Hi

I have 2 mining rigs with 12 cards in, and I’m now going to start building number 3.
When I was looking for a new frame, I came over this one:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32864195264.html?storeId=3684115&spm=2114.12010612.8148356.59.538b6456ZHCnSS

What your thoughts are on the frame?
And I am wondering if anyone has used it?

The rigs I have now have good space between the cards, and this one looks like they just have a few centimeters each.  Will this be a problem for the temp on the cards?

Haven't used it but did use similar ones like it. It will depend on the type of GPU you have (does they run hot? reference/blower model? single fan? etc..) but generally when you have GPUs so close to each other, you install aux fans. So thats why there are holes on each row, for the fans.

But then additional fans mean more power consumed and less profit. Also, DIY rig racks/cases are always cheaper. You don't need fancy rig cases like this to mine.

I have 24 RX 580 running at 40-55 °C. Each card is almost 10 centimeters apart. Fan speed is at 40%
RIG1: 12 x Sapphire Radeon RX 580 Nitro+
RIG2: 12 x Asus Radeon RX 580 ROG Strix Gaming OC

How much do you think the temp will rise?

I have seen a lot of DIY rigs, but when i calculate the material and shipping, then they are always more expensive then these frames.

temps wont rise so much
just three to four degrees here and there
which can be offset for a little increase in fan speeds of the gpus

I would recommend the Veddha V3C 6-GPU for a similar setup 3 of them will be like $90 on Amazon...

Or 2 Veddha V3C 8-GPU only $34.99 each.

Also Veddha frames are well known quality rig frames.

`

Well, each rig has 12 GPUs and I don’t want to scale down on GPUs per rig.

So, anyone have a good recommendation for 12 GPU frame?

Found this on Amazon, any inputs on it?

This one has some better height between cards: https://www.amazon.com/LAWOHO-Miner-Case-GPU-Cryptocurrency/dp/B07K58KJ3K/ref=as_li_ss_tl?keywords=12+GPU+Miner+Case&qid=1563972489&s=electronics&sr=1-2&th=1&linkCode=ll1&tag=mylifegadgets-20&linkId=2efbddb6aa08eb8efa10b79348f8e7a1 but not sure about the fans.

You can fit as many as you want, with room to grow

https://www.amazon.com/Storage-Shelving-Casters-Restaurant-Kitchen/dp/B07FXH81ZT/ref=sr_1_11?keywords=5-Shelf+Shelving+Storage+Unit%2C+Metal+Organizer&qid=1564776899&s=gateway&sr=8-11

I've changed it since this photo, but you can fit 48 GPUs on it without trying.

“How did you go bankrupt?” Bill asked.

“Two ways,” Mike said. “Gradually and then suddenly.”

I just built a rig with one of those.  The gpu's don't have good/solid bottom support, as they "rest" on the rail.

I'm going to add velcro under the riser cards along the rail so they can't float/move.

Also - a regular box fan would probably work just as well vs having all of those fans connected.

This one is a mix of GIGABYTE Aorus RX580 8GB, and a few MSI GAMING X RX580 8GB.

Temperatures are good, I target 68C (no A/C), seems to do just fine.  The spacing between GPU's is much wider than other rigs that have been running for 18months+.

I've been weeding out the 4GB cards over time, rebuilding rigs and cleaning up/servicing GPU fans along the way Smiley

I have a card rx570 coolers 60% cool, the temperature is from 52 to 58 degrees, the stand is assembled from aluminum profile.

I never made my brains out buying a frame for a farm. collected himself from a wooden bar, looks great when varnished. and the body is not heated

It looks not different than ikea's hyllis shelf unit. Check this one https://m2.ikea.com/us/en/p/hyllis-shelf-unit-indoor-outdoor-30428326/ and this one https://m2.ikea.com/us/en/p/hyllis-shelf-unit-indoor-outdoor-galvanized-00278578/

I suggest you stay away from stacked rigs like that.  If you were to monitor the cards on each row separately you will notice the cards on the bottom rack running the coolest with the cards on level 2, eating the eat from level 1, and level 3 eating the heat from levels 1 and 2.  If you set your cards to a maximum Temp.  They will start to throttle themselves as the temps increase.   If you want to maximize your hash rates.  Keep all racks on ground level.  Also don't be afraid to run your fans at 100%, unless the noise is an issue.
