It is possible, there are theories about a quantum computer breaking and decoding privatekey through public keys.  Though it is far from happening today but it will be a serious threat for BTC security if Bitcoin security features do not improve along the advancement of computers.

Yea but who would have access to quantum computers? They aren't exactly in mass production. A state actor? Is this what OP meant by "somewhere"...?

IBM is making System One now. Governments probably have access to something even stronger.

governments are powerful . they have lots of cash and they can order ready made quantom computers but i dont think that these computers can attack bitcoin via public address  . btw is this some kind of a brutforce ?   , if yes then they must need some part of the private key or some parts of the users passwords before they can attempt to crack it  .
If the government will seriously take part of this they can make it happen, they have all the resources and capabilities so it's better to every bitcoiners
to be well aware on their actions, it's very important to keep being updated and to keep checking the possibilities or how the government is working with this concern.

If Trump is on board with it, chances are every other global power is as well - https://www.govtrack.us/congress/bills/115/hr6227

What can't the Treasury print more of? You guessed it, Bitcoin.

You might be pointing out on hackers planning to attack exchanges and other platforms that are holding bitcoins. This attacks really make bitcoin and cryptocurrency less secured as of now. This is a long-time issues that still need to be resolved.

That's always happening and isn't BTC specific.

Hackers is always a threat of crypto security but on this current situation that the rise of bitcoin is subjected to be hack maybe its only an assumption and nothing is proven true and that is a kind of a fud to destroy crypto currency to frighten the investors and make unnecessary dump, so we should be vigilant on all our moves in crypto market.

Of course that is an issue and always will be. Hackers are attracted to everything that brings them money, so cryptocurrencies are target too. But governments don't have anything to do with that. I.guess some people just can't live without conspiracy theories and every time when the price drop is either whales or governments to blame.

Somewhere, a group is preparing an attack on Bitcoin. It will come around the next big pump. The attackers will have an exponentially large advantage of computing power. If the network isn't compromised, it will be severely damaged.
Is this attack came from your dream?or from somewhere who passes hearsay’s?why not put some links or proof here so we can find this truthful ?though after the big pump of almost $14,000 now we are dropping bad again.but this is not enough reason to think or justify what you are imposing here

It's nothing new anyway since every time there is a bull run there will always be some FUDs that will try to flush the weak hands. All we have to do is to give some bits of advice to those newbies who are just starting to make some profit in this crypto world. It's not that bad to let them feel secured because some of them aren't that wise enough to notice the fault for the first time.

What is that? Bitcoin is "less-secured" now? How can you say that? Because of the hacks that are happening to these exchanges? No! Even if there are a lot of hacks that is happening, bitcoin is not "less-secured" because if that is the case, I don't think we will be seeing the price like this, hackers will just create a lot of btc and sell it and obviously, the price will fall down.

if this is true, we must have a lot of good technology and learn to read the intent and purpose of it all so that we don't lose a lot of digital money if there is a group of bad people we must be careful so that we are not fooled or suspicious of the risks that must be taken once again be careful and understand technology and read your financial rules report things you don't know about your admin and friends.

How did you know OP? I was about to get interested with your post as it seems that you can be a good source when it comes to bitcoin market price pump. Yeah it did a market price pump and I was surprise that from 10.7K surging up to 12k + usd. This OP has very interesting knowledge to share with.

Anyway, I will be checking on your post OP and hope to see more updates from you.

Attacks in the form of computing power is really an impossible thing to be done with bitcoin. Same as the Mtgox issue there can be some efforts from hackers to breach security and make the network collapse. This scenario will last for short time period as the market these days seems to recover quicker than the past as common public has known better about the market.

Compute power is a network attack where gox was a failed 3rd party service. People are aware it isnt Bitcoin its fault when a exchange got exploited.

What you are saying is not an easy thing to do, none can really launch an attack on the bitcoin network it self, and even they will they would need a tremendous amount of computing power, some time ago i read a post on how many computers does it take to mine 1 btc and the answer was 50 billion slandered cups, so imagine how much more to crak the whole network, if there is someone who is able to do such thing is the government and that is in order to take it down and remove its threat on the fiat situation.

Since you don't produce a fact or evidence to support your claim I will assume that it is your own opinion. At this stage of Bitcoin development through out the years of passing through rough and hard ways , It is not easy for any group to attach it.

Today, a lot of negative information is expressed in the address of Bitcoin.  In most cases, this information is unreasonable and has nothing to do with reality.  Over the entire history of Bitcoin, no one doubted his leadership in the cryptocurrency market, and today's results show good prospects for the future.
