I know that Facebook announced Libra and its a very big project with many established partnership. But its not what we want. Libra will not follow the basic fundamental of crypto currency that is decentralization. Libra is a fully centralized crypto.
of course, the focus of Libra will be the use of coins for their platforms. there are interesting things where large companies are behind libra. they have the great ability to make libra into a very large coin. even though it is only a centralized crypto, libra will focus on achievement and function.

i believe, even a huge company behind this libra will not make libra replacing bitcoin as the king of crypto
but, the impact will be good for crypto world especially for bitcoin, because a lot people will learn more about cryptocurrency because of libra

Gonna have a hard time getting to be the new crypto king..if it cannot even get approval to exist as a centralized coin.

Just saying. Also, I read Paypal and some others are pulling out and some other major backers.

I guess it has turned into too much of a political cluster.

Old Style Legacy Plug & Play BBS System. Get it from www.synchro.net. Updated 1/1/2021. It also works with Windows 10 and likely 11 and allows 16 bit DOS game doors on the same Win 10 Machine in Multi-Node! Five Minute Install! Look it over it uninstalls just as fast, if you simply want to look it over. Freeware! Full BBS System! It is a frigging hoot!:)

Lol, wall-said. To be a new crypto king not so easy, if you're centralized, it's harder. I did not see this thread before. But i must say that it's very heartbreaking for the starter.

PayPal already pulled out and Mastercard and Visa considering to resile. I don't think Libra can achieve its goals in the short-term and the long-term. Mark Zuckerberg is simply fraud, and nobody should believe him, even if he created a blockchain startup.

There had been only one crypto king and there will be only one crypto king, Bitcoin.

That's quite impossible, new and old cryptocurrency king is Bitcoin. European countries Germany and France already rejected Libra coin, this is the bad effect. European countries rejected Libra because it could be a threat to a stable EU economy.

The backlash the Libra is facing from the regulating authorities all over the world makes me doubt whether this project is even going forward. Facebook which has been involved in privacy breach before, can't be trusted when it comes to taking care of transactions and money. Paypal has already come out of the association and others might follow soon. Even if it sees the light of the day I doubt Libra will be the king in crypto space.

There are people who never trusted Libra project, I`m one of them. There is more then one reason, first of all is that
I don`t like FaceBook, they have been accused and convicted for selling private data`s more then once. Second reason
is more important, they plan to be stable coin, so what we investors in crypto-currencies have from that? That coin
will not rise, or have potential future, it will be there for using, you can buy it and spend it like any other currency
with stable value.
Libra will serve the purpose, it will introduce people with real crypto-currencies. It`s only good thing from entire
Libra project.

BIG WINNER!

Libra is the biggest scam put together by the system to block the real cryptocurrencies.
It is totally centralized, and - like your facebook account - it can be blocked without receiving any explanation.
But people are so stupid that they will be fooled.
How sad ... Sad

this is yet to be known as king as the dream is still very young and never enter market also and with that alone we cant say is the king as we have lots of coin here in the market and libra is still kind of having challenging now but till we see a real market turnout and that would be nice to have.

Until now, there are quite a lot of big companies that support Libra, but so is the rejection in several countries. I am not so sure that Libra can beat bitcoin in the future. however, FUD is so widely spread about libra like the link below

Bitcoin will be the crypto king forever.
(or for a vry long time)
Bitcoin could go to zero value in no time at all. You have to invest with caution.
Lol, if you say bitcoin can reach zero value and that's not possible because all this time bitcoin has always given a good value even though there is a decrease but it will definitely go up again.
and the arrival of new coins will not affect the value of bitcoin and nothing will replace the position of bitcoin as the king of cryptocurrency.

Libra is not even a real cryptocurrency. Also, PayPal should already be removed from the list of supporting companies, and it will likely not be the last one to leave Libra before the coin sees launch.

If we are talking about the King of Cryptos then it is just bitcoin, the one real king. Let us just not forget the reason why we have altcoins. I do not think that altcoins can survive or gain trust without taking help from bitcoin. The best altcoin has been ethereum for long now and even it failed to take place of bitcoin even after years of efforts. Libra or any other don't even stand the chance. They cant even achieve a quarter of what bitcoin had years ago.

Libra of course will add a great innovation to the crypto currency market and it will be very valuable, but it can't the new crypto king. It is not that easy. Bitcoin is always the king of this market, I think it will stay at least for the next 5 years. It is not possible for the libra to exceed bitcoin already. It is also not possible libra to exceed large coins such as ethereum, ripple, stellar in the short and medium term, but I'm sure it will be among the top-10 coins

You can now actually bet on Libra launch date:

Facebook Skeptics Now Have Derivatives to Bet on Libra Delays

Quote

CoinFLEX is offering physically-settled futures that will deliver Libra tokens if the so-called stablecoin is live by Dec. 30, 2020, or the settlement date. If Libra is not operational by then, investors will receive nothing and will have lost their initial investment.

You can bet on the successful launch of Libra Token by 2020.
This is not a future, actually it is an option on a Libra  Token with strike price equal to 0 and expiry on 31.12.20.

This remind me on the futures on Segwit2x coins: these were massively important rejecting the fork, I doubt those future will have any significative impact on a centralised decision.

Maybe because many people consider Libra coin to be in demand by investors. Libra Coin in my opinion has the potential to become large because with the number of Facebook members who reach billions, there is an opportunity to become the largest in terms of market cap value
