Personally I do prefer storing my keys offline to prevent third party Acess and also incase of computer hard disk breaking down.

One may ask, are paper wallets safe enough from relatives and friends?

My reply is that I have developed my own language whereby I represent the vowels in the alphabets in other to with some special characters which only myself, I mean no other person can interpret.

How do you save yours?

This is very interesting. For me I have three different files kept at different locations and so for instance in regards to the twelve mermonic keys I always split them into three and keep a set in each of the files. This too I do it in a special way that it will take more intelligence for you to decode even if you have the three files

I store on a flash drive and an external hard drive, very much thinking about buying trezor wallet, as it allows you to store funds very securely and it can be used even on an infected PC.

The private key should be well stored and I saved it offline. And this is very safe because all my friends are not familiar with the crypto. Even to be safer again that my computer uses the passcode. So far I have not-hacking and my digital assets are still safe. And I suggest that never anyone else use your computer's device.

I have already tried doing my own jumbling of passwords before. It went well until such time that I did not use it for a while. And when I went back to it, I could not understand it anymore. And never have I made out the password out of it anymore. I ended up clicking on the forget password button. I do not recommend it especially if you have a lot of passwords and keys to manage. Just jot it down on a piece of paper, perhaps several copies, and then keep it away.

That is why data management is very necessary and must be managed properly. Especially in cryptocurrency there are various secrets that we must remember and store carefully, such as passwords, private keys, pin codes, etc. Manually recording is quite effective, as a backup if we forget. I prefer to make notes in Notepad and save them in a special folder. For every verification code like 2FA, I always take screenshots to save.

Most difficult if we lose a private key and will definitely regret it. It has been prevented by storing private keys not only on one computer device. However, this private key store is not connected to the Internet. I don't allow my friend to use my computer device because it also contains risks.

lately a lot of threads discuss private key issues and many say they have lost their private keys, this is very interesting because private keys are usually stored in a safe place and only we know  Roll Eyes

willy you mean you type it in keepass and keep them all there?  But if someone has access to your laptop, then they still have to know your keepass masterpassword right in order to access it correct?

I have been using an external hard drive to store personal data for a long time, which I always use to work online, and my closest friends never knew about the data I saved, because I never lent it to someone else or my friend, and every folder in my hard drive I also lock passwords with mixed characters, because in my opinion it's very safe and comfortable for myself.

Writing the words and putting on my wallet. I made 3 copies of it and put one in my wallet, in my drawer and inside my cellphone. I also saved it on my cellphone as a note (with a password). In this way, it will make my Bitcoin safe.

I have two separate flash drives in the same way. And it doesn't connect these two flash drives to any device that has access to the Internet. And I never use copy-paste.

Just write on my notepad and save it on my pc and backup on my phone. Also i printed my private key and barcode
i think thats enough to keep my wallet private key save, as long as i didn't put my private on any suspected site.

This is a very interesting way but too complicated. I think that just storing your passwords in paper form is pretty safe if you don’t do anything illegal.

I keep my private keys on the computer (s ) and several backups on USB/Flash/external HDD. Paperwallet may be the safest from all but when you need to move coins every now and then you always have to import the paperwallet to a place where you can move the coin. Maybe Hardware wallet is also a good option, where supported.

in a long term investment, I prefer to keep it in a paper wallet and back up in an external hard disk. but for daily trading or short term investment, I prefer to keep it in a smartphone, which is only specifically used by me to store private keys, personal data, google authy and personal email (I don't use it for other activities).

How do you save yours?

Yes. Your way may be safer, especially if you use words that others cannot interpret. But it also has the possibility that we will forget what we wrote. I prefer to save on a computer, and be protected from virus attacks.
Besides that, I backup it on a flashdisk, if my computer has a problem, I still have a private key backup.
If the problem is lack of trust with people around us. That depends on with your are friends. so we have to worry about it.

