I am surprised to see that Australia are failing to take a lead in the first innings. England could only manage to score 172 runs. If the Australian batsmen had only tried to stay at the crease, and could have stayed at the crease, they could have taken the lead. But Australia lost their ninth wicket for 121 runs. Despite having experienced batsmen like Labuschagne, Smith, Green, Head and Carey in the squad, Australia is not able to score even 150 runs. This is sad.

There is no experienced batsman at the crease. Perhaps within the first 5 overs of tomorrow, we will see the end of Australia's innings. England can at least take a lead of 30/40 runs. However, if they want to win the match, they will definitely have to give a decent target to England. If they can give a target around 250, England has a high chance of winning.

Yes, you are right that there are many records in the past of both teams being all out for such a small number of runs in England and Australia matches. The first Test of the Ashes series will largely depend on the batting in the second innings, meaning if England can bat well in the second innings then England will win the first Test and if Australia can bat well then Australia will win.

I thought Ireland would lose the second match by an innings. Even though they lost 5 wickets for just 94 runs. Lorcan Tucker played a much-needed innings of 75 not out. Also, Ireland were able to score 265 runs in the first innings due to innings of 46 and 49 runs by Doheny and Neill respectively.

Bangladesh are batting well in the second innings too. Although we always see poor performance from the top order of this team, they are playing well against Ireland. Bangladesh managed to score 156 runs for the loss of 1 wicket. Joy got out for 60 runs and Shadman is still at the crease with 69 runs.

In my opinion, this was the most interesting performance from Ireland's batting performance from the first Test match so far, because according to the match stats, Ireland was losing wickets so quickly at the beginning, they were not in a position to cross 180 runs, but from there they continued to try to get their lower order, maybe if the top order batsmen could have taken a few more runs, then maybe they could have reduced the lead from Bangladesh's first innings score a little,,,, but ultimately Bangladesh is the strong opponent here, or as the host.

In my opinion, this was the most interesting performance from Ireland's batting performance from the first Test match so far, because according to the match stats, Ireland was losing wickets so quickly at the beginning, they were not in a position to cross 180 runs, but from there they continued to try to get their lower order, maybe if the top order batsmen could have taken a few more runs, then maybe they could have reduced the lead from Bangladesh's first innings score a little,,,, but ultimately Bangladesh is the strong opponent here, or as the host.

Absolutely no doubt Ireland make a Great comeback out of no where, mostly expect Bangladesh to secure that victory by an innings and few runs because at that time Ireland were looking terrible and were loosing vital wickets of thier main player, but some lower order took stand and changes rest of scenario and expections for Bangladesh, no doubt it will be an easy victory for Bangladesh because they were already ahead in term of lead and once again at second innings trying to build mountains. Hope things will be done smooth for them.

Yes it is very exciting low scoring game in Ashes Test since both teams had bad batting performance on Day 1. England had been bowled out at very low runs of 172, but Australia had not made most of this, being at 123/9 and making lead in minus. Due to this, game now completely rests on second innings, team that gets good total and bowls accurately will win game. Match is already on fast pace with 19 wickets already lost in few runs and is certain to end on Day 3 or Day 4 and therefore next day is most important.

Quickly backtracked on number 3 experiment and drop down washi to 8 again, atleast that's what  team roaster is suggesting. Poor Axar, he can't get a break in home. Seamers are considered labourers in red ball but spinners are third class citizens in this game, always first to get axe despite doing everything.

Gambhir doing Gambhir things , if he wanted to bring sai he could've swapped him with Gill but he had to bring Reddy who wasn't even with team just 2 days back.Axar is way better batsman than reddy especially in these tracks.

yes, these toss now starting to get into creepy category  India have won like 3-4 toss & 2025 is about to end.

It is the day one of the second test match between India and South Africa. India is bowling first and is surely looking for early wickets just like they did in the previous match but they had lost that game and this was very disappointing for them. They can also recover that loss by winning this game and the team has the ability to do so.

Jasprit Bumrah on the very first over as usual, he gave four runs for free extras. However, I was thinking that when South Africa won the toss, if they bowl first would not be a bad option just because after the analysis in the previous game, their bowling is so good as compared to batting and same for the team India.

