Cupa Regelui & Cupa Reginei la Oina 2019 and beyond..

This is a long shot. I doubt if anyone of you have ever heard of this sport, let alone discuss it. But here it goes.

Let us talk about Oina or Hoyna as it is called here. It is a baseball like sport. Very similar but shorter games.
You can look in google or wikipedia about it.

Recently, in may the King's cup and the Queen's cup competition was held.
The king's cup was won by Straja Bucharest. They don't have a website but you can find them on facebook ast @Straja.oina
The queen's cup was won by Bailesti Progressi club from Otlenia.


So is there anyone here that follows Oina or is from Romania or Moldova? Let's discuss the future of the sport.
Maybe I will have enough discussers here to do a betting game next year for the next King's / Queen's cups.

I always wondered what was the predecessor game to Baseball was. I used to think it was cricket, I had absolutely no idea that a sport like this Oina even existed. Now that I have googled about it a little, I am definitely more interested in following this sport. Is it covered by any TV channel in Romania or anywhere else?   In any case, thank you for bringing this to my attention.

I am equally shocked to learn the existence of this sport just like you. Seems pretty fun, but the lack of even Youtube videos on this sport seems to suggest that there isn't much coverage on this sport. I think that is the state of most national or traditional sport everywhere on Earth and not just limited to Romania though.

True but at least in some cases, traditional sports are being revived. For instance Kabaddi in India has gotten a lot of cash and media injection into it recently.
