I think the forum could use a few more sources and Alex_Sr and 1miau would fit the job as I think they are contributing at the moment with their posts, and probably they would take there source responsibility serious ....
They both are very regular and I think dailey forum user as I am too, thats always a good point as well I think...

As I do think some sources let merit go to waste... and also many legendary are through there airdrops and be most of the times out of Smerits as well.

So imo I think sources could use an increase of Smerits as well, I do like to merit a newer member where it fits, but I also like to merit members with high activity (establish't true BTCtalk members)  to help them to rank up, off-course on somewhat good posts or with some good effort to be on the spot with things....  As long as a member is here with right intentions and willing to learn they can earn merit (not all of us are tech scientist), so when someone is helping the space its good! But I feel that some sources probably get exhausted quickly and I for one will not let a single merit go to waste!

Legendary sometimes not gain merit cause they already are Legendary, though sometimes they like to earn as well cause it points out they are respected and they just like to earn as well for there work in the space...

From my first source merits I was out in I think 15 days or something, I thought to divide them over the month so I get everyday same Smerit to send, but then again I saw that wasn't the right way.... When I read something that's OT or good for other people to read etc then I just need to send out a merit no matter if i'm gonna get exhausted or not.

We have a good community on BTCtalk and many good members that like to earn some merit, as a earned merit stands for being good contributing to this space, so please give us a few more sources as the ones who asking for it at the moment (they just are good to help imo) and increase a few sources, I hate the second half of the month being dry and lesser able to send some out....

Thx Micg an BTCtalk original member that likes to help where he can!!

I spend the majority of the month with 0 source merits, and spending largely from my own supply, which is usually sitting in the single digits. I often find myself deliberately rationing my sMerits so I have some to award in the coming days. I am also very aware that since I quite like to merit lower ranked members, I end up skipping over very good posts by more established members, which I would ideally like to merit as well.

If theymos is adjusting source allocations, I would like to humbly request an increase. Smiley

Yeah me too! I would merit your post but I am also out of source merits and want to save my stash for people with, well, less earned merits than me, for starters. I started out with a piddly amount of monthly source merits. Its a special day when I see one pop up when I go to send a merit. I'm thinking about hoarding them all till the 1st so I know when they expire again.

Yeah, I do want as well... as I never stack own earned merits.... I instant use them as well cause thats what there for  Smiley

But with all exhausted airdrops and many users to merit I think we could use Some increase of source merits.

Spending my last two sMerits within this post as I'm not good at hoarding them. Whenever I get some, I like to spend it on someone worthy of it as well. I, second too that merit source should be increased.

Yeah also as a source I feel somehow its not that bad to send out 2 merits so the receiving party gain a Sm as well
Sources just shouldn't feel like they haven't got enough merit to send, I think if we do some good jobs to the forum and send our merit with good care/intentions we should get some more, as we only wanna do good to the place.... and non of us as far as I know are merit misusers of any kind....

I often have zero merit, source and personal. I almost always am able to spend my merit quickly after I receive it. I also currently have a backlog of submissions on my merit giveaway thread due to a lack of merit to give out (I haven’t reviewed them yet because of this reason).

Possibly the first time I’ve agreed or sided with you in a while but I do think it’d be really good for the forum as a whole if current Merit Sources had their source merit income increased, possibly doubled or even trebled. I simply do not have enough to go around.

I’m glad I’m not a Newbie now, I can probably count on one hand the amount of noobs who have managed to make Senior Member.

I am surprised that so many sources are complaining that their merit stash is not enough to merit more merit worthy posts.
I have never tried to find any official figures but I always thought that those stashes were much higher since I have seen users awarding 3-4 or more merits per post. Even I was lucky enough to get 4 at one time a few days ago. I guess it depends.

Yeah I do think we can manage to keep those who doesn't deserve merit out of merit, but I do believe we must be the system that circulate merit through other Legendary or establisht members so they as well can keep working as they do..... we just need to avoid sending to wrong members and I think we do a good job and we should be heard over this matter to keep doing a good job and keep this place healthy, new and old members need to be awarded with merit, exactly as o_e_l_e_o said..... he can often not send merit to some older accounts or legendary cause he must make a decision of sending them or newer members, and this issue cannot be a problem as we need and want a healthy merit circulation!

o_e_l_e_o and me for example have received a lot of merit and we are continuously out of source as personal merit, that just means we need more to complete out task in the forum

I do hope we get heard and get somekind of help from theymos .....

I don't ask for much, but if a person wants to help out and does the job he needs to do good.... then I hope this issue isn't gonna be a problem, help us out when you got some time to do so, Thx

Let me say something very simple

d_eddie for example is a very good, useful, estlblisht member.... so let say he makes a good contributing post, the I would say when you're a source, then its your duty to merit a member as him and probably 2-3-or 4 or something....

Why?

Cause this way he can rank up and he is a proven contributing member with a very clear and right opinion to judge where to recent his received merit, so this way he can help out as well.....

*this name is one of the many undermerited members of the forum....

I've added myself to the list too. I'm one spot above bones261, while I know he has a larger source amount. In January, mine was increased from 200 to 400 sMerit. This topic makes me realize once more that's a luxurious position to be in Smiley
At the increase, I expected I'd have to give more than 1 Merit per post to empty it, but I'm still giving just 1 most of the time. I do merit more posts though.
If I'm "slacking" for just a few days, there's a huge amount piling up that feels like my duty to quickly distribute. I've been working hard to get "my own stash" down, it peaked at 560 recently, and is now down to 477.

I often find myself deliberately rationing my sMerits so I have some to award in the coming days.
I do that on my mobile Tongue And I often post my own name from mobile to use Maggiordome to summon myself to Merit a post. I've considered applying my Mobile to be a source too, I think hilariousetc did that too.

Wow, you exhaust your source merit and only give out one at a time? That is a great deal of reading and rewarding! I give out 2 at a time and with the smerit that I earn, I only tend to run out every once in a while. I'm not certain that I am capable of meriting 500+ individual posts per month. You are a true merit cycling legend.
BTW, if theymos is taking into consideration whether to up certain individual's source merit, I personally think that I am in the Goldilocks zone.

Yes, I think increasing the source allocation to those who are using it up, and are distributing it to good posts, should get a bit of an increase. Also, we could use a couple more good merit sources. Even with the increase, I do not suspect account farmers and spammers are going to get too much love.

I ask that users post links to at least two posts that are “good” that they have written so I can review them to receive merit from me. I often have submissions with much more than 2 examples of merit deserving posts, however due to a lack of merit, I often give out 1-2 merit per submission to my thread, meaning I often will end up giving out less than one merit per post.