In tests, finding Ashwin's replacement was a must and only washi fits there. He's finding place in playing XI but they don't show much confidence in his bowling, he underbowled in England and didn't get to bowl in the first match.

Toss is a curse for every indian skipper, kohli and rohit also used to lose all the time and it not funny when you lose 14-15 on trot.

When Zak Crawley got out on the very first over by Starc, wonderful catch by him but after that Ben Duckett and Ollie Pope making partnership, both are doing good work that just hitting fours and prefering to the strike rotation as comapre to hitting, but still I think both are playing with too much strike rate only if you think with the mind set of test player. However, Australia also has to try different bowlers, right now only three bowlers are doing a combination of overs. Also try to spin attack Nathan Lyon, in the previous innings, he got runs that the pitch is not too good for spin attack.

Agree , Sai actually scored some runs against West Indies so don't know why Gauti dropped him in 1st test , hopefully he will be given a long rope atleast play him next full series.Finally got the 1st wicket ..bumrah with a beauty.

Btw England have lost 4 wickets for 18 runs in 2nd session  Boland finally coming to party & another faliure for Root , he now avg less than 30 in Australia.

Yup. They just lost Ben Stokes now. England at 88/6. Starc has picked 3 wickets so far in the second innings (in addition to the 7 he had in the first), and Boland has also joined the company with 3 wickets after the disappointment during the first innings. England has a lead of 128 runs at the moment, and they need to extend it to at least 180 to have a fair chance in this match. But given the fact that they have Jofra Archer and Mark Wood as no.10 and no.11 respectively, I am not too sure about it. Jamie Smith is still there and he needs to add some runs with Gus Atkinson and Brydon Carse.

I think I must add that Batting at top 3 in SENA and india is different ballgame.

In SENA it's tough because of seam and rather easy in India. Similarly batting in the former condition is relatively easy when in middle order but tough cookie in India because of spin choke.

After drawing series in England. I thought we might have a good shot for another WTC finals but atm things are looking tricky and need at least 7 wins in the bag. Let's see...

Today is the second day of Ashes, half of the game has been already done yesterday. It is the second innings of England team and they were already in lead 150+ runs and when they came to bat, they lost a single wicket very early of Zak Crawley, in the first innings he also got out on the duck and once again on duck and both of the times by Starc. I think if he is struggling to play against Starc so he may come later in the innings or just play the ball that comes onto the wicket and leave other balls in the start.

However, Bangladesh are performing well in the second innings as well, scoring 156 runs for the loss of 1 wicket so far. So far Bangladesh are leading by 367 runs, if Bangladesh sets a target of 450 runs then it will be enough target to win. Yes, Bangladesh is going to win this match, and will win the series 2-0.

Bangladesh has declared the 2nd innings after having a lead of 508 runs. They have given a huge target to Ireland. There are almost 5 sessions left of this test match. I think it is more than enough to take all the wickets of Ireland. But the decision of declaration has surprised me a bit. Mushfiqur Rahim was not out at 53 runs. Bangladesh team decision makers could have given him more time so that he could go for another century in his 100th test match. Anyway, the pitch is too good for batting. Bangladeshi bowlers have to do the job properly now.

South Africa doing fairly well on day 1. Losing just 2 wickets in the first 50 overs while scoring 148. 40 overs to go for the day to end and they could cross 250 with wickets to spare. Should be a decent stand on the Guwahati pitch. This is the first every Test match in this stadium which becomes 30th venue in India that hosted Test cricket.
We'll observe something different in the order of play today as there'll be Tea break before Lunch. Usually, the tea break comes after Lunch but since Assam is an eastern state, they lose light faster than the Rest of India. The change was made to have sufficient light and playing time post Lunch.

yes , no series till July next yr & next home test series is BGT 2027.from feb to june we have packed schedule for T20s (wc then IPL)

Aussie already 60/0 , Head is going strong & with Pat/Hazerwood available from 2nd test i don't know how England even compete ..this might be end of Bazball & last series for Baz as England's coach.
