It's also a good solution and similar to our ___ version. In our version we are using ____ like he's using transparent fffff: fffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff
| 150px x 150px Bitcoin logo Now without any width attribute it's displayed as 150px x 150px
|
ffff not transparent for demonstration
Funny there is no mention of the display rendering bug in the first column of a table. I think this is a problem with either SMF, Bitcointalk, or the particular version of SMF used in bitcointalk (or some modding done by the admin). Thing is the first column will be too thin. And, this doesn't show in the preview, only when you post. Using ___ is a clever way to force the width. Another is to simply bypass the first column entirely by having an empty one. | many words many words many words many words many words many words many words many words many words | many words many words many words many words many words many words many words many words many words | many words many words many words many words many words many words many words many words many words |
vs | many words many words many words many words many words many words many words many words many words | many words many words many words many words many words many words many words many words many words | many words many words many words many words many words many words many words many words many words |
Good point! I've added this to my OP. Almost forgotten about it and I remember o_e_l_e_o had a good solution ( here). Sums up perfectly our problem.
Some people don't want the use of underscore ("_") char because it's not needed, of course, it can be made transparent by color code.
But ___ is a nice way to divide the header from the rest of the table. ("_")

Thanks for your translation and sorry for my late reply, I didn't saw it until now.
I've added a very detailed tutorial about the basics how to create tables written by so98nn: In general, it helps to understand the BBCode how tables are working, good read.

Hello, dear Egii Nna Your translation got approved, I've added it to my list: Many thanks for providing a translation about my topic. Tables are always tricky to understand but formatted correcly, tables are very helpful to present content and data.
If possible, maybe you can still edit your post here to remove your pyramid quote. And maybe the topic about pyramid quotes is also an interesting one for translation to your local board.

Thanks for the correction, sir. I have already corrected my mistake and am quite sure that many other members of my local board don’t understand anything concerning pyramid quotes. I will like to use your suggestion to request the translation of the topic about pyramid quotes to my local board.

You can also use BBcode [nobsp] for a non-breaking space to avoid text in columns being broken up in multiple lines.
Sure, Unicode U+2800 likely works too but it's kind of a hack as this is the Braille Space character. Pedantic users should probably opt for the correct Unicode character for a non-breaking space which is U+00A0, but I haven't tried it and so far can't confirm it's rendered properly by SMF code used for this forum.

sorry need to Bump! @1miau Because styling tables can be time-consuming, inspired by this thread, I'm trying to create a tool to make it easier to apply all the templates listed in this thread using a generator tool. If you'd like to try it, please visit https://signatools.net/public/table-generator.php for normal table without any list content, typing format: column 1, column 2, column 3
example result: for a table with list content, typing format: column1; list:a, b, c; column 3
example result:

@TypoTonic Thank you. I'm currently trying to create some additional features, and looking at the table you sent, I missed one important point: newlines within a single cell. The table currently don't have the capacity to do that. So far the table can only add one line per cell. The update will likely be available in the next few hours to makes the cell supports for new line. Please give it a try, and let me know if there are any errors.

The update will likely be available in the next few hours to makes the cell supports for new line. Please give it a try, and let me know if there are any errors.
I've been playing with it for a bit and I've already seen some changes like: - Having a separate area for the guide instead of being a placeholder text
- Improvements in UI/UX
- New lines in a single cell
A couple issues I noticed in my experience: - The live preview doesn't show the text with arrow in a new line (works fine in the forum).
- Wrapping a comma in asterisks inside a list, still creates a new line within the list (works fine on normal lines of text).
- It might be hard to distinguish delimiters from commas that are part of the text. I recommend users to use the table with list template because of this. Having semi-colon as the delimiter allows the use of comma even without wrapping it in asterisk.
Header Column 1; Header Column 2 This text contains a literal comma*,* and arrow (*->*), which will not break the table. -> Second line of text; My grocery list -> list: Milk*,* Eggs, Bread Other than that, it is a great tool. Awesome job! It's so easy to format multiple rows and columns with the style rules. It's a great way to quickly make a base table with data and a format you like, which you can still edit in the forum before posting. I know it's still under development but there is a lot of potential. Unfortunately it didn't fix my post issue. It seems to be a problem in mobile browsers if the text is too long in one column.

Header Column 1; Header Column 2 This text contains a literal comma*,* and arrow (*->*), which will not break the table. -> Second line of text; My grocery list -> list: Milk*,* Eggs, Bread Thanks for the testing! After several attempts, the parsing for *,* method for inserting commas within lists failed. I tried an alternative approach and it worked, to insert commas within lists, using %%. Double %'s are automatically parsed as commas, while single %'s remain as %. New format: Header Column 1; Header Column 2 This text contains a literal comma*,* and arrow (*->*), which will not break the table. -> Second line of text; My grocery list -> list: Milk%% Eggs, Bread I've also fixed the live preview. Regarding the mobile view of your table, it's likely due to the forum layout source, so it won't work even if you recreate it with this generator, as the display will shrink for long text. If you open it in desktop view, this shouldn't affect it, and I've checked it on my phone.

I've also fixed the live preview. If you open it in desktop view, this shouldn't affect it, and I've checked it on my phone. I see, that's good to know. I thought it was my fault, I spent so much time editing it and trying out different table layouts. I guess I'll just try to avoid super long sentences inside the table next time. Thanks for the time and effort!
