If BTC is sent to an ETH address, what will happen to the BTC? Will the BTC reach the address and wallet? Or definitely lost?

If lost, how to retrieve the BTC?

To give you the answer I tried with Electrum and this is what I found:

So the summary is - you can not send BTC to an ETH address.

That’s not possible, there should be error on that kind of transaction but if its already approved or what then its already a lost to you. Everything that is transacted on blockchain can’t be edited, so always take care on putting addresses.

Many Wallet providers mechanism will make it read error meaning the wallet is incorrect, there was a day I mistakenly entered another altcoin wallet similar to bitcoin wallet in blockchain .com app, it just showed me it was incorrect address or the address is invalid. Should the transaction had been signed, it would have been loss forever, or maybe it might just bounce back, but am sure it will be loss forever.

There's always a reminder of the exchange that I use that says, always check the wallet address before sending any amount to my bitcoin address. And any other crypto that will be sent to the wallet will be permanently gone and won't be able to retrieve.
I haven't tried it personally but the screenshot above tells that it's impossible.

I don't think that will be possible.
because obviously the currency used is different. and maybe your digital money won't be sent so I don't think anyone will lose money. and when it is lost usually cryptic money or digital money cannot be taken back.

I think the system will warn the format of the wallet address to be sent.
Some systems have no warning, wallet format, for example ERC20 is 0x ...
If you send the wrong address, it may be sent to someone or an unrealistic address. Of course, this can't help you get your money back

Bitcoin address are limited to 26 to 35 characters if you include every form of them while the address of Ethereum is fixed to 42 characters (including the 0x), so almost all wallets would recognize the entered address is not correct for bitcoin and prompt it and deny the transaction.

You will always fail to send Bitcoin to Ethereum wallet, you can try the opposite if you send ethereum to the BTC wallet.
you will receive an invalid wallet address message.

in my opinion it will fail, because the address between Bitcoin and Ethereum is different, so the possibilities are 2, that is :
1. Bitcoin that you want transfer to Ethereum address will fail (error)
2. Bitcoin is successfully sent to your Ethereum address, but Bitcoin will disappear before the transaction is complete
so I'm sure Bitcoin can't be transferred using Ethereum address, then if Bitcoin you transfer is lost, I am sure there will be no way to return it.

Most probably if the transaction has passed through then there is no way to retrieve your btc back but most of the wallets do give an error when trying to send a different coin to some different blockchain.

You would definitely get an error when inputting an ETH address into a BTC wallet. So the answer is definitely NO!

You cant crosschain yet btc and eth are 2 entire different blockchains.

Ideally, the transaction is not suppose to go through but I don't know the wallet you are using, both have different address Structure and won't be recognized, but if the transaction was sent then that means you have lost your BTC, hope is not huge money

BTC use the different blockchain and remember bitcoin blockchain is not using the same algo with what already used by ethereum. when you are sending bitcoin to the ethereum and that will be erased and it must not be included in the bitcoin's circulation caused by your bitcoin already disappeared. You will definitely be lost your bitcoin.

I don't know about BTC but I have tried something similar with an ethereum wallet and I couldn't send the tokens because the wallet address wasn't accepted, I think same thing would apply to a BTC wallet too.

I think it's never been done before because there are parameters to follow about the string and the character, so even if you're that sleepy you cannot send bitcoin to an eth address, how did you come out with that question have you or any of your friend or you are just curious?

If BTC is sent to an ETH address, what will happen to the BTC? Will the BTC reach the address and wallet? Or definitely lost?

If lost, how to retrieve the BTC?

It will not disappear, because the BTC wallet format will not respond if you enter the ETH wallet address. When you enter the ETH wallet address and you send it will say 'Your wallet address is wrong'.
Unless you send BTC to the BTC address, but there are one or two numbers that are wrong on the BTC address, then BTC will be sent, and it will be lost, then it cannot be returned to the base wallet.
So don't think about sending BTC to ETH address, then BTC will change to ETH, or vice versa. Sending a token (erc20) to an ETH address will also not change to ETH. They have their own code.
But if you send an ERC20 token to any ETH address, the transaction process is successful. But it cannot be returned, because the ETH address does not have a key.

You cannot send any other assets to ETH address if they are not ERC-20 based tokens, otherwise you will lose your money. The same is with BTC address, where only BTC coins are accepted and no other crypto assets.

it can be identified through seeing how many characters of the address but when OP is still using an old version of the wallet and that will not available and that's why we are talking about the possibility of that case here. A coin sent to the different blockchain will totally disappear or got burned.
