Been ages since I logged on. Years. Updated the Bitcoin Core and Armory, they were way old. Well before updating it showed my balances fine but I knew I was way out of date. So install, and.... stop.
Came here, read links. Made sure the right folder was used in Armory. Did lots of tweaking. Waiting 48 hours. Nothing. Would appreciate any direction.
The ArmoryQT.exe.log shows errors, a help?:
(ERROR) ArmoryUtils.pyc:3735 - Unsupported language specified. I'll try to get the log file parsed for here.

Went to 96.0, didn't realize I was on beta. On startup I receive the error: "Disconnected. Connection to Bitcoin Core client lost! Armory cannot send nor receive bitcoins until connection is re-established."
I bet that's not uncommon.

Wait, which version were you on before you went to 0.96? You should be on 0.96.5.

Core is failing to start in the first place. Please run Bitcoin-Qt manually and report.

You should be running Bitcoin Core v0.18.0 and you should be using Armory 0.96.5 that is available from the link in goatpig's signature: https://btcarmory.com/DO NOT use the Armory from https://www.bitcoinarmory.com/

I was on 96.5 but then saw it was a beta so went back. Back on 96.5 now. Core is failing to start in the first place. Please run Bitcoin-Qt manually and report.
Core is latest version. Ran it, it took about 3 minutes to update. Then I ran 0.96.5 and after the startup screen got the Disconnected message here: https://ibb.co/vB3NcMvThought that was the one I was using but installed from your link, and it appears to be the same. After clearing the "Disconnected" error message I have Node Status green, Build Databases is grayed out, and I'm not even to Scanning transaction history. Thanks for the help everyone.

1) Delete the content of this folder: C:\Users\aorob\AppData\Roaming\Armory\databases
2) Make sure no instance of ArmoryDB is running. 3) Start Armory.

IT WORKED I AM ONLINE!!! Thank you so much!!!!
Now if I can be a small bother one more time, where do I go from here? I go to pages to buy stuff and get a Bitpay link and can't do anything with that. Moving the btc to another program costs money each time.
I really appreciate all your help, thank you!

Bitpay is cancer. However, you can use this tool to get the address out of the stupid bitpay link: https://alexk111.github.io/DeBitpay/You can also download the tool itself and run it locally (to be safe against future changes etc.). Note that i didn't use this tool, so i can not guarantee that it works 100%. However, quite a few people already had success using this tool and i don't know a single case where it didn't work / something wrong happened.

Hi Goatpig, Thank you for the great help. I have been using Armory since its beginning and suddenly I had a problem. I have sat in the background and read all the posts, especially from you and I tried things as suggested. Armory would not stop saying Connected (0 Blocks) and it would stop processing at a certain block so i thought Bitcoin Core DB problem. So finally i reluctantly deleted and reinstalled (ie reloaded) Bitcoin Core since it would not go past a certain block. Took 12 hours but OK. Wiped the Armory database as you suggested and upgraded from 0.96.3 to 0.96.5 along with Bitcoin Core 0.18.0 (which i already had) and I have my bitcoins again. Thanks to all bitcoiners who have helped. Steve

Okay it broke again.
I noticed Armory was offline, even though it showed a balance and was supposedly up to date. I closed Armory and opened Bitcoin Core and got an alert that the databases were corrupted. I said okay to a repair and it started with a date like seven years ago. Then it updated and all was fine, bit now I have the original problem back of Armory stalled.
So, do I need Bitcoin core? Is that the problem? I'm going to do the same fix, delete the files that made it work the first time, but this should not be happening I don't think.

So, do I need Bitcoin core?
Yes. How are you shutting down Bitcoin Core normally? Outside chance, but your hard drive that has the blockchain could be failing? Worth checking.

I shut them down by clicking File, Close. And I wait for the box saying it is shutting down to go away. Okay as it is rebuilding now I had a quick pop up from Malwarebytes: Outbound connection to 205.185.120.277 port 59103 blocked due to trojan
File trying to access: C:\Program Files\Bitcoin\daemon\bitcoind.exeSo I can either add an exclusion and let the file go to that IP, or something it up. My machine is clean. Maybe a false positive?

Yes, you can simply add a rule to allow outgoing connections from core. 'Suspicious' outgoing connections get blocked relatively often since AV's believe it is some malware which tries to communicate with a C&C server / download further code to execute. If your machine is clean (i.e. no 'fake core' or malware which integrated itself into the core process), it is a false positive and you can ignore it.

I decided I better run Armory every few days to keep things current so I do not have issues again. Well I ran it two days ago fine and today the update wheel is stuck on "build databases." Seems I have to keep deleting the databases as instructed above? This will get old fast. Sigh.
In other news, my C: drive is almost full, how can I move the database files to my rather empty D: drive and have Armory see the new location?

Simply move it to your new drive and adjust the config file of armory, named armoryqt.conf in your armory data directory (usually located in C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Armory\): satoshi-datadir="/path/to/bitcoin/core/blockchain" dbdir="/path/to/armory/db"
