I keep seeing  that exchanges are delisting a lot of ALT Coins, are those projects basically dead? I really like loopring (LRC) but I don't know how well it will do while its banned in the US. Do you guys have any input on this Alt coin ban/delisting? What will you guys do with your coins that are on the chopping list?

Bittrex is banning trading of some coins to USA citizens. No to everyone just for them. Reason is because they are securities.  It dont mean anything. Those tokens are same as before. If you believed are worth to you then they are same worth yesterday as are today.

Nope. I've seen good projects delisted from the major altcoin exchanges and still going on with active development.
But delisting usually comes with a blow in the price; the more and bigger the exchanges delisting, the bigger the damage. Maybe some coins can recover from that, but some surely not.

Please don't take it as a trading advise. I don't tell you should sell or not. I don't know the project/coin. It's absolutely your decision. And imho it's a tough one.

These exchanges which you talk about don't do the delist thing often. Because the projects with a proper list policy do not need this much. On the contrary, they are trying to strengthen their platforms with new and high-potential projects. Binance, for example, moved on to a new method. First, they will try community-supported tokens at DEX. And Binance will list the successful ones at CEX. Verasity will be listed in Binance in this sense in the coming days. Let's follow how it will react.

I think the major reason why some coins get delisted is when they don't provide liquidity for the exchange. Of a coin doesn't give profit over time or of its nature changes, it could be delisted. Using $TRST as example, Bittrex delisted it because they noticed it was a security token other than what they said earlier.

exchanges de-list coins when they stop giving them profit (profit of an exchange comes from number or volume of trades) so it shows that the de-listed coin didn't have that much volume which indicates lack of user interest and its death.
of course the definition of a dead project is a big weird among altcoins. a dead project in my opinion is a project that has nothing to offer and is a copy coin or a token. they are dead the day they are created. but usually people define them as dead when their trade volume drops to absolute zero otherwise there are hundreds of them that exist on some exchange (like Yobit for instance) and every now and then get 10000% pumps in a day!

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.
Whales are those who keep buying the dip.

yes exchanges can delist coins that found not suitable for its users or that's lost liquidity. This projects after being delisted can die off or look for smaller exchanges which they can hold onto for the time being. This delisting happens almost on daily basis and that wouldn't stop as many currencies loose values momentarily

To answer this, we can not answer this too generally. There so few reasons behind coin delist, such as:
- Unprofitable fees from tradings of those coins on exchange. Exchange, in reality, has to spend funds to secure their platform, to do wallet upgrade, customer supports and so on. So, if a specific coin has too low volume for long period, it will highly be delisted.
- Changes in local laws, such as what happened in the US. In such cases, coins have not changed themselves, delists come from exchanges issues and local authority managements.
For the second reason, there is no reason to worry when coin delisted.

The worst that could happen is loss in value for a short time being only if the coin or token is still developing on there roadmaps cos I've seen delisted coins that stand back on its feet after the severe blow from been delisted

first, i will move all coin from bittrex to another existing exchange or private wallet with that coin. Some times, if we are too lates to wd, we are lost our coin or not transferable. And than start to sell that coin if projects stuck no more update or being die slowly.

These exchanges are extremely important platforms. For this reason, the value of the tokens we have will decrease first. Therefore, it is useful to be careful against such situations.

Well, if the coin is delisted on ALL exchanges than it is most likely that the coin is basically as good as dead.

However, if you are delisted on just those three that is fine since there are tens of exchanges out there who deal with the small coins that the big exchanges do not care about. Places like idax for example make their profits from keeping the small coins on their roster and making sure they have as many small coins that binance/bittrex/poloniex doesn't list. Those trading fees even if they are 50 bucks a day combined make above a thousand dollars per day for them when they list all small coins and that makes sure they are still profiting and having a good business.

There are many coins that is no longer listed anywhere though, so they are totally dead and will not even return because once you are delisted from every where there is little chance you can come back.

They are just delisting the tokens/coins due to low volume or dead trading.
But it is not meant to be a dead or banned. you should withdraw your tokens/coins and send it to other exchange which it is still listed.

If there are tokens delisted from these exchanges there's a possibility of other exchanges to list them becasue they might look too small for trade. Binance and other big exchanges are know to operate on high volume tokens and despairs other smaller tokens from their exchange. Op don't need to worry becasue delisted tokens are likely to bull when the race begin.

but you need to be careful on those coins. they have reasons why they are delisting such coins and you need to find out why. though volume & trading activity are major factors but you should find it for yourself. you should get rid of those coins if you feel that they are being abandoned by the devs. there's no point of holding them as they will lose their value and you will end up regretting that you haven't sold them.

I  believe the fact a coin got delisted doesn't mean the project is nonperforming or not good . Sometimes, traders shift their base from one trading on one exchange to another , this might due to Liquidity reason or fees being charges. A company like binance can delist a coin if they are not gaining considerable trading volume daily as they expected. I have been in a situation where a coin i was holding got delisted in one of the exchange i like before of the lower trading volume .There are so many better exchanges. If i coin got delisted in an exchange, another better exchange will embrace it .

Yes if an exchange delists a coin it definitely has a negative effect not only on the price of the coin but also on the project, most investors will loose confidence and panic but if the coin and project is good i suggest to move to your wallet and wait they will definitely get listed on other exchanges where you can trade them.

Those that are delisted from bittrex and other exchagnes are basically not dead.  They are either a security token or they do not meet the required daily volume for the exchange.  Aside from that in severe case they are probably found out to be a fraud or scam coins.

I have lost a lot of money in the past as a result of delisting of coins from mainstream exchanges so my advice is that as soon as delisting is announced go and sell all your coins instantly if you want to face less loss or if you are confident about coin then you can sell quickly and buy back from deep price dips that can multiply you coin bag and then transfer all those coins to another exchange where the coins are listed.
