Tron CEO Justin Sun has canceled his much-anticipated charity lunch with Warren Buffet that was set for Thursday (July 25th), he has revealed on Weibo this morning. The post by Sun was revealed by Mia Tam on Twitter and was later confirmed by the Tron foundation.

The reason for the absence at the charity lunch which Sun bought for over $4 million dollars is due to the Tron CEO having kidney stones. The tweet read:



Both parties have agreed to reschedule a new date but this must be a real disappointment for Sun, who has already invited numerous attendees from the crypto space. The key people in the industry who had been invited by Sun to Quince, a three-Michelin-star restaurant in San Francisco are big players in the industry.

The figures with an invite include: Jihan Wu, founder of Bitmain and his new company Matrix; Ethereum’s founder, Vitalik Buterin; Litecoin founder, Charlie Lee; the founder and CEO of trading platform eToro, Yoni Assia; head of the Binance Charity Fund, Helen Hai; Jeremy Allaire, the CEO of crypto payments firm Circle and as of today, Chris Lee the CFO, Board Secretary and VP of International Business Development from Huobi.

Sun had used this event as a huge PR move for him and the industry as a whole. The attention-grabbing headlines notched up after he invited US President Donald Trump. This was after the US President claimed that Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies were hot air and he was against them.



Buffet lunch: a big moment?

This has been seen as a huge moment for the crypto community. Buffet is the biggest investor known and has been hosting these charity lunches for a long time. However, he has often been skeptical, to say the least about the cryptocurrency industry.

I was looking forward to this lunch meet and was hoping Trump could also come, it would have been really interesting to see what Buffet and Trump would have commented post the meet. I’m hoping Justin recovers soon and is able to go ahead with this meet, as the entire industry is now waiting for it. The only good thing from the article is that Buffet has agreed to reschedule the meeting, though no one knows when this planned lunch meet will be next scheduled.

This is indeed a sad news, and a shocking one as well! When I first read the subject, I was thinking of some much more tragic circumstances like Warren Buffet explicitly saying no to Justin's idea or perhaps issuing worrying statements such as "This is not going to be a great lunch." But I was a little relieved when I heard that it was just postponed at a later date. So it was not cancelled at all. It will still happen for sure.

Anyway, I wish Justin Sun quick recovery.

Makes sense to me, like all the others here I believe it's just propaganda and I don't buy that kind of stuff, I'm surprised that people are falling for this, now he wants to invite Trump, who do you think he is, some sort of head of state, there is a protocol that these head of states follow, why not wait for Trump to step down first.

For anyone that has experienced the horrible feeling of kidney stones, I would not wish it on my worst enemy ever.   
Its the most painful thing for a man to experience and ive heard it is comparable to a women giving birth!