Saving it at email, phone storage and other thing that can be connected to the internet it is not save. You can't feel comfortable when you store it on these things. I just print out my private keys and save it in my room, since there only a few people who know cryptocurrencies so for now I'll comfortable to do it. They will not know about it although I put it on my computer desk, I was hacked a few times with the reason the hacker know my priket and at that time I only choose email or my computer to save my private key but after that I never save it again, just print out and so far my wallet is really safe.

It is always preferred to safe your private key in hardware wallet but you can also store them in computer in encrypted form if you have less fund , generally people wallet get hacked from computer bcz of their own mistake only bcz they download software from torrent which may contain malware or spyware that steal your keys other than that if you use pc normally nothing will happen and do not use your private key in untrusted site , carefully look domain.

Do not store it on devices that are connected to the internet, but also it is not the best to store it on paper. Paper may burn or get wet.
The best place where to store your private keys is a hardware wallet.

I store my private keys offline, and online double layer password encrypted archives or zip, I store them offline for more security and online for easier access in case I lose them in my offline back ups.

I save privatekey and the password in flasdisk. and save it also on Google Drive to protect if there is damage to my disk. I also protect privatekey by using winrar + password to open it.

This is a good strategy and I think not only you is doing this. Even I, have tried this and it is kinda refreshing to know that someone is doing the same thing that I do.

But still I urge you to make other strategy on securing your account. Offline wallet is also a great idea because everything on the net can be access by hackers. Secure it on a safe place that no one will know aside from you.

In my opinion, it doesn't save on devices that can be hacked by anyone through the internet or others. save it offline, offline even the device can be damaged, save the private key to your own memory with the key you only know, and have a backup key so that when you forget we still have a backup like save on removable storage
it seems like it's too complicated, and not many people do that. hacking is very possible, but I don't expect it. and the system of the wallet that we have is actually safe, but how do we make the potential for hacking reduce. like wallet use for some mining sites that are scam.

Easy way does not install any malicious application and the rest install security applications such as antivirus and if you are a web wallet user do not use it again, but switch to using the application, for example, if using myetherwalletqx because it is very safe and the rest use the official application and that is enough to secure privatekey from the hacker / scammer

Obviously the best way to store private keys is offline. Personally I put it on paper and photocopy as backup.  Storing private key on emails, cloud storage and other online facilities is highly risky. This is because if security is breached for such online platforms, your data might be compromised and you know what that entails.

Only kept in a private record that is locked tightly offline so that friends cannot find out and all applications use fingerprint, face and code fitting so I think it's safe for the key and most importantly don't use keys on other devices carelessly and be careful  against fake websites

I don't have any special language, will just save them in a place where no internet is connected by this m data will be safe and secured.

Me, I just keep the private key through my computer and back it up to my flashdisk just in case there is damage to the hard drive. It has been 5 years, just keep it on computer but there's no issue. Never see my funds missing. So, in the end it's about how we deal with this secret data. Fake website? phising? trojan? malware? never seen it, I think it just a myth.

I do have confusion regarding this issue but still i have kept the private key in a safe secret folder in my computer but still sometimes i feel insecure so i may transfer the private key in a flash drive but then again all these usb drives can also get malware, virus or get corrupted so im still confused.

i store my private key with 3 ways, that is :
1. save on USB Flash Drive
2. Save on Mobile Phone
3. Save on Google Drive
but later I will buy Ledger Wallet to save cryptocurrency that I have, because many people advise me to save cryptocurrency that I have in Ledger Wallet to be more secure.

For me, I stored my private key both online and offline. My online storage is basically on my phone and google drive. As regards offline storage, I have a paper wallet where all my privates keys are written bold and clear.

so far I have kept my private key well without any problems at all and hope bad things don't happen to me. I keep a private key using flasdisk, a copy on my cellphone and also a sheet of white paper. I think it's safe on the other hand, I'm always careful in using PC / PHONE to avoid problems.

For myself, I store it on my external harddisk and put it at the safe place just to make sure that I have everything on my sight safe. I don't even tell my parents where I put my harddisk on, I don't want my money get stolen.

