Recently, on July 19, Bitcoin enthusiast Tim Draper was on CNBC speaking on how the mainstream coverage of cryptocurrency has been a positive event for the crypto community in general.

Tim Draper believes that: “ it’s good to have people talk about it and thus they realize how important Bitcoin is gonna be for the planet”. He claims that Bitcoin will make the world a much better place to live in another ten to fifteen years.

What's your point of view on this?

Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

I don't really believe that bitcoin will change the way we live in 10 years, rather I believe that blockchain will do it! The way we are moving towards digitization, we will soon need a robust system which can't be altered by an influential person, blockchain is the only technology that is giving us hope for the same!

However, I don't think bitcoin is not going to be the reason for the change, but it can be a small catalyst towards the change only!

Bitcoin stand for 1 decade now, and many investors embraced and support it together with the merchants who accepted it as mode of payment.
But still we cannot say what will happen tomorrow, though I'm one of the bitcoin enthusiast, moreover for me I know Bitcoin changed the way I
lived now, but for the future I don't know.

But for the average Joe, blockchain is invisible. "Oh they claim "thing" is safer now, great." At least bitcoin as a virtual currency has a bit more impact to the mind of end users, they are "using it" to pay with and be paid with.

Tim Draper is right, but one must not exaggerate. I think banks becoming optional can make life better, but only so much. Some people are actually desperate for others to handle their riches in exchange of fees, which can still be done with Bitcoin of course (just use an online wallet or exchange if you don't care).

Incidentally its the exact same way the Austrian School proposes to end fractional reserve banking, a bank with 100% reserve would actually charge you fees for storing your money, not the other way around... Unless you voluntarily want to lend it, and if that is so, your money would be unavailable during the time of the lend.

These things might seem annoying, but its the proof of a non fractional reserve system, which in turn makes a deflationary economy (based on real savings, as opposed to debt) thrive.

And if Bitcoin pushes the world away from Chicago economics into Austrian economics, you could in fact expect a (good) change in the way we live...

i'm agree with Tim's Idea because bitcoin means the access to money for all those who have access to internet, this way third world countries can access to a big value coin, and do a lot with this in their country, i mean, isn't the same to spend 1 dollar un USA than spend 1 dollar in Mexico, In USA you can buy 1 taco while in Mexico you can get 4 tacos with the same dollar.

Bitcoin will definitely change our financial sector, the way we handle money and limit how bankers steal our money through hidden charges and fraudulent activities. I can't tell if it will get to 15years before things will have some major turn around.

First in payment method we can use bitcoin for a faster tranaactions. Then in terms of investment. Why blockchain, and not Bitcoin? You're suggesting that irreversibility based on distributed consensus is important -- what blockchain is superior to Bitcoin in that sense?

It seems to me that the strongest -- and I'm tempted to say only -- proven use case for blockchains is as money. All the hype about blockchains revolutionizing supply chains and finance and the dentistry industry is just hot air and vaporware so far.

Bitcoin/blockchain technology has already changed the lives of those who have embraced it, it doesn't matter if Draper says it or not, this network is designed to create opportunities, to educate, to enrich, empower individuals etc

And the good part is, it's yet to harness it's full potentials, I think in the next 10-20 years we'll look back and be grateful we were a part of this from the start.

I can't disagree to what he is saying after all I'd be benefiting being a holder of BTC. 10-15 years is just too much of a wait for me. If he had to sell and I mean advertise bitcoin, Trip should have said a year later. Why do all these big guys be the first to make scary prediction, CNBC pick someone else who into developing Dapps like Justin Sun or Dan Larimer.
