Pat Cummins is expected to sit out Melbourne, and potentially the rest of the series, with the Ashes secured after victory in Adelaide, meaning there is a vacancy in the pace attack. Brendan Doggett and Michael Neser, who took a five-wicket haul in Brisbane, played earlier in the series and would also be in contention to return to the XI but Richardson is very close to being in consideration.

It is unfair to blame Stokes, when the other players doesn't perform. If Stokes is removed from the captaincy, who else will be the captain? Joe Root is not very interested and I don't think that anyone in the current squad fits that role. So for the foreseeable future, I guess Stokes will be the test captain. They still have two matches remaining. The series is already lost as the Aussies won the first three matches. But they can add respectability by performing strongly in the next two matches. But in order to do that, they should make the necessary changes to the playing XI.

I agree, the worst top order and poor strategy led things to be unbalanced, and they failed to perform as a whole team against one of the worst Australian Ashes side alone Jo Root is doing decent performance while others are completely failed to perform as unit.

Now just 2 matches remaining, after these matches they have enough time to bring changes and have solid strategy for their test format squad, they need good and skilled top order and also have good bowling side which can keep things on level for them in any conditions and not limited to only for English condition.

I was expecting to see an ending like that. Still, I'm disappointed by the poor batting performance of West Indies. The pitch wasn't really too difficult for batting. Overall, it was a super batting friendly pitch. I thought this match would end as a draw too. But the irresponsible batting performance has changed the outcome of the match. New Zealand has won the test series with big domination.

Honestly most of us expect a horrible defeat from west indies before match, but the way they mange to scored such huge in thier very first inning convince viewers to think different and they really start to expect such out class performance from them to Atleast draw the results as kiwis were already have single lead so that draw might keep the competition alive, but like seriously with three golden such and four single digit contribution from player restrict them on 138 and brutally got defeat, although pitch wasn't that hard for batter to read but somehow they were off colour and that's why failed to set momentum early on and utilize condition.

Agreed on Jhye Richardson. Never liked this guy, and I don't know why the selectors pick him again and again. Why not Jason Behrendorff or Spencer Johnson? Also, Brendan Doggett and Michael Neser did a good job so far in this series and they need to be included in the XI. So where are they going to accommodate Richardson? Anyway, I have a feeling that the Australian selectors simply doesn't care. England can't win, no matter who plays for Australia. The morale is down, and team bonding is in tatters. And this is a worrying signal for the test cricket. Even matches between pig-3 teams are getting one-sided.

You have described it very aptly, particularly the way it fell apart and changed the entire direction of the game. What was shocking was a former 87 to 1 reduced with bowling to 138 on a good batting surface, and indicated a very grave want of application on the part of the West Indies batters. New Zealand has to be credited with it though because Jacob Duffy was excellent in the series and had all the right to be praised in his match winning spells. The top stability that Windies obviously lacked was also given by Conway and Latham. New Zealand has an excellent beginning in their WTC 2027 campaign due to this series win and the England tour will be the true test of their consistency. In the case of West Indies, it is alarming because the poor performance in the Tests is becoming a regular occurrence and it is casting serious doubts on the future of red-ball cricket in West Indies.