Private keys, something very essential. Storage of private keys is indeed mandatory safely, as safe as possible. We can back up these private eys offline on our laptop and hard drive. Why? Because if you only store it on your computer or laptop and don't have other backups, you will be very vulnerable to damage and loss. I personally always have back up at least 2 or 3 places.

In order to prevent hacking, of course, we should keep a good private key. Saving in offline data will be safer and not only stores private keys on a single computer. So if one computer hits, we still have another computer.

If you hold some reasonable quantity of crypto assets, your best bet is to get a hardware wallet (Trezor, Ledger..) and keep them as you would your valuable document. It is nice you have developed your unique vowels to encrypt your private keys, the downside is that it locks every other close relative or wards who are suppose to have access to your funds in case of an emergency or instances when you are incapacitated to do so.

The private key should be well stored and I saved it offline. And this is very safe because all my friends are not familiar with the crypto. Even to be safer again that my computer uses the passcode. So far I have not-hacking and my digital assets are still safe. And I suggest that never anyone else use your computer's device.
That's true must never to use our computer device those private keys we have. Must better to save on it to USB or any offline device we have, As of now we need to be careful always to our important keys and never share it even if our close friends and family.

I stored it in one of my emails, I seldom use that email, and the email is well secured with phone verification, I don't have a ledger now but I will soon buy again, this is important if you have a large portfolios, but first you must educate yourself on how to safeguard your private keys.

This is very interesting. For me I have three different files kept at different locations and so for instance in regards to the twelve mermonic keys I always split them into three and keep a set in each of the files. This too I do it in a special way that it will take more intelligence for you to decode even if you have the three files

I agree that this is interesting. But I would give everyone a advise here, keep your private key is a safe deposit box, yes you heard me right. Don't store your private keys is a cloud or even at your home, put it on placers that others won't easily access, just saying.

I saved it on my hard drive and also uploaded it to my google drive. And I also changed some of the contents with code that only I knew so that if anyone saw it they could still do nothing about my private key.

I normally save my private key in my  Google drive, I also save as draft in my mail, paper wallet isn't much use for me cos I see it as not been safe  but i love the illustration of how you use yours, it's kind of unique as it allows only you able to interpret it so I will give it a try too

I'm not keeping my private keys on computer or any soft copy. I prefer to write it down and keep the pad somewhere that can't be reached by water. Paper wallets can also be a good way to keep, it's like the same strategy on how I keep my private keys.

I normally save my private key in my  Google drive, I also save as draft in my mail
This is dangerous, save it offline and delete it on any cloud storage including google drive and your mails draft immediately.

I don't usually keep all of them in one place, I keep my private key in many places, because if I just save it on my computer I'm afraid that one day my computer will get a virus and all my data will be lost, which is why I prefer to keep private keys I am in many places.

There isno means of which we store our wallet key that is 100 percent safe, it all depends on extra mile we are willing to go to balance everything, balance everything in the sense that we will store it in a place that is well encrypted if online and make sure we don’t forget the detail because that could be the problem with using string password that we want to try and remember, because the best is to memorize the password and never keep it online.

For the paper wallet, it is also a good idea, like I said, it still depend on the extra length the owner is willing to go, because paper wallet is why many people lost their bitcoin at its early stage, some of them threw the wallet away mistakenly or deliberately. I have paper wallet for coins that I have heavily invested in, and I stored it in bank safe which I am still paying for its services.

There's no place that is truly safe even for hardware wallets with the risk of losing and viruses.
I think cloud storage can also be considered with the requirement to save it in rar files and with a password combination that is more complicated than privatekeys itself, then change file extensions with other before uploading them.

I agree with you and think that storing your private keys offline is the best way of how to protect your info. Nowadays, everything is hackable, but nobody can steal a sheet of paper with every key written there. I do not trust things like anti virus software and so on.

I use paper, my computer and cloud

I have my ledger and I'm 100% sure that it's all covered this is what the ledger is all about in case you need the utmost security for your coins, nothing comes close to it, but I used to store it on my email with two-factor authenticator and phone verification activated.

