Of course, companies with such a huge capital as Amazon can kill ethereum if they want. They can also do the same with any other online , or offline business if they really want to, because big money always do what they want and companies of such a young market as the cryptocurrency market cannot resist them

I believe that they can hardly be competitors. The fact is that if even the services listed by you launch their own cryptocurrency, then it will only be used to pay for services and goods within these platforms. As for Etherium, it saboy represents the basis for the creation of both new cryptocurrencies, and new platforms, services and Dapps. Even on the basis of this information, we see different directions and applications. In any case, I believe that Etherium will retain leadership, and maybe even become more successful.

I am still confused about how big companies can turn off Ethereum. Indeed, they are a big company, but as the other members said above, Ethereum is a payment manner, not a company like them. So it would be better if they support each other and use ETH as one of the payment methods.

If they know they can actually take it then they might actually do something about it but at the same time why not take advantage of something that already exists if you want to use something in blockchain world instead of going out of your way and spending a ton of money and man hours to build something from zero if you are not going to take advantage of it.

Facebook for example is building libra because even if they do not take a single dime from the transaction fee's the best case they can do is sell your data to someone else according to what you spend the most of it on, if you buy milk then your info will be sent to milk companies, same with everything. That is why if you are going to utilize and make a decent return then yeah go ahead and do it but if not then they will probably not even try.

I do not think so. They might have the money, big partners and bigger employee. I do not that is the determining factor. How about "technical know-how", Empirical experience? it will not be that easily, if such will happen.

Ethereum has gained importance as the leading cryptocurrency next to bitcoin. There is nothing to worry about ethereum getting killed just because of the large companies getting into the payment process. Recently Apple has created its payment service render Apple pay. Those were centralized and ethereum is far beyond the same in terms of innovation. Maybe later years large scale companies will adopt the smart contract platform.

Why do you question that? Are you one of the culprit? Or do you want to build a new opinion to drop Ethereum?

I think Ethereum will survive well even though it will pop new coins managed by big companies like Facebook or Google.

Ethereum is widespread in every wallet. And it has been well tested that the ethereum platform is safer for storing ERC20 coins.

The ERC20 coin as a supporter of Ethereum is now very much. So my opinion is ethereum remains irreplaceable.

Logically: Bitcoin is the first coin to appear with the blockchain system, after that there are thousands of other coins. Has Bitcoin been defeated by thousands of new coins? certainly not.

It's possible for them to be an established currency in the market, but still I think people will not feel comfortable to use centralized currency. Have you seen the other post which talks about the Binance? Binance is trying to hold a big space on the market which most people will not like. The same will be with facebook or whatever.

Even the proposed Facebook coin that may serve as utility tool will still need the support of Bitcoin and Ethereum for anyone to be able to buy the coin.

I think it is stated clearly in their whitepaper that they do not have the same system with bitcoin and Ethereum, and I am not sure it is Ethereum that should be threatened by their existence, but other existing stable coin and weak project in the market in which we all know that Ethereum does not belong to the group of weak coins, even if those other companies decides to join the crypto world, they may end up partnering with Ethereum.

You have a pretty solid point here.
OP can't compare the existence of ethereum vs. the other companies mentioned by him.
They are totally different in nature and their system has different usage.
Eth team I can say, has a solid foundation. They are catering a lot of businesses to make their operations easier.
However, a lot of them are abusing the eth network to gain money for themselves.
Those big companies need eth network within their system to make their operations productive and more economical.

Ethereum and the companies mentioned are not competitors in any way to each other. Though as at present these companies have 5x more value than ethereum itself and had not made known their intentions to come crypto public, they could be partner with some projects as the institutionalizing continues.

It's not. there will always be a competition between each other. US still in the process in mediation with libra and regulators are still hearing the reason of facebook created libra coin.
But libra will become the next competitor for all of the stable coin and we will see that a very strict competition between them all but it's not ethereum because libra is not a smartcontract platform dedicated.

first of all , etherium is a crypto and the names that you listed for comparison are companies in the real world  . its not apropriate to compare them to each other   . people can have a seperate investment , they can invest on big companies and they can also invest on cryptos like etherium   . they cant kill etherium because etherium is one of the useful coins on the crypto world so there will always be a demand for eth but they can kill other real world companies   . we can compare eth to other cryptos but eth will still be unkillable just like btc  .
