Can anyone please help me ID/figure out how to verify the contents of this physical bitcoin? https://i.postimg.cc/TYXYkMj3/IMG-20190711-032223-3.jpg

It was given to me by a friend who also has no idea as to it's origin or authenticity. I recall looking it up years ago when it was given to me and verifying it's contents but if I search the 12 character address on the coin nothing comes up now?!

The only information I've been able to find related to this coin is this post here: https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/25-btc-loaded-bitcoin-quarter-antique-504051551 while it shows an exact image of both sides of the coin, the rest of the information there is less than helpful...

If anyone could help me verify the authenticity or provide background on the coin that would be wonderful!

You covered the firtsbits on the holo. You need that to verify loaded btc value.

Enter that here https://www.walletexplorer.com/

I looked up the address and it says no results found on every site I've tried so far including the one you linked. I'm reluctant to peel the sticker as I feel this coin may be a collectors item based on how little information seems to exist on it.

I guess I could quit being paranoid and post the first bits: 12qArPwgEY

this is what the front looks like: https://thumbs.worthpoint.com/zoom/images2/1/0214/01/25-btc-loaded-bitcoin-quarter-antique_1_1de738e3bf6ce233cb32f67865afd7ef.jpg

So how do I go about loading it with only the first 12? I assume these are still secure as long as no one peels the sticker right?

Don’t load this coin. If it was sold as DIY by the creator, it means that one of the previous owners generated the keys. It’s possible that they have a copy of the keys which puts whatever you load on it at risk.

You could fish for a new hologram from one of the users here and rebuild the coin with your own generated key.  Wink

Nah. Tongue
It's better if you keep collectibles in the exact same state as when you've acquired them. Smiley

You can always print keys for a collectibles that comes with a detached holo, and put the holo on top of it, but this may devalue the item a lot.