Having a lot of private keys is hard to keep, but it should be place on the safe place its a must I believe. I get my first ledger this year and honestly, i still don’t know how to keep it well aside from creating new email for this and wrote it on a paper and place it on the safest place on our house. I put it on a documents folder with a bit of shuffle word, i trust my family so I know that’s a safe place for me.

I am using several methods of key storages. There is a secure database which keeps the keys. It is synced with my pc and phone. DB is encrypted and has a password and master key security levels. Also, the database is supporting versioning. I can revert to an old version in case of corruption. Rather than that, I am using papers for keys.

Private key is very important once you loss it, you can't able to open your account address for sure 100%.
That's why for me, I keep and store my private key and on my 3 usb flash drive. And then I also save it on a
paper wallet too.

I actually keep my private keys in my phone. I am satisfied with that since I do not yet have to deal with hackers. I do not have money in my wallet but I'm making sure that I am not sharing it with anyone.
It is quite dangerous if you drop your phone on the move. My friend had the same situation. It is best to save it on a personal computer and install the password carefully

Well, I think the best way to store your private keys is writing it down on paper and keeping it safe where it's only accessible by you and you alone. I don't actually trust or believe storing any online storage, either notepad, hard drive

if I personally store my private key on a white sheet of paper, besides that I also don't forget to copy it in a number of places like cellphones, flashdisk and some complicated folders that I made on PC. and of course there are no problems so far and hope nothing bad happens to me.

I store my private key in different place to provide more security for me to avoid losing or misplacing. I can't go very deep on this for security reasons but I save my keys both online and offline and that's my choice

the way you do is very cool, it never crossed my mind that this method is quite safe in storing our private key. Yes, I will try to create a password formula that I only know myself to encrypt my private key, and the formula is only stored in my brain and there is no digital trace that can crack it.
Thank you for some useful tips, I hope this method is safe ...

This question is a matter of confidential and no one will say you definitely. Because these days the fishing and hacking of the cryptocurrency has grown. So, don't as this type of foolish question here. But, I only say that I am storing my private keys offline and with paper wallet.

I keep my wallet keys on a flash drive and have a copy of the keys printed on paper, and I do not recommend that anyone keep the key file on their computer.

Storing on-the-spot offline will be safer. Many people lose their coins because their computers are hacked. Also, many people are not wary of following unclear sites. So it's easy to hack and will definitely disappoint. For me until now very safe because I also did not experience it. And in my place, many of my friends are not familiar with the crypto. And if they borrow my computer I do not allow.

Your idea of storing private key is pretty good. Currently I store multiple copies in multiple locations including offline and online. And obviously Most of the times I write it down with my personal short form.

When it comes to passphrases, I do not worry too much about them because those who are around me aren't that much into crypto and those who will try hacking me won't get access to the book where I write my private keys and passphrases.
And when it comes to writing my passphrases and private keys, I do write them in a sequence that if I do not tell you, you will spend the whole day combining them here and there.

Since I started using hardware wallets and TrustWallet app I no longer worry about private keys. For my passphrases, I write them in pieces of paper and store them in different locations, when I need them I start digging them up.

The best place to offer maximum security is offline. Save in your personal diary. I am sure siblings don't go around looking through each other privacy. It is one of the challenges investors had when the QuadrigaX exchange CEO died. If he had saved the wallet  private keys online, perhaps access would have been retrieved

I prefer to store my seed words than to store my private keys, I store them in two ways the most obvious is that I keep them in a piece of paper, the second method is that I have committed those words to memory so if I need to travel I can carry all my funds with me and no one will ever know since I do not carry anything with me that could reveal the fact that I hold some cryptocurrencies, but as of late I have been thinking on buying a hardware wallet but I have not decided yet which one I would like to buy.

