It has become clearly evident that bitcoin will dominate the world as the global number 1 cryptocurrency, that's is OK with me.
BUT...
what I am finding really frustrating is all the retail, and institutional money that will only ever flow into bitcoin and will never, ever touch any altcoins.
Sure bitcoin is the master, the supreme, the original crypto, but for gods sake, its now the only cryptocurrency.
Surely out of the 2000+ altcoins, some of these will be almost as powerful as bitcoin.

The altcoins have been smashed of late, purely by the greed of bitcoin, sucking up the global fiat money.

Every altcoin has been sold off and money shoveled into bitcoin.  WHEN IS THE PAIN GOING TO STOP!

Exactly, first and foremost before you enter crypto is to understand the risk beyond its goodness because all things in this world always have pros and cons, so if you are frustrated with bitcoin then I think you surely did not know its volatility and better quit than spreading fraud by your self experience of ignorance.

For me, it's your own decision why you are frustrated with bitcoin. Their are some altcoin out there created to aim to move into bitcoin you must know that because you said your an altcoin investor. You just need to know what altcoin is the most profitable, that's why many trader analysis when they will invest and when they will pull out to the next one. By the end of the day, it's all about the profit you make and the knowledge you gain, not the struggle you earn into those altcoins.

You know either bitcoin or altcoin only demands can make it's value up and down. Also before you invest you should know that investing is too risky. You might gain profit or you will loss your capital investment that's always reminders for everyone of us that we should only invest the amount that we can afford to lose. So that it will not become too much hurtful if ever our invesent will not gain profit. Don't blame bitcoin if why altcoin still not moving up. Wait more time,the right time for altcoin.

When more people invested in bitcoin and took their 2017 profits out of the bank to go back in even altcoin bag holders realized that the real profits are in bitcoin and sold to jump on the train with the rest of them.

What OP is being frustrated with is a normal market action where shitcoins are being abandoned because they just aren't that good.

It is normal to feel that pain feeling and frustrated on the Bitcoin that always gives impacts to the altcoins. However, I think that once you entered the crypto world, you know the risks and brave to take the risk. Bitcoin is the most valuable crypto. It is volatile and we can still hope for higher value again. But of course, the higher value of BTC may influence the altcoins that sometimes make them going down drastically. Be patient and keep fighting the market.

People who do not have any believe in the coin or get impatient with some full tend to sell it and in the end re on losing side . Consider that people thought when it reached back to 10k couple of days back they sold and now it is back again to 11.5k or more . So this is how they make losses .

Right, especially now that bitcoin is becoming bullish thus people will choose bitcoin over other altcoins, I know it can be frustrating that with bitcoins continuous success other altcoins are left behind which isn’t generating profits to investors so I would suggest you invest more in bitcoin and you can either hold the altcoin if there is a chance it will rise or you can use it as a payment or what not.

It is a sad moment that most investors are focusing only for Bitcoin or they give more into this coin and they just overlook into altcoins potentiality.
I'm also still holding some altcoins but I've never saw that it moves high instead it drops more.
Even that is a reason of it's dump, but I've never to blame them nor to Bitcoin cause that is what it be. We can't be hopeless just because of that, it sometimes the market will so unfair.
