MEW connect with old private key?

I wanna run the new MEWconnect app with my old wallet.
Except I need 24 word recovery phrase, which didn't come with the older wallet.

There doesn't seem to be a way to get one on the myetherwallet site.

Do I need to start a new wallet on MEWconnect?
Once there can you combine the wallets?

if you have your private key, download imtoken or trust wallet, access your wallet with the private key these two wallet have an option where you can get your mnemonic words to use on MEWconnect. I hope that works

You can get your private key of MEW wallet if you logged in or you cannot recover your wallet and I did tried MEW when it was beta where they don't have such option to enter old private key but not sure about the current version.

You can't do that. Mewconnect account is separate to your MyEtherWallet account. I been looking to connect Mewconnect to my MyEtherWallet account as it's not possible because mewconnect is like a hardware wallet on your phone. If you want to send tokens or eth using your mewconnect, you need to connect by using access my wallet via mewconnect. Mewconnect is way more safer compared to Mew wallet online.
