Hi i have 2 Whatsminer m3x.

First has i think latest fw from 18.01.2019 which is good adn fun speed is ~3700 that is ok.

But second ASIC has old fw from 30.05.2018 and on same temp has ~1000 more fun speed than first always.

Both miners are in same room, the distance between these two is about 30cm and both are in a ventilated room.

I need latest fw for secon miner like first because lower noise, better fun control and better efficiency.

I cant find this fw for my second miner.

Both miners were purchased as used.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Hello Myl0sh!

I am facing a quite similar issue.
I tried to upgrade the firmware using the TGZ file and now the M3x is unstable, rebooting every 2 minutes.
How did you do to downgrade the firmware?

Thanks man!

You should be able to do firmware upgrades with the WhatsminerTool.

See chapter 2 here --->

Hello HagssFIN
I´ve tried what is shown on the guide, multiple times, exactly how it is, but no success.

Now I am only able to switch firmwares if they are the .bin files.
If I try to install the TGZ file, it won´t load, shows a Failed Status.
I tried using the WhatsMiner Tool v2.1 and the v3.4.6, and they both are failing.

If I load the lastest upgrade-whatsminer-bt1000-20190404.18.1.bin the Miner keeps rebooting CGMiner every 2 minutes and sometimes does not recognize the Hash Boards.
If I load the upgrade-whatsminer-bt1000-20190118.17.1.bin, the Miner reboots every 10-15 minutes and doesn't go full power, and dont recognize one of the Hash Boards.

I´ve thought that this could be because of the Control Board firmware that is not up to date, so I´ve tried to update it but I couldn´t even create the SD Card properly.
I followed the manual for upgrading the controller, but the SD Card is always shown as Empty and I check its properties, and has no files in it. So it is failing to create.

You can see I am facing many issues.
Your help is really appreciated.
Thanks man!

Me neither....LOL
The guides they have are very weak.
Its hard to find more information about them.
I think I will have to open a ticket with them, anyways.

How about trying to flash the miner with SD card?

It seems it's compatible with Whatsminer m3 according to pangolinminer why not try their SD card recovery.

Check this guide: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Tc-5QgK48ZomWMpB62DfqnOapJv0_Yx3/view

And this for SD card files: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/12MQqtbh1jNu20zBdxWYra4OdddnxQGvw?usp=sharing

Just check the control board if they are the same as the image under the guide.

No my PC is newly formatted all my ASIC files are gone and the source form the link I provided before is no longer available or the files are deleted.

Why not use the firmware from whatsminer support? It should be available there just in case you  don't know check the link below.

You *are* using a disk imaging program and not just copying it to the card right?...

Yeah I’ve tried using rufus and the one they provide too

I’ve had four hashboards dying on me now and it’s only been a week since I’ve set up surely this isn’t normal?

Are you talking about hashboard or a control board?

That's pretty bad better check the control board model first before trying to flash it through the SD card if you flash it with the wrong firmware it may brick your unit.

I suggest check the control board and only use the Phoenix tool that they provided.

Also, check the SD card you use and maybe that is the reason why it dies some fake SD cards when burning firmware it turn corrupted. So make sure you have an extra SD card and make sure you are using an authentic SD card.
Also, try to disable the Antivirus and maybe your AV restricting Phoenix tool from burning firmware it sometimes corrupts the data from the image detected as a mining virus which we know false-postive.