It's not a super complicated concept, encrypt a text file... You don't have to do anything fancy to be secure, and things like VeraCrypt make it super easy for the average person to accomplish it these days. Just make sure you have backups, but always encrypted. It's very hard for people to hack something they don't know exists.

It is very easy you should write down the private key in the page of a big book and safe it ( for example in table ) and don't check it every week. In this case it will be safe place for your crypto.

Most people seem to agree hardware wallets are best place to keep their coins.  Either that or wallets like electrum or paper wallet.  But I say coinbase or those other main exchanges are probably safe if not safer.  Has anyone had their coinbase, gemini or bitstamp account hacked?

Now the storing of private keys.  Its been mentioned to not store it online.  Now all agree that we should not take a picture of it on our phone or type it in our wordpad and thats it.  I mean if you do that, you should at least encrypt it.

So here are what i think are good ideas.

1.  Type it in something like lastpass or keepass?  That way in order for someone to access your private key, they need to know your password to lastpass or keepass.  So you could keep a copy of lastpass or keepass on your computer, also one on a usb stick, and one online?  That way in case something happens physically?  But the big issue here is if somehow you get malware on your computer, then anytime you type in such as entering your password to lastpass or keepass... then a keylogger could see everything and view your private keys there... correct?  But as long as you don't download anything on it and careful on computer, its fine?

2.  People say best to type write it down on paper and not store any of it electronically anywhere.  I do like this idea as it protects your from the internet.  But do you store this in your house or apartment?  A bank safety box?  If you do this, obviously you break it into 2 parts?  The other issue is what if there is fire or things like that?  Do you keep multiple copies of it?  Such as it break the private key into 2 or 3 parts in your house and apartment?  Then another copy of it in 2 or 3 parts somewhere else?  Like 2 bank deposit boxes?  But i heard cases where bank deposit boxes can be broken into... but the issue is they just need to open it and take picture... they dont need touch or take the paper.  So I assume break it into 2 different safety deposit boxes?

3.  Someone mentioned cryptosteel etc.  So that protects it again fire etc.   But is this good option?  Where in the world do you store it then?

I keep them as you shouldn’t do it - on the computer, I just can’t just sop on it and transfer everything to at least a flash drive, so I’m not ready to spend money on some cold wallet at the moment.

Yes, offline storing of private key is such a safe method. But in case you are knowledgeable enough, you can also store your private key file in an online like in your google drive, just in case. But you should be aware that nobody should.know the password of your private key.

So its a text document that you put in google drive?  You encrypt it right?  What encryption do you use then?  So if someone hack your google account, they still need to hack your encryption to the document with your text document?

Back up your private keys on multiple USB flash drives and keep them in different physical locations.

Do you encrypt your private keys on your usb flash drives?  Do you encrypt your usb flash drive?  What program do you use for all of this?

Honestly, I just wrote it on a piece of paper, not too confident that it was saved in my phone. There will be unexpected issues and the best thing to do is to write down your private keys or save it in a hardware storage. Do not save it in usb flash drive, there is also often times bugs that may affect the performance of the usb. Same with your pc and phone. Hope it helps.

Well, I never store my private keys because it looks so delicate to me because the combinations of numbers and letters might be tampered with. I prefer to store and use J'son file or the Keystore and password for my logins. Backup for the keystore and password are kept on a new flash drive and stored privately in my room.

Hah, good question.
I have 2 wallet, I store it online by posting those private keys on the internet, facebook or some social media. But I changed 2 characters in it, often the first and last one, or even switch positions of them. I think it's the best way, never forget anything since then =]]

Aha, never heard of, but I think this is very clever way to store anything private online and no one could touch.

I often write down mine in 2 copies, and store them in safes around the house. Even I lose 1, still have some to recover.

it looks trivial but we also need to be vigilant before saving the private key. most cases lose their private keys because they are careless in storing or using them. I personally keep my private key in a hardware device such as a flashdisk. My advice is if you want to access your wallet, make sure that the items you use are private, not through other people's belongings, and be aware of the cellphone / PC that you use, make sure only you know the key to accessing the item or keeping your asset key.

