It has become clearly evident that bitcoin will dominate the world as the global number 1 cryptocurrency, that's is OK with me.
BUT...
what I am finding really frustrating is all the retail, and institutional money that will only ever flow into bitcoin and will never, ever touch any altcoins.
Sure bitcoin is the master, the supreme, the original crypto, but for gods sake, its now the only cryptocurrency.
Surely out of the 2000+ altcoins, some of these will be almost as powerful as bitcoin.

The altcoins have been smashed of late, purely by the greed of bitcoin, sucking up the global fiat money.

Every altcoin has been sold off and money shoveled into bitcoin.  WHEN IS THE PAIN GOING TO STOP!

This is the reason why you should not put all your money in one basket. In such a volatile market such as crypto it is always intelligent to diversify.

This not a fact! Institutional Investors are more likely going to invest in a project that's in line with their products and services and will help grow their business and not based on a coins rank. These investors are not just experimenting but in this to make money!

Actually, you have a loss of your money in altcoin, that's why you are really frustrated and blame on bitcoin. In this situation, if we convince you, so  may be you do disagree with us, because you have not bear your loss, that's why i only give you one suggestion, altcoin and bitcoin both are different on investment wise, in altcoin we have a lot of risk but in bitcoin we have little bit, and most of the chance you could earn profit from bitcoin.
So next time, invest your money only on Bitcoin.

Altcoins tend to be used to fund Bitcoin running, and Bitcoin tends to fund Altcoins operations. What you have to do if you are holding your altcoin for so long and it still not making profit is to sell them off.  Unburden yourself. The only that matters as of now is BTC, you will find Altcoins to be good later when BTC touches up to $25k+. Join the fun because its where the fun is. I got frustrated as well, I'm a holder of altcoins for so long I even have the ones that moved it s token to another platform.

      That's why we must be careful of our investment in altcoins because not all altcoin are strong in the market and it gonna crash easily if investors will dump their alt and invest in bitcoin but if the alts are strong and have a little demand in the market , that's pretty sure of increasing its value .

You need to decide which category an altcoin falls under for you. Is it s crappy coin that will be a short term investment to make a quick turn over to buy more bitcoins? Is it something that you can use to purchase with like doge ltc or xmr etc. Or is it like eth and is needed for longterm use? Maybe it counts as an investment in a company like stocks and you own that part of the company? Or is it s total shitcoin?

I would sell the shitcoin off asap but make sure it really is a shitcoin. Some people say something is a shitcoin but ive made profit from it. Then keep for a short term the coins you believe will only have a short life span. Anything else you believe in keep. Maybe you have master node coins so that's another longterm option. The coons with constant use kike the eth for tokens you going to need to keep some. Deciding on how much is up to you and what you can afford to risk. Always diversify.

      That's why we must be careful of our investment in altcoins because not all altcoin are strong in the market and it gonna crash easily if investors will dump their alt and invest in bitcoin but if the alts are strong and have a little demand in the market , that's pretty sure of increasing its value .

That is exactly the problem and difficulty in choosing the right altcoin for investment out the numerous alt present in the market obviously few of these coins do show and experience pumping once in a while but buying such type of alt out the numerous available is an herculean task rather its better to invest in bitcoin being the most traded with the highest volume and the most popular cryptocurrency.

The world of crypto currencies is full of competition so this competition is a natural thing. You can't blame Bitcoin and call Bitcoin greedy. You must think critically and wisely. You shouldn't be frustrated because you can develop a new strategy for playing in crypto currencies better and armed with experience. Bitcoin can be very popular and dominate the market because bitcoin is present indeed brings real benefits. People can feel the benefits of bitcoin in terms of facilitating transactions so that trust in bitcoin is increasing. Therefore, it is not because of the greed of bitcoin. You must be a more professional crypto currency player.

Greed is always a common thing with cryptocurrency, and what Op has experienced is a big issue. It isn't fair to blame the entire altcoins, there are potential altcoins that keeps growing along with the growth of bitcoin. Even if Op has invested on some IEO on Binance could've got back good return on the investment.

This is the reason whenever you're supposed to make an investment it is suggested to do their own research and invest. We don't know how the market will change in a short.

Your statement is only shows that you are a newbie in this industry. Whales are converting their tokens if they notice the fluctuation of bitcoin. We knew that we were just passed the transitional period of bear season. And the first thing that whales will buy is bitcoin because bitcoin declares the movement of all cryptocurrency. It was stereotyped already in bitcoin that it is the king of crypto and as a king, many whales are supporting it. In short, altcoins are just second option in this market.

When you decide invest on something risky, just prepare the worst.
Cryptocurrency mostly risky because of it's volatile value. I'm bitcoin investor and I consider it as risky investment.
Altcoin, IMO, far more risky so that's why I'm not very interest on them !

My frustration with bitcoin will diminish overtime as bitcoin dominance continues to fall and altcoin dominance continues to rise.  I splashed more cash on HST decision token again today instead of buying bitcoins.  Sometimes frustration gives me motivation to buy my way out of this problem.
