The number of dead coins isn't that big if you compare it to the number of companies that go bankrupt each year. Altcoins are like startup companies. Some projects are bound to fail but without risk there's no reward.

A lot of project is near zero price. Abandoned coins without developmnet without real value

Many of these are scams. Coins that were dumped by the team or based on backing that never existed. BCC and XPY are in this group and even not all such coins are worth 0 but something like 0,01 USD per coin :d

I believe this is true; we have news of a lot of coins or tokens that were delisted from all exchanges and died down

Those are examples of projects that went to 0$ price; or what further proof do you seek ??

Most of these coins with zero prices have inactive developers and they have no plans to improve their products. Others are fake coins with the aim to scam investors, these fake coins can also make their way to exchanges for short period of time to convince the
investors that the coins have potentials. After some time, the price of these coins go down and will never recover.

I heard that over 85% of crypto from over a few years ago has went to 0.  Is that true or false?

Can someone give me a list of the popular coins that were pretty well known that has went to 0?  The only one i know of is bitconnect.  All the other coins, they might have dropped to pennies but what coins has went straight to 0.
That is a false information and I think that the source of the information over exaggerated the figure, I know we have very large numbers of coins that has gone so low that you could almost see as zero but they have not zero yet, we only have few coins that has zero like Bitcoin diamond, Nem and this bit connect.

I really do not know of any popular coins again, but after this bull run, a whole lots of coin will really go zero, because some of them will tend to rise for the last time during the altcoins season, and many investors if not all that has waited tirelessly will tend to pull their investment out. I am just waiting for this altcoins season like I am waiting for my life, this season will really help lots of people pull their investment out of some of these shit coins.

www.deadcoins.com

On this website you can check all dead coins

I had a lot of money into a coin called OysterShell, at the time it was VERY promising, I bought a bag of coins and left on exchange...

...some months after, I checked and the coin was dead, zero value and no blockchain to transfer, really dead

At least I learnt the lesson and now I have only 5 coins, and the good ones, no random alts for me

Omg, it's been a while since the last time i heard about oyster. I remember when oyster price was increased so high and very hyped back then. But i'm not that surprised as they didn't disclose their team member which is suspicious. It shows that we need to keep up update with crypto we hold. If you find that there's something wrong with the project, you can sell to avoid bigger losses. I remember when my friend sold his evn token rightaway after finding out that there's an issue with the project.

Sad to say that this is the fate of almost 80% of altcoins, they lose value and never recover and forgotten by people. It is like we are having a sea of dead altcoins. If only there is a way to cleanse this as the number of dead altcoins will rise every year.

i believe your confusion comes from the fact that most people when they call a coin "dead" they don't mean its price falling down to absolute zero. which is probably what you have heard. they said 85% of the altcoins died not just dropped down to zero.
a dead coin is usually a coin that has no usage and no point to exist and has been falling ever since it was created. they usually had a high volume in a couple of days when they were created and then lost it and now have a volume less than 0.01BTC per day and a price less than 1 satoshi.

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.
Whales are those who keep buying the dip.

I think there are a lot of altcoins that have a price of $ 0 but we can see many new projects that almost have the same idea as the previous project.
This site https://deadcoins.com/ provides information on some dead coins or tokens, whether they are abandoned by the developers or end in fraud

True. Most new tokens and coins in a few years will cost about 0. This is primarily due to the fact that the developers failed to implement their idea, which they planned to implement. Also, some projects were simply scammers and deceived their investors.

That's true you can see many altcoins become $0 and looks dead because  there's no development on the project. Bitconnect is only one of them, if you want to see you can look another dead coin you can find at https://deadcoins.com/.

I wonder what holders of those coins did after their coin went to 0

I have a few coins that have fallen almost to zero. Hopes that these coins will increase in almost no. Well that their cost was low before, so I lost a little.

Altcoin, whose price has fallen to the lowest level, will be a little difficult to rise unless there is a buy back on the dev or their founding team, and I am sure almost everyone who has been in this forum for a long time has experienced the same thing, so don't focus too much on coins that are already worthless, because we still have plenty of time to focus on valuable altcoins.

85% though? It could be more. I have so many coins I've been holding since 2017 that have gone to zero dollars. Bitcoin red, BitWhite, hawala token, to name a few. There will have to be a really big announcement if the price is to start picking up soon

In my view, it is true. There was no profit at most crypto projects. There were a lot of scam projects as far as I remember. It is so dangerous to invest these shitcoins. Because you can lose and when something would happen, there is nothing you can do as an investor. I'm not a hundred percent certain, it is so much such 85%. l think it is an overkill to put all in one coin.

You're right, low skill level developer while running their project is really we can see as the reason. Also there are a few of them that disappear once his coin listed in an exchange. But what I see, scam is the most reason why a coin drop to 0 price.

Shitcoins are the only ones that can lose value to zero like that,it will be a lesson for many who don't do better research on projects better investing money

The projects that fell simply died. I do not think that we can get any profit from these shitcoins (if somebody invested in them).
the worse thing is that these shitcoins will be appearing all the time, masking under the promising tokens. The best way to avoid this scam is to invest only in the most-trusted top-100 cryptocurrencies, and do not be in a hurry to sell them even when they fall a bit.

if they are popular i dont think that their value will drop off to zero because they are popular and people will be buying them sooner or later  . most alts that i know are have a good value even they arent really popular but sometimes they can go down though not to the point that they will reach zero  .

there are literal coins that arent listed and they have a zero value . tokens are mainly the ones that its value can decrease until zero becuase most tokens are worthless  or have no real world usage  .

I have visited the https://deadcoins.com/ site. And after visiting the site I have found some coin which is now trading on binance and team is still working to develop the project. But on the site, its marks as Scam coin. One of them is Pundi X coin[ NPXS]. So really all the data is 100% accurate of this site?
