Not only is the New Zealand team strong with the champion trophy in front of them, but in all the major ICC tournaments, New Zealand has been the favorite and in every tournament, New Zealand has performed very well and in most of the tournaments, they have been beaten by luck in the finals. Since the Champions Trophy usually involves big teams, there is really no room for error. However, New Zealand will start the Champions Trophy as favorites like Australia and India. I have not seen anything to complain about New Zealand's performance against Pakistan and South Africa in the tri-series. As they have done well in bowling, their batting performance has been good enough so if they can play their usual game then they can easily play the Champions Trophy semi-final. Yep, In warm-up matches, Afghanistan and New Zealand played against each other. Afghanistan started playing with Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran with a partnership of 142 runs. Rahmanullah Gurbaz showed outclass batting scoring 110 runs. If Gurbaz hasn't scored a century Afghanistan couldn't set a big target of 305 runs because other players couldn't perform better. Afghanistan set a target of 305 runs with the loss of 9 wickets. In 2nd inning, New Zealand openers made a partnership of 80 runs. After the first wicket down, Mark Chapman showed a good batting. Daryl Mitchell and Matt Henry were not out till the end of the match. They chased the target with the margin of 2 wickets and 13 balls remaining.