I keep my private key in two places, the first is in my smartphone notebook and the second I keep it in a paper book.  Private key is something that is very important and very confidential, don't let anyone else know even though it is a good friend or relative.
it's better not to keep it on your smartphone, because if you lose your smartphone it means you can also lose your private key. store in a place you don't carry anywhere.

Yes, you have store the private in a different place which we cannot carry those and also we shouldn't use it on a daily basis for logins. Even though we secure online there is risk involved and even we follow all the security measures. One more thing as long as if you don't share your private keys then definitely you will be in safe hands.

I usually store my private key 3rd times, first was in my computer, second in my flash disk, and third i print out in a paper than i store it in my cabinet  Grin
I think paper wallet is still the very best of storing these keys, you just have to ensure that you keep more than one copy of the paper wallet and probably laminate them too to avoid liquid contact that could destroy the paper, most of my keys right now as I speak are on paper wallet, let me then see where the hackers, scammers and all the bad bloods that we have in the cryptocurrency industry with follow to come and steal my coins.

I don’t have any of them online, because if I store it on my computer, I visit lots of sites and could be exposed to phishing software’s, I cannot because of crypto not open sites for other things, and if I store it in a flash, same thing could happen to flash, virus could even attack my flash, so I better stick with paper wallet alone.

Great lamination idea. Moreover, I just realized that it is possible to laminate the QR code, so nothing will threaten the security of the keys on the paper wallet. The main thing is not to forget to make several copies, and also not to forget where you hid them.

About private key I wrote it all in notepad and archive with password, then i send to my save message telegram, i think this is save, i also send to my other number to prevent if my telegram number loss.
I have used similar way of storing private keys of hot wallet but it was a bit different than your method: Sending half of the private key with mail and another half with telegram's saved messages. My telegram account is protected with secondary password and Google authentication. Having access to the number will not leak my personal messages to the attacker in case if data loss aka hack. I recommend to store the private keys, mnemonic seed with fire-proof paper case.

i also save my mine on my phone but i encrypt it with a password so that no unauthorized person can access it aside from me   . you should also do that because youl never know if you will lost your phone  . aside from it , i also save a copy on my lappy and on the usb pen drive as well for back porpuses  . i dont recomend that other one that you do , which was printing it  .  printing it on a paper can be easily damage or lost  . that happend to me before but good thing i have too many back ups .

How do you save yours?

I store mine offline, I also use Google keep to store and save also as draft in my mail. But will definitely use this method of yours and see how it goes

What you might do is the same as I did just different storage methods, I still put on my laptop and I protect it with internet security and I feel quite safe and as a backup I put it in the email folder address. the important thing is not to open any form of email links and always open through bookmarks.

That's very innovative I might try that also I only using my spare email with so many authentications and very strong passwords as long as nobody knows that you are keeping a large sum of coins that could worth thousands of dollars in the future you are safe.
each of us have different methode to store our private stores.but convert PV to our own language was very creative ways.no one else will understand what we write there.the thing we have to it backed it in several place so if one back up gone , we still have reserve file.
Yeah it is good to save your private key in different language so no one can get it because private key is so important thing. Try to use the key which is not in knowledge of any one. I think there are allot of scammers we should not use any wallet which does not give us any proper safety. Use figures numbers and digits while creating a private key.

Like me but i use cloud storage not hardisk or falshdisk, danger. I think the better option to store private key is offline wallet, because no connection to prevent hacker but until now i worry about this. So even safe i dont used this way. So i choose to archive it then store in cloud storage media

Some people might use Google Drive to store private keys, but this is very vulnerable to hacking. I save the phrase in flashdisk and I always save it wherever I go, the most important thing is, download metamask and do synchronization to your email, then when you open the browser with the same email then metamask will be in the upper right corner of the extension. make sure you download the metamask extension by always seeing a secure link.

Good to know that someone is using almost same method I use to safe my private keys although I don't keep it secret to myself alone as is expected of me to let my wife know about how and where I keep my private keys.

