If Australia could have collected more than 150 in the second innings and set a target of 200 +, they might not have been defeated. You are right that Australia scored low in second innings and that was main reason of their loss in match. England has to make 175 runs only feels much more confident since they know that they will win even when they lose few wickets in process. Yes if Australia put target of 200, pressure on the England players would have been much more and they could make some mistakes. Australia batted more strongly second time but it was not enough to make up for their poor performance in first part of game. Although England is not able to win overall series now, this win is extremely important to their team spirit since it is proof that they can still beat Australian defense. Yeap, It was actually a dramatic match, because to me, what seems more surprising than England winning is that the Australian team was all out in such a short span of time, even in the Test format, and that too in just two innings.
Anyway, the Australian team no longer has a chance to whitewash the English team, but the English team can only accept this victory as a consolation prize and nothing more because the Australian team has already confirmed their victory by winning three matches in this series, now it will be clear when they take to the field which team will win the remaining one match.

I was surprised to see that this Test ended on the second day, where the match was between two strong teams like England and Australia. Looking at the performance of the batsmen in this Test, it felt like it was not a Test match, it felt like they were playing an ODI match. England performed well in the second innings due to which they were able to win. Anyway, Australia won the first three Tests, so I thought Australia could win the series 5-0 and England would be whitewashed, but England won the 4th Test. Now England should try to do well in the 5th Test and try to reduce the margin of defeat.

Problem is there is no counter narrative, likes of Pakistan, bangladesh and srilanka has no standing but india should have done better in this regard. I still see, publication and media houses deliberately avoid confrontation/ tit for tat strategy, instead they copy paste these western outlets. That Naipaul quote is 100 % even today & not just in Cricket media ..you just have to look closer as how Indian Media is go gaga over western validation ..that's why you see debate on these indexes made by some western research centre where sample size is probably 1000.also it didn't help that western companies have huge stakes in indian media houses.

Your point about players being forced to change their styles due to difficult pitch was very good. Travis Head was quite mature as he played with more care with grounded shots other than trying to hit too many boundaries as he did in first innings. Steven Smith on other hand was left alone as wickets were falling on other end and this proved that one person cannot win game without partnerships. Since nobody could stay with Smith, England took their opportunity and won historic victory that ended dreams of Australia to have perfect series. At this point, England is very hopeful as they go to last game in Sydney, whereas Australia must somehow make their batting more consistent.

Both teams are facing troubles due to poor batting and bowlers injuries, but Australians were able to manage things on good level, this was their win in this series while England were not able to have things on balance due to worst batting and average bowling.

Travis Head, Alex Carey and Mitchel Starc done historic job and keeps their teams ahead of England which was never been able to done good job in first three games but in fourth game their bowlers done good job and gave them historic win at Australian soil after 15 years now this could be good motivation for them as they are preparing for last game of this series which is going to be played at Sydney.
