are paying $10 million each to run a Libra node. Facebook could potentially become one of the largest banks in the world. You remind me of the Amazon-haters of the early 2000s who kept on insisting AMZN stock would plunge to near worthlessness. The argument then was that Amazon was just a glorified online bookstore. It looks like in just a few years almost everyone will be using cryptocurrencies.

Is Blockchain equal Bitcoin?
Why most of the topic being created like this, its too direct to the point and it looks like a spam to me. Well, bitcoin is nothing without blockchain I believe, they work separately and we both need them. That's why many coins have their own blockchain technology because its not directly connected with bitcoin.

Is Blockchain equal Bitcoin?
Bitcoin and Blockchain are likened to partners who cannot be replaced and both need each other, I am very sure that bitcoin will not be like this without the help of blockchain technology and vice versa, then the blockchain is very helpful in developing bitcoin in the future, and we also feel that thing and no longer denied ...

Yes definatly bitcoin is totally dependant on blockchain technology.. without blockchain technology bitcoin is just algorithmic or codes and nothing.. but with blockchain it is a currency...
I think you did not get the question! Your answer would have made sense if the question was - "Is blockchain equal to bitcoin?". However, the question was asked in a different manner where Bitcoin's equality is being compared to blockchain. The correct answer is NO! If blockchain is galaxy, then bitcoin is just a small meteor! Bitcoin is just one of the practical implementations of blockchain in financial technology field.

~~~but with blockchain it is a currency...
Bitcoin is not currency but a payment method. Back to the question, the data on the blockchain is Bitcoin and many others coins that where forked, also, these data are dependent on the Blockchain, which without they are just mere data. I assumed that, OP just got confused and wandering around the entire forum with no substance in his/her threads.
