HOW TO BUY BITCOIN IN SOUTH AFRICA

The South African Cryptocurrency market is constantly evolving and new players are entering the market frequently, each with their own unique strengths. We did our best to find and test the local South African based and operating Exchanges and to find out more about them.

Once you have decided to buy Bitcoin, making a standard EFT bank transfer to a Bitcoin Exchange is one of the safest ways to do this. Rand (ZAR) transfers are usually credited to your account within hours to days, depending on the bank that you have transferred from and to.

When your account is credited, you can use the South African Rand (ZAR) to buy Bitcoin, Ethereum and other Cryptocurrencies.

Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

We do not favor any exchange in particular.

The best is defined in terms of need e.g., I need to sell 5 BTC or I need to buy 10 ETH. That will determine which exchange is best to use at that moment for e.g. I can get 10 ETH for R50,000 at Luno or I can get 10 ETH at Altcointrader for R48,000

In our experience its then best to have accounts at all of them and then to act accordingly when needed.

Thanks for the answer. I have always argued that an exchange that dominates a market is useless on its own and the presence of competition brings opportunity (arbitrage and the like)
