THat's really stupid. He should just start accepting crypto. We have place here that sells miners and they have a small cafe where you can use crypto to pay for your coffee or whatever you order.

"Transacting with any type of decentralized cryptocurrency can get you up to 12 years in jail and it has been so for almost three years."

Seriously what a shithole country. throwing people in jail for nothing. There is something seriously wrong with you if you want to throw people in a cage. You are given a life and you can do what you want with it. The government must fuck off with its useless laws. I mean the government there actually threatens its citizens. Why would you even want to pay tax to a government that threatens its own people? Paying tax there is like helping corruption and stupidity.

If I lived there I would wear bitcoin shirts and plaster bitcoin adverts all over the damn place and make a website about it and blast it on social media. They said trading was illegal they said nothing about talking about it. They only discouraged it. You have to fight back you can't take that sitting down. Thank goodness I do not live in a ridiculous country like that. We may have our problems but at least we don't take people's freedom away.

The Bangladesh Government honestly sounds like a bunch of thugs.

For someone who isn't even a Bangladeshi you have summed up the current autocratic and corrupted situation in Bangladesh perfectly. It is even more unthinkable that Bangladesh government does not allow people to use PayPal let alone cryptocurrencies in this age.

Yes, but you have to know that we have limitations, every country have its own way to Govern they people, maybe they are being unfair or what for you but the law is the law, if you don't want that, then you must be an asshole that only knows how to trash talk the Government but a coward in real life.

The government must fuck off with its useless laws. I mean the government there actually threatens its citizens. Why would you even want to pay tax to a government that threatens its own people? Paying tax there is like helping corruption and stupidity.

I agree that there are useless laws, but again, paying taxes is your responsibility as you are a regular citizen of a certain country, unless you're an alien or maybe you're just an airhead person who preach things that you didn't even know what for, if there are no taxes, you will not have whatever do you own because everything in the society is being controlled by taxes (by the Government)

wow cafe is very unusual and very beautiful in my opinion there may be many people who come there to drink a glass of coffee because now many people visit a cozy and beautiful cafe like the cafe in the picture maybe in my opinion it is very good idea to promote bitcoin with cafe design with various cryptocurrency coins, honestly I am very interesting to see a cafe whose design is full of images of bitcoin and other altcoins.

In Bangladesh, people are not allowed to use bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency. Govt has declared it illegal. The great news is our current Finance Ministry is thinking over it and we will probably be seen Bitcoin legal in the coming years.
In Dhanmondi, there's a cafe namely "The Bitcoin Cafe". Although they don't accept bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency, I see it as a great way of promotion, people will learn more about Bitcoin and cryptocurrency. I have visited this cafe 2 times and asked to pay with Bitcoin but he wasn't agreed.

Photos are taken from google review.
Interesting place that maybe the cafe owner got rich because of bitcoin and he created a business whose design is bitcoin. And he shows that in bitcoin he started and now has his own business because of bitcoin.

it is a unique and good way of promotion. that way ordinary people who don't understand bitcoin will start asking about bitcoin. and when they are interested they will start to learn bitcoin and cryptocurrency. and when they have understood they will definitely start trying to invest in bitcoin. I think this is a great way to attract bitcoin investors and also attract customers to the cafe. I'm sure most crypto users will be interested in visiting the cafe.

Wow. I wish there will be more such cafes. It is a great way of promotion. I hope the law will change soon, because it won't have desired effect without accepting bitcoin and cryptocurrency as a payment.

It sounds weird that they promote Bitcoin through their cafe idea but they're not accepting it as a mode of payment. I guess it would be better if they would practice accepting it to justify their crypto promotion. I wish that there would be more cafe or even merchants that would get interested in this kind of idea. It will surely attract both costumers and investors.

If they will accept the Bitcoin then their cafe will be closed soon and the owner will be spending time in JaiL as using BITCOIN in their country is Illegal!
The name is used for a simple protest to their government i think.I am so lucky that cryptocurrency is very popular here in my country and can be used as payment!

You are right about the jail thing because if the owner starts accepting bitcoin then he will be looking for 4 to 12 years of jail time under the current money laundering act in Bangladesh. But even if this sounds awful but since the Prime Minister declared that her government would encourage the IT department and people to do thorough research on blockchain I believe many influential institutions, universities in here have come forward with ideas, seminars to spread out blockchain's ways of working like this below picture shows the seminar hosted by the department Head of Computer Science of Daffodil University which is one of the best private universities in Bangladesh a couple of weeks ago. Department Head of CSe, Prof. Dr. Syed Akhter Hossain shared his experience with the students. This is really encouraging despite all those backward laws of prohibiting people from using Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies.

If anyone from Bangladesh is interested to listen to Prof. Dr. Syed Akhter Hossain bit from the seminar then here's the link https://www.facebook.com/www.campustv.ac/videos/405339073475244/

Actually, it is true that there are facilities available to be able to use bitcoin transactions for any purpose, is a progress that can be used and can support more known to many people. but if I actually make a transaction with bitcoin it makes me confused, especially not all countries have received payment. it's better to exchange it for fiat money, then make a transaction.

thats why you need to ask first the people that you are going to send money   . ask if btc is accepted on thier country , if yes then i would prefer btc over fiat and other payment transfer because btc is more faster and easier  . if not then your always welcome to use your fiat convert it with the accepted payment method availabe on thiers  .  on our place there are also cafe here  . its actually a literal cafe ( coffe shop ) and they accept cryptos such as btc but they thier name and design are not related to btc/cryptos  .

Bangladesh is a small country. There are many freelancers in this country. Many unemployed youths will be able to earn a living through this, given the government's currency. Due to lack of flexibility, many freelancers are unable to accept their payments through the currency. I thank the government for such an initiative.

Thank you for sharing this, although in my country, it's not illegal but no one accepts BTC anywhere. Hope soon each govt will realize the demand of BTC and legalize it.

I had done some outsourcing from Bangladesh and wasn't able to pay the freelancer with Paypal, askef them to accept BTC but they didn't. Having outsourced from Bangladesh is really the worst only because of payment method.

This Bitcoin cafe is just a great marketing ploy. Must be the opening of this institution coincided with the rapid growth of prices of cryptocurrencies. People try to attract attention to their business in different ways. This way gastronomic sector may be of interest to visitors with the help of new technologies and cryptocurrencies.

That's really funny actually. A Bitcoin cafe but the people there aren't able to spend Bitcoin or any other crypto-currencies in store.

It's a great work around the government's rules, just because you can't use and buy Bitcoin, doesn't mean you can't plaster it everywhere. I have no doubts that the owner of the cafe has a nice Bitcoin fund himself.

In recent months, bitcoin adoption is slowly growing - we saw china getting lax with their own rules and I reckon your country will as well.

One good thing about this cafe is that although they cannot use bitcoin for payments since it is banned, they were still able to find another way to promote bitcoin. Though it's kinda funny promoting bitcoin as a country who can't use it as well. What's the point of promotion? The thing is, there are possible foreign customers they can target with the promotion and also it's like an indirect rally against banning of bitcoin in their country.

We are hoping for the best cryptocurrency promotion worldwide. But I think that they are not necessarily paid by Bitcoin for coffee. Stable coins are probably best for this.
