How does the win streak feature work?

and when I got a highscore in 2048, this error came up:

so I didn't get extra coins that I was supposed to I'm pretty sure.

This happened twice, then once I got "you are top dog" and got some extra coins.

If you set the top score, you get your 2 gamerholic coins play fee back.
