Hey guys and gals. I ran into a problem and its quite freaking me out.. I was hoping you smart tech people can help me out with this situation..

So I sent just under a BTC (.9 something) to my ledger live wallet from Electrum desktop wallet and its not showing up.. I remember the moment of when I sent it, it showed up instantly on my ledger wallet that there was incoming BTC on the way (unconfirmed). So I said okay time to go to sleep. I wake up the next day and after work I decided to check up on my ledger wallet and see how its doing.. Then I do not see the BTC in which I had sent yesterday.. When I go on my ledger live and go to my "last operations" it shows as received and that it has been confirmed in green.. However I do not see that BTC in which I had sent in my balances.. So what the hell is this..I am confused.. Huh Huh Huh

Please anyone out there that can possibly help I really would appreciate it.

What is important that there is a transaction confirmation in Ledger Live, so you send it to correct address and it is in your wallet. Sometimes Ledger Live is have problem with displaying the incorrect balance, and this can be related to application cache. In order to fix that you need to clear cache and resync for data by doing this steps in Ledger Live :

-Click on Settings.
-Click the Help tab.
-Click the Clear button to clear the cache.
-Click Confirm after reading the instructions. The application will then reopen to your dashboard.
-Once Ledger Live is synchronized, your balance should be correct.

I don't know if it could help but is your Ledger updated? There has been an update recently. So could that help to fix the problem? Update and do as @Lucius said above.
Also check the status page there is a problem resulting in showing incorrect balance which can happen when nodes are down

do a quick check of your receiving address balance on a blockchain explorer,
see if it has been confirmed and has correct balance amount as you expected
if there is an outgoing transaction after that incoming, your pc may have been compromised

Brother, there is no outgoing transaction after the incoming.. When I type in that BTC address (the BTC address in which I sent the .9 BTC to) onto blockchain.info it only shows 1 incoming transaction and it is green. I see no reds..

What the hell is this you guys!? I swear this is weird.

I can't remember the correct steps but there is a field in the settings page where you can change the source from which Ledger Live is showing the value of your portfolio - the exchange they use to show the dollar value of your bitcoins and other coins.

I remember a few months ago that after opening Ledger Live my BTC value was showing 0 or not available.
After the mini hearth attack I changed the exchange they use to display the value and everything was back to normal.

Try to check the settings page for that field. If you can't do it, let me know and I will look at it when I get back home.

TreeHippie, can you confirm that you have latest 1.5.5 firmware for your Ledger Nano S and that you are using latest Ledger Live? You should also try to remove bitcoin app from Nano S and install latest from Manager. I see lot a users have problems like you, but most of them solve that in a way that I have already stated, too bad it is not work for you.

It is also possible that something is wrong with your Ledger Live (some corrupted data), and if nothing from above solve your problem just uninstall Ledger Live, and delete manually his folder which is located in C: Users/ Home / AppData / Roaming if you are using Windows.

You can also try advice from Pmalek, maybe the problem is only in exchange Ledger Live is using to show data.

@OP use the bip39 tool to recover your BTC, export the private key and import it to another wallet so you have full control over your bitcoins.
After that you can fix your Ledger.

What?
Do you even know what this topic is all about ?

OP has a hardware wallet. The last thing he should do is to enter the seed somewhere else than into his nano s...

OP, can you verify that the address is indeed part of your wallet ? Did you verify it on your nano s screen when asked to do so ?
If not, you might want to connect your nano s with electrum, open the console and enter:
Code:
ismine("1YourBTCAddress")

If it returns true, it is just a connection / display issue.

This is exactly why the bip39 tool is there and my advice to not do it on the webpage itself but rather to "save it as..."

This is a known method for recovering lost or "unreachable" coins.

The seed generated by the nano s shouldn't be entered anywhere else than the nano s itself.
That's the only way to be sure that the seed won't get compromised.

Why risk compromising the seed if you can check it using electrum where the private keys won't leave the nano s at all..

This is a known method for recovering lost or "unreachable" coins.

If the nano s contains the private key to this address, they are not lost or 'unreachable'.
And to check that (given that OP didn't verify the receiving address on the nano s), connecting the HW with electrum is definitely a better way than risking to compromise the seed.

I remember the moment of when I sent it, it showed up instantly on my ledger wallet that there was incoming BTC on the way (unconfirmed).

The fact that OP is saw the incoming transaction in Ledger Live, undoubtedly tells us that receiving address is part of his Nano S wallet. Therefore, we can conclude that this is problem with something in Ledger Live, or maybe with outdated bitcoin app on Nano. Clean install of Ledger Live and app on Nano S are the only logical step to the possible solution of this problem.

If you still can't solve the issue of using ledger nano s, I'm sure using electrum can save your day, only as your last resort. Follow instructions here > https://support.ledger.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005161925-Set-up-and-use-Electrum
