logged in to my Electrum 2.8.3 wallet but says I am not connected to server

I am trying to send bitboin to my coinbase wallet but when I try it says waiting for fees estimates and then say I am disconnected from the server.  any thought on how to fix this?

Why don't you try to update your software? The last version is 3.3.8
Download the new version at electrum.org (never from another website)
