There is no specific answer for "how long" it may take.
The only thing to be considered is to stay calm as much as possible and most importantly patience is the only hope.

I remember in 2017-2018 during the last bull run, every alt investor was under panic (I was a bit too) and reacted the same as now.

If you are already in loss, then I don't see any advantage to sale in loss and exit... In my opinion, the best thing to do is to wait for a good day. Rest on you, the "decision" you need to take. Good Luck!

Beside self pump binance coin I don't see any worthy known coin that's pump 30-50%. I must of missed something.

Check the market and conclude the situation now. The market has already recovered and don't look at the past all time high but look at the all time lows.

Yes, people have lost interest in altcoins because of the ICO scams of 2017.

It sucks because it affects legitimate cryptocurrencies as well.

People put this wall up and it's hard to get to them even though your tech is solid and the coin economics is great.

I don't blame them though, if I were scammed in 2017, I would be hesitant to buy into new coins as well.

No one knows when altcoins will start surging like bitcoin and it might take longer than expected but I'm sure that altcoins season will return ,if bitcoin can make it back to 19k or more I'm sure altcoins will start surging in price

I think to be sure, we need to see an ATH of bitcoin and I'll expect that price of altcoins would go crazy.
The market is still full of manipulation, we cannot stop the old trend to come again, as there is a FOMO, there's a lot of chance more unexperience investors investing aggressively in the market again, hype are all over and whales can pump the price so the project looks promising.

lie big lie, you are the one losing faith in altcoins and not the people. Many altcoins are doing well and I have an altcoin that experienced quite a good growth recently so you see this your problem and not the people.

because as i knew, now ethereum almost touch $300 price level, and thats really good result for this altcoins

Altcoins are not surging in value just as I expected ,back in 2017 when the bullrun starts its takes longer before altcoins start seeing huge gains ,not until January 2018 so let's all chill and have patient ,the days we've all been waiting for my be around the corner already

I can say that this trend is definitely there. There are some altcoins in my portfolio, I think, like most here. But to say that at least one of them has just shot this way so that I would be pleased, then there is no such thing.

Bitcoin is at the highest level since new year, while other altcoins are sleeping or they are falling. This could confirm your idea that people are loosing their patient in altcoin and are switching into Bitcoin.

I do not have any other options rather than believing that the market will recover itself and reach at the peak giving a cheer across the face of many people who have been suffering a big loss. As cryptocurrency is highly volatile, we cannot say for sure when the market goes up and down. It may reach its peak of 2017 when bitcoin sat at a peak of $20000, and give solace to the sufferers.

I can't deny the fact that it makes me worried when I think about FB's coin entering the crypto space. Based on my research, all those P2p or any related digital payments will  likely to be obsolete because Libra coin is here to throw them out from the competition. But I'm still begging the market to make one final bull run that is huge so I still can get out and make the best profit before my nightmares from Libra come into life.

Judging from the overall market capitalisation of the altcoins there's no significant data that says so much money escaping from the altcoins capital circulation, even the current 24h volume si quite high at the moment, the price going down is just an effect from bitcoin. When bitcoin is rising so much such a thing tend to happen.

Precisely because of the time when you are losing faith in altcoin, when the shark is gathering it. Everyone's mistake is to pay attention to when the market rises to buy in and lose money without thinking about when the market is gloomy to buy. When bitcoin is priced at 3k $, I think no one dares to buy it but when it is 9k $, it is massively bought?

I don't think am one of those losing confident in altcoins, intact it has been a blessing to me. What I will advice is that you change your strategy if things ain't working out well
