England was on the way of securing the win easily but the loss of Harry Brook and Joe Root in the last session has brought in some pressure for England. They just needs to make 35 runs but all that are left batting are bowlers. 

England did not win even in a winning match, which was a failure for them because they were very close to winning the match but they could not do it. I thought England would win easily. Joe Root and Harry Brook both scored centuries but after they went back, no other batsman could stand on the pitch. It was an unexpected victory for India team. Excellent bowling from Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna turned a losing match into a win for India. The performance of England's lower order batsmen was not expected.

The result of the 5th Test game between India and England will blow our mind out because everybody was expecting that England will win the game. But the results changed in the final overs as India eliminated England's whole team just before 6 runs. India scored 224 runs in the first innings and England chased it with 247 runs so England had more runs than India. But in the second innings India openers scored a century which boosted the runs to 396 runs then England had to score 374 runs in order to win this test game. England performed fabulous as their two middle order players scored 216 runs just 35 runs were left with 6 wickets lost. England was going to win this game but The bowling side by India didn't left hope. They eliminated the England's whole team when just 6 runs were left. In this amazing way, India got the amazing victory.

It really baffles me that the Indian pace bowlers always perform way better when Jasprit Bumrah is not playing. India won two matches in this series, and Bumrah was absent in both of them. In the 5th match, it was mainly Prasidh Krishna and Mohammed Siraj who gave the win for India, with Akash Deep failing to pick wickets. Both of them leaked plenty of runs, but picked crucial wickets when it mattered the most. And the captain did the right thing by not giving the ball to the spinners.

They will do some experiments in home season and it would be tough job for selectors. Gambhir is big on all rounders so there is good possibility of Jaddu+axar+washi playing together and also kuldeep making a cut, which is necessary. These are your 6,7,8,9 spots, last 2 spots will be fixed for seamers.

-kl did good in last 2 series but at home he could be a floater, they could even try him at number 3 or middle order, just to accommodate new guy.
- Sai and Easwaran will have a toss up for Top 3.
- Gill is set at number 4
- competition for number 5. Pant is fixed if he's fit, apart from him competition is between Iyer, Sarfaraz and Jurel, outside chance for Nair, although I don't fancy him at home.

Lot of it depends on the combination like if they want 3 spin bowling all rounder+ kulee + 2 seamers or 1 seamer ( in that case they can add 1 more batter in the playing XI).

LOL.. after this disastrous tour, you still fancy your chances for Nair? Personally I believe that younger players such as Sai Sudarshan or Abhimanyu Easwaran should get a chance. Also, looks like Shreyas Iyer will come back to the squad. So where to accommodate him? If Rishabh Pant is fit, then including Jurel in the squad can be tricky. Also, is there a need to include Kuldeep in the XI when we have Jadeja and Washington? And for opening pair, as far as I am concerned Jaiswal-Rahul is fixed.

Outside chance for Nair because you never know but likes of Iyer/ sarfraz are strong contender at subcontinent.

Jurel is backup keeper so he will get in the squad every time, not sure about playing XI but at the same time, he's no mug with the bat, he's much better choice in comparison to some new batter in the squad or team. Also he hardly did anything wrong in the test cricket same as Washi/Axar. In some scenarios, Pant could also get in as pure batter.

Quality wrist spinner is like your spin version of Bumrah so kuldeep is necessary at home, i would argue that even in SENA and it's pure bad luck because India focus more on allrounder in away tours for bat deep strategy.

Good analogy. What I don't get is the fact that Kuldeep can also bat well though not as good as Sundar and Axar which is why it's odd that he's not getting any well deserved chances at all recently.

Jadeja and Ashwin together took the Indian test team to a whole new level which is why it's clear that they are trying to search for such a combo replacement and Kuldeep keeps getting shafted sadly.

India bowlers did their job well and were under more pressure than the England batsmen to show their spirit. If England middle order batsmen like Jacob Bethell, Jamie Overton and Jamie Smith had been more responsible in scoring runs they could have kept the match in their favour. These three batsmen failed to score double figures which was a shame and a poor performance for the team. I think among the Indian bowlers in the match, Prasidh Krishna and Siraj worked hard for the team to win and their contribution to the victory was more than that of the batsmen.

If England batsmen had batted with patience the result could have gone against India but England middle order batsmen and lower order batsmen performed badly compared to expectations.

Yes , you are right. England International cricket team could not handle pressure of last wickets and we always saw that kind of situation when Indian cricket team made pressure in a match and won the match at the end. The game was in the hand of  England team when they had 4 wickets in the hand but one spell changed the result of this match and we saw excellent result of that match. Middle order of England team gave good performance in this match but end players could not play well in this match and we match in the side of Indian team when England team needed 6 runs to win at last wicket.England team lost this match of which they were winner and Brook was a person who made century in this match.

We should not come into conclusions just based on the scoreboard, the condition is the key and based on that Indian batters made an excellent effort to put the runs on board and also the bowlers did the job pretty well then what is wrong is Indian went with 3 seamers that added workload which is why there's debate if they went with 4 bowlers then the results could have been much easier. Either way, India won the match from losing position and ended the series in a dramatic way so GG will survive from criticism but there's definitely need to look into the tactics and playing the right combination that will balance both bat and ball.

Although I will not change my opinion because the first innings definitely influences the result of the second innings.
But I will not completely disagree with your argument because the pitch in this match was very friendly for fast bowlers and difficult for spinners. There were two spinners, neither of them could take a single wicket, and at the same time their bowling economy was higher than everyone else. Anyway, India finally won this match, that's the reality.

Dude was so nervous throughout the match which is why he probably aged a couple of years within a few days. Am really proud of the way India managed to draw this series against all expectations, but I did have some issues with a few players from both sides.

For example, there is the dumdum Akashdeep who physically touched Duckett after getting his wicket unnecessarily. Imagine him trying that with someone like Brook or Stokes.

Well.. agreed on Jurel. When Pant is there, Jurel will get in to the squad as the reserve keeper. But he will not get the chance to be included in the playing XI. On Kuldeep, the fact that he can't bat will hold against him. Nowadays, everyone is expected to bat. Look at Akash Deep. He got the advantage, because he can bat a bit. And this gives him the advantage over players such as Arshdeep or Mukesh Kumar. But then, Kuldeep, at the moment is perhaps the best spinner available in India.

Although India's victory was very difficult, we enjoyed watching this match and we actually did not think that the fifth Test match between India and England would be so exciting. Usually Test cricket is not so exciting, in this Test format, usually two teams get the opportunity to bat twice and this game ends in five days, in that case, naturally one team can perform poorly and the other team can perform well, due to which the margin of victory or defeat is always very large, but England and India have proven that even if Test cricket is a five-day game, there can be excitement here.

Kuldeep 's batting average is relatively better than usual tailenders, he's still tailender but not the worst with the bat. He's genuine wicket taker so pros outweigh the argument.

Arshdeep is yet to debut so it's a waiting time for him. Mukesh might get a chance but only when front runners are resting or injured.

The Zimbabwe needs to improve their batting. In the last match they were all out at 149 and 165 runs and that put them in the backfoot right from the beginning. If they could bat a bit longer, maybe they can give some challenge to the New Zealand team.
