You can use P2P platforms instead. The forums, Paxful or Localbitcoins.

The procedure will be: His PayPal => Bitcoin (or his PP => your PP => BTC) If he can't trade himself for some reason.

You can try buying bitcoin through Bisq[1]. While trading volume is really bad there, it's one of the best options right now if you want something that's non-custodial and peer-to-peer. If you don't like the prices listed, you can create your own buy offer and wait for a while.

@MouKanga

No, you're fine and can buy at any place like an exchange, etc. Don't really need to use LocalBitcoin, Bisq, etc.

The thing is you forget to think about something. The taxes.
I know in Germany you don't have to pay any taxes if you hold since 1 year. So if you do some transactions already (for yourself) Be careful to not mix with your personal use.

I mean, be sure to be able to prove you bought your bitcoins over a year ago. Otherwise, they could think you sold some bitcoins bought this year ( the coins bought for your friend)

note: Don't forget Paypal will ask you a second time for an ID verification once you receive 2500€/year

Yeah, Localbitcoins was great solution. I was using them often without any problems.
Since October 1 they will add KYC procedure. So if you do not want to share with them your personal data - do not use it.
I think people can use that exchange without any KYC for $2000 per annum which is good for the one time sellers or buyers.

In my opinion, the best way of buying Bitcoin is to do it online. You can register on an exchange or use the platforms where you can purchase Bitcoin using your credit card. buycoinnow could be a great example of that kind of websites. It's definitely the quickest and easiest way of buying btc.

Paypal is undoubtedly one of the worst methods to deal with cryptocurrencies. If you have a friend or family member who is willing to help you out, then only should you do this type of trade. You could look into the currency exchange section of this forum to ask for trade but be warned that this section of the forum is filled with scammers. Paypal scams dont seem like scams at first, but the person you are dealing with  the buyer can do a chargeback to reverse the payment several months later and you would be in a problem. Moreover if you bank finds out you are dealing with crypto they have the right to ask you for KYC and even sue you depending on local laws on crypto.

Your best choice would be to sign up on a exchange which accepts German currency and sell your coins there. Use that to pay whoever you need to.

Bottom line is that if you are willing to keep it safe, do no trade into shady stuff, you will get caught and if you dont follow the local rules you are only endangering yourself.

He is trading with his friend. He dont have any trust issue. Why would your friend that you help him make a charge back?
