Anyone interested in the best pre-season tournament? First game tomorrow: Fiorentina vs Guadalajara (meh), but next Wednesday we have Arsenal vs Bayern Munich.

This tournament sounds new to me. How does a team qualify here? Or is it just through invitation by tournament organizers? I wonder why FC Barcelona is not in the mix.

I'm going to watch some games. But probably we will see most clubs playing with young players because teams are only starting pre-season and their main stars got more time to rest. And this year there are less teams, we won't see clubs like Liverpol, Man City, Barcelona or Borussia playing there

Clubs are invited to this tournament. Barca played previous few years, but this time they chose to travel to Japan.

Liverpool is in red hot form first match they score 6 goals, and next they scored three goals it seems like they’re mentally playing in the premier league.

Definitely gonna look into it And if Tottenham Hotspur will continue their reign as Champion, And will watch the announcement first before taking a deep digesting on what's gonna be a possible outcome for the matches,

Aside from Tottenham to become Champion again this year is if Marco Asensio and Alexandre Lacazette would be the top scorer of the game, So Looking forward if Tottenham can make a defense on their title.

You never know so it is better to be safe rather than sorry.I know when I was working in the Balkans many persons there like gambling a lot especially in these kind of events and a few of them lost a lot of money from betting large amounts of money.

I have restricted my betting on only events which are taken more seriously.

I know they've absolutely slaughtered Arsenal back in 2016, but don't think it's going to be that easy for them now.

Anyway, looking from the participants, I think Real Madrid has the biggest chance to win this tournament. Their 3rd or 2nd tier squad still can compete with the like of United.

Every pre-season match of the International Champions Cup is certainly very much awaited. Although sometimes the results are not the main thing. At least with this preseason, each team will always be ready to face the real season. I am interested in watching Real Madrid.

LOL its been the same for me, I have become disinterested in everything regarding football because of Manchester United,  but let's see how the season turns up. With the ICC since it's mainly a friendly tournament where teams will be testing out new tactics and their new players, anything can actually happen.

It will be fun to watch all the matches, Because most participating clubs play well and have the best players, I think all matches will be better. The winner of this tournament will be determined by the feet inside the stadium.

Fiorentina helped me get my first big win of the season last night, so yay! Parlayed them with a Champions League qualifier. Great odds considering the gulf between the two teams.

I've always thought of this tourney as a strange one but I fancy an Arsenal 4/1 upset. They will be rested, and hopefully angry at last season. Bayern start the season weaker than they ended the previous, losing Ribery, Robben, Hummels... still a strong team for sure and maybe the younger squad average is better for them long term but they will need the time.

Be careful betting on this little competition guys. There are lots of surprises in pre season, coaches use it to get players fit & try different formations etc. It’s not really about winning ultimately so there will be weird results. Just be careful, little warning.

You heard him, guys. So, unless you're an experienced sports bettor (like @buwaytress), I'd recommend to stay away from betting on this cup, or at least don't risk too much money.

Now back to tonight's game, Bayern usually trashes Arsenal in official competitions. Against Bayern, The Gunners have a record of 3W-1D-7L, but interestingly enough, the last time both teams met was in a friendly (first time both teams faced each other in a friendly), it was in the 2017 International Champions Cup, the game ended with a draw in FT but Arsenal won in the penalty shootout. Maybe we'll see the same story later today?

Agree, as it is a pre-season, all the teams possibly try to use new formations even if it is an International Champions Cup.
This will make the result to be unpredictable, new formations or strategy may be effective or not.

It is very unfortunate for you. Manchester United era has been already over, so why don't you move to another team?  
Anyway, don't burden it with a hopeless expectation.

It’s 100% going to be used as a warm up for local domestic leagues. The real prizes are handed out at the end of the season not before it’s started
