So I just got my dentist final bill today. The guy worked on my teeth for a total of 2 hours (he was aft about half of the time) away from teeth.
Dentist gets paid $1650 an hour (if not more), sitting in a nice comfy air condition building. He can do his work 24/7 365 days a year, He cost of materials was much cheaper than a farmers and ROI is insane. He has only been a dentist for 2 years.

I been a farmer for 31 years,  82.5 baskets of cherries is what it would take to pay for 1 hour of his work, I give up 2-3 days of mine *JUST TO PICK* (when I can actually pick!, 250 days a year to get the cherries in that state ready to pick). I can only pick the cherries 1 month of the year.

I think it is about time us farmers jacked the fucking prices to the moon of the fruits of labour because were getting played, how much life span do you think I losed with the spray, ferts and sun beating me down while wearing a harness?

What a shit system. Btw farmers pay out of pocket for this shit. $3600+ for 2 hours of another mans work for 300 of mine. BULLSHIT SYSTEM! I hope you all starve. Who the fuck do you think keeps more people alive a year?

What you are experiencing is largely due to inflation. Of course naturally you want to blame the dentist, but he is just trying to get by too. The reason this is so out of whack is because of all the endless money printing, which causes huge market distortions and results in the disparity such as yours. The ones that can move the most money around the quickest benefit most, while those earning less end up suffering the lost loss of buying power via inflation. Stop blaming the dentist and blame the bankers.

Regarding food prices, the way things are shaping up there are already going to be food shortages and prices going up as large sections of farm land are experiencing huge losses this year, especially in the US due to flooding. This has been a historically bad year for farmers.

It is a smart idea to keep small-mid farmers around, just saying you don`t want them to own the food supply and all the food to be in concentrated areas for many reasons, diseases, natural disasters, tainting the food supply with cancer. #2late

I mean we're not going to disregard the fact that the Dentist went to school for about 10 years to be able to work on your teeth. He is certified by his state and has to continue to pass ongoing tests to ensure that he's up to date on new information relating to dental care.

Did you spend 10 years getting paid nothing to learn all of this information? Going into large amounts of debt in order to go to a good dental school?

They never do, at least here in Toronto, when I have a sign up that says $18 for a basket of cherries, they try and get it for $16 or $15 at the food terminal because they know I gata sell it or smell it. Not going to lie, I rather watch the shit rot in the fields and watch the mice eat it, then feed those types.

I planted 80,000 peach trees, 4 years when they are able to bare fruit, my government said they had a disease, they said I had to rip them out or they would and fine me. I replanted another 4 years they did the same thing, No compensation, 8 years lost. Btw, the only way that disease is spread is through aphids, they spread the disease to my farm from the neighborhoods as there is no decontamination process in between farms, they just show up and there is like 20 people in your field randomly not wearing new clothes from the last farm they went to and stepping in between farms spreading the aphids from the tainted farm to mine. (really they brought the bugs) Anyways I see through the b.s. they did it on purpose. To push the mid/small farmers out. So they can control the food supply.  


I never sprayed my fields with round up, or used any gmo food`s bitunlocker, I planted the watermelons with the black seeds, you know the real watermelons.

Think about that one, you are eating a GMO where the point of it is to un-fertilizer the seed's (the babies) of the next generation.

But then again, there's not as much of a barrier to entry (meaning the amount of education needed and required by law) in order to start a farm. I'm not trying to discount your business in the least, but you have to remember there are major differences in a business that is filled with manual labor and one that is a professional career which required expensive education, continuing education, and licensing and so on and so forth.

Its all about the demand and supply of product or profession so when we want a high paid job then we need to choose one.I am not disrespecting farmers but that is how they have been here,but I am sure that one day will come when one basket of cherries will be sold at $1000 or even more so hold on to it.

dentists are very expensive to educate, farmers exist in masses naturally, as its a very basic human drive to run that busness farmers are only rich when society is in chaos.

if farmers create a cartel, they will lose their property.

^ we had workers, not slaves. Yes we hired people from other countries. We had 5 Jamaicans that normally came down, one guy named Rubin we helped start his own farm back in Jamaica. We have not used any workers in over 20 years. In theory they are slaves but not because of us, because of the $cam $lave $ystem fiat, they traded their limited time for a unlimited money supply.

They were not illegal aliens or slaves tho, All of our workers got paid, and had a house to live in and came willingly and worked willingly not forced to.

We grow everything, peaches (mostly), cherries (2nd) then tons of stuff, beans, sunflowers, apples, pears, cucumbers, broccoli the list goes on.  

4 years after the disease we replanted for another 4 years, it takes 4 years for the peach trees to bare fruit. After that the farm went under brother. I cannot afford to fix my tractor and farm this season. A farmer can`t lose all of his income and put more income into the land (workers, oil, sprays, trees, irrigation, tax on the land), we took a negative for 8 years with no subsidiary`s.  We were only growing peaches at the time since we had a contract with KRAFT/DEL MONTE.

Dentists and other degree barrier fields keep the competition low so they can jack up prices on services that people need.  The medical industry is totally fucked up.

I am in severe pain so if I come off on this forum as a asshole imagine having 2 swords constantly shoved into your spine and having no way to fix it and when you asked for help you are told you are insane here take some crazy pills, let us hold you down and inject you randomly twice with some shit and abuse you, will let the cops abuse you on your way over, even tho we can see on your fucking mri`s you have a broken spine.

I can't also understand why some professions are being overrated which are not necessary. While farmers really are being underrated, In my opinion farmers should really deserves a lot of help from the government. Which is obviously not freaking happening.

A better way to improve farmers current situation is to find a solution that they can directly sell to the masses rather than having a middle man or establishments like super market. If this will happen the price will become much lower that the consumers will enjoy and a better profit for the farmers as there will be no more middle man getting involved that are also making the price goes up before it reaches to us.

Farmers give the best to the world but the farming products is not too encouraging in terms of pricing. It is sad that after farmers feeds us some of them still remains poor because the cost of their products in the market is very poor compared to other profession like Doctors, lawyers, and programmers. Why should they feed us and can not really afford the cost of health and legal matters?