The best place for storing private keys is a place where you only have an access.
The place without internet, the place without people, the place which is protected from fire and water.  Maybe the best thing is to dig in the garden.

Here are some tips to securely store your private keys safely without any fear of being breached by hackers or evil doers.

1. Password protected excel file ( private keys stored in that file).
2. Printed excel file as your hard copy.
3. Converted pdf file from the protected excel file (also password protected).
4. Store excel and pdf file to your main email address.
5. Safety vault your hardcopy, USB, and other data storage devices for physical security.

according to me storing the private keys offline is the best way you will be completely fearless and relax if you're computer got crashed than also no issue.
Of course, off line storage of login details is the best because I don't know of any online mode of storage of wallet login details. Some people prefer to keep them in their emails and icloud but emails used for online public forms registration can be under attack by hackers.

Seeing so much happen and a friend of mine who clicked an unprotected link, after that her wallet was compromised and she lost all her fund as a result of that, I save my private key offline, I think that is cool for me.

Easy for me,,, just write down in 2 pieces of paper just like how I read. And there is another copy of it somewhere else. And finally,,, memorized by heart in my head. I can remember it because it is made into a phrase of all the first letters;)

I have experience get hacked my google account, don't know how but the thief can pass my 2fa with phone number. And then my account that i save in google drive stolen, and he withdraw my money from exchanges. From that, i prefer to use offline hardware to back up my private keys.

I agree with you 100%. I don't believe in storing any key online to avoid unnecessary circumstances. In my own opinion it is better storing them offline. In the case of backup phrase I write them down while in the case of private keys I print them and keep offline; all area stored in a safe place where only I can access. Security needs to be paramount.

I prefer to save in via notepad and store the information in a flash drive; not in my computer because I'm not the only user in my computer as my classmates use it also when we do a research. Then I keep my flashdrive safe through storing it in my mini safe bolt that I'm the only one who has the acess with.

For me it is enough to have a separate flash drive with private keys and other data I need. Accounts crypto wallets and private keys are very long and entering them manually with paper is very inconvenient.

I have so many wallets and I spread my digital assets in so many wallets that even if a hacker gets his hands in one or two, they won't be able to do much damage to me, this is one good way to keep your funds secured... As for private keys, I save write mine down in multiple places and stash them in areas that are not easily accessible to anyo ther person except me, Moreover I store online too but I don't disclose where.

I put it on note and screenshot it and then upload on Google drive. I never write private key on book and keep in somewhere place, cause I'm afraid I'm gonna forget it. You can try it too cause it's very simple and so far, safe for me.

Personally, I think that your passwords should be kept in the most secret place. Since the password can be chosen for every taste. I will also advise you to keep several wallets and keep your funds in different wallets. Since anything happens, passwords can be lost or one wallet can crack. And the rest of the wallets will be fine. So I wish you all good luck.

Personally,  storing private keys inside your phonebook is very risky,  i was a vitcim of phone hacked and all my funds got lost. So the best way to store a private key is write it down on a paper and keep in a safe place. Most wallet recommends this.

I use open source password manager, Keepass, it makes me easily move from one computer to another, I can save the database elsewhere, and it was password protected.

I had tried Truecrypt before, and it was amazing, however, due to some password protection issue, I've changed to Keepass.

There's a lot of free and open source password manager around, may choose of your own choices..

Paper wallets is not that secure high probability of disappearing without any trace better to store it on flashdrive or harddrive store it on safeplace, storing your keys in andriod device and computer is risky there are alot of hackers spreading. Be secure.

I use a slightly similar method, I store my keys online in a fresh telegram account that I don't share with anybody or even use, but to be more secure, I add 2FA to the account but I think the best security feature I implemented was to ensure that I mix some phrases into my private keys, thereby rendering it useless to any other person but me.

I like to print out the privet keys and save it as a hardcopy in a file. I think this is one of the best ways to store the keys simply and securely.

