does an Android phone wallet exist without the Google Services Framework?

I can't seem to find an Android phone wallet that does not require the use of Google Services Framework. I figured this would be the correct place to ask. Please help

I don't know if electrum requires it?
I had to uninstall Google play services because it was too big for my old phone to handle and I think I ran electrum on it (not sure if it's still the same though).

Google related services and frameworks only apply to pre-installed apps (installed apps that you will see upon opening a brand new phone for the first time), Google apps (GAPPS) and to some number of apps (not literally all apps in Google play). Like for example, most of the online games, it needs Google Play Services. The framework also covers most of the Android service components of the device.

Since your concern is about an app, you can test any app if they will work without the framework or Google Play Services. Just disable all the Google related services at the Settings > Apps (vary per Phone but easy to locate) since you can't remove or uninstall it unrooted then just install your preferred app.

Once disabled, you won't be able to update any apps via Playstore obviously. You won't now have a preview of others app as well if a new and updated version has arrived. To solve this, you must be updated and you need an .apk file of the latest version to overwrite the previous one. Sounds hassle indeed.

I can confirm electrum works.
I once used electrum on an offline android phone as a cold wallet and it signs and transfers QR code properly.
And my old phone was flashed a modified LineageOS without gsf.

BTW: Using electrum may not be secure now as most noobs can't use it in a safe way. It is not electrum's fault though.

Electrum for android is pretty safe. It's the safest version of electrum imo as it never listed warning messages like the desktop version did.

To avoid Google services try any Chinese gadget (L00 version) and app store
None of Google services are working there due to prohibition

The huawei L00 (if that's what you're referring to) doesn't really have any experience lost.

Play services aren't disabled as much as I'd like. You can't access the play store by normal methods but that's never an issue as you can use the online one, or pull apks from amazon instead... Although Google still has background management apps running which is annoying.


I doubt the open source android is without Google trackers? Maybe oxygen has less if that's publicly released.

On jellybean you could virtually disable everything (other than system ui and the homescreen and a couple of other vital apps needed).

You can use alternative stores to tackle this problem. Like f-droid, Aurora store, etc.