From my expertise, having a water-fire-proof wood box will be enough for storing the private keys. Otherwise, it will become harder to hold the private keys without any potential danger to its existence. Instead of storing on the big exchanges, I go for the hardware or desktop wallets. Both options are secure than holding on the exchanges which dangerously open to the hacks.

I do not understand why such difficulties. It is easier to have several wallets and distribute your tokens among them. And private keys and files to them to keep on your computer in a text version with tricky names. And of course, a good antivirus. Well, as a supplement to duplicate all the information to your flash drive so as not to be afraid if the hard drive suddenly breaks.

I'd like to buy a hardware wallet, but as far as I'm concerned, it's too expensive, so far just using MEW and storing the key on a flash drive

I am not sure private keys can be changed and revealing where you keep your private keys on this forum can expose someone if a familiar individual is on this forum, reading your post and have access to getting close to where you could put the keys. What is equally important is  to understand how to manage the keys safety, either online or offline.

I always use offline methods to store my private keys. I write keys in two different paper and keep them in two different places for doubling the security, in case one gets wasted by water or fire. Also, I have a wallet with no written backup, I keep the key phrases in my mind. Yes, you read it write, I memorized a full key which is the most secure wallet to me. I ensured that I won't make mistake by practicing a few hundred times over a few months of memorizing.

I would prefer storing my private keys both google keep notes and have it printed using hard copy. Because of internet safety reason, we must make sure to it that we have backed up our personal data physically. Any usb or cr burned data also is commendable to do so as long as you're keeping it confidentialy in your residence free from any physical not intrusion.

Keeping your asset safe is a hard thing now a days. But I always prefer a hardware wallet if you can effort it. Otherwise there is many way to keep this things. Many give many kind of ideas. But for me I used 3 diffrest USB and hard-disk and keep the private key their. Used 3 diffrest USB devices cause anytime one can broke. I never hold keys on a device which has inter connection. That's it for me. And yes my family know that this usb has something very important.

I guess I hav to adopt this your pattern of secret vowel representations. I store my private keys offline though and good enough, no one around me knows about crypto and can't even say what the keys are for. The best way as I have heard is storing with paper wallets if one can afford it.

Private keys don't fair well with many users, the best is to get a cold wallet or use keystore file to access one's wallet. The keys might be copied and pasted somewhere leading to hack.

easiest thing do not let the virus enter your device, especially if there is a rat, do storage in some places but do not let anyone know your privatekey and do backups also on cloud storage and most importantly never phishing when phishing is raging and even phishing I have arrived at mobile and desktop applications, I suggest that you must be careful before logging in using Privatekey on existing sites / applications.

I keep the keys to my e-wallets in three copies:
1. On the hard drive of my computer, which of course stands on the password.
2. On a flash drive.
3. On paper just in case.

For my own safety, I save my private keys and password to my personal cellular phone that already have personal password that only my fingerprint can be an access. I think this is the safest way to store my password and private keys. All we know the risk in engaging  in fraud cases and scams so let make our passwords and private keys safe.

I have two important wallets I have one wallet keys stored on my Telegram with 2fa installed and also on my personal diary. For my second wallet, I have the keys stored on a diary and flash drive. It is where I have my bitcoin bought for long hold and I don't want anything that will being an easy interaction with the keys to Internet.

I think paper wallets are not safe, because we are not only guarding against theft, we also have to guard against the effects of water, paper-eating animals (mice). And there are lots of things we have to guard when using paper wallets. I think the hardware wallet is very good, or the software wallet is stored properly.

I saved it in a sheet on Google. and I made backups on files that I saved on Google and on my computer. I might have to worry if anyone intends to steal or hack my email or Google might abuse their policies. but until now I think everything continues to be safe.

External hard drive and notebook, I have printed keys, passwords, phrases and I put that in my notebook. Two places are safer than just one place, it`s how I see that. If something happens with one of them I always have back up. I learned that in crypto, you always need to have back up, whatever you do, only then you can say that you are safe.
