South Africa crushed England in first ODI and it looks like South Africa will came out victorious today also. England current scoring rate is 4.96 and required rate in 7.36, which is very much in South Africa favour. Even then South Africa must not relax because England still have eight wickets in hand and they need 246 runs from 34 overs which is very much possible. The beauty of South Africa batting today is that almost all of their batsmen scored runs today that's why South Africa gave a target of 330.

It was look like English side to make a comeback at second match, but I think still they are stuck beneath shadow of thier previous humiliating defeat by African, honestly it wasn't big target to be struggle while chased because they already done several but I think the momentum proteas got out them really ahead and the confidence English side lose some how predict the results early on. It's was so surpring because first they beat Aussies back at thier home and now English at thier home condition they are truly on fire. It's true that in both victories bowling side has played a huge role which should be appreciated.

England had a bad start with Jamie Smith being a golden duck on the very first ball of their innings. England did took control after that and was poised to win the game. 47th over was the one which made the game swing to South Africa's favor. On Nandre Burger's over, they lost two important wickets and were able to make just 3 runs. They tried getting back in the subsequent two overs but they were short by 5 runs in the end.

It was an incredible match. England lost by just 5 runs!! After seeing England's poor batting in the first match, no one  thought England would be able to score more than 250 in this match. Moreover, Duckett and Root's batting was very slow. Ben Duckett could   only score 14 runs from 33 balls. Even then, England scored a big score of 325 runs due to the excellent batting of every batsman in the middle order. But England's bad luck. They lost by just 5 runs. Whatever , it was not as one-sided as the first match, although South Africa had given a huge target of 331 runs.
BTW Congratulations to the South Africa team. They have already secured the series win by winning the first two matches of the three-match series.

It is really surprising to see England lose two matches in a row at home. England's cricket is also going backwards as the days go by. Basically, after winning the 2019 ODI World Cup at home, they are not in a good position, and even in ICC tournaments, they cannot do well at all. They have failed to show good cricket in the 2023 ODI World Cup and the 2024 T20 World Cup. Even in the 2025 Champions Trophy, they have not been able to win a single match and are out of the tournament. In recent series, they have not been able to do anything good against strong teams. Even though they had a chance to win a 5-match Test series against India, they failed there too. Now, they have decided to lose the series by losing the first match of the 3-match ODI series against South Africa. It is really difficult to accept such a decline in cricket in the country that invented cricket.

It was a close match, but even then the Proteas won. Now they are in the same league as the pig-3, I believe. That said, I don't discount the fightback from the England batsmen. Joe Root, Jacob Bethell, Harry Brook, Jos Buttler and Will Jacks all scored important runs. Jofra Archer also added some valuable runs towards the end. But it was simply not enough and they fell short by 5 runs. The issue of 5th bowler is proving a headache for both the teams. Aiden Markram and Senuran Muthusamy conceded 88 runs from 10 overs, while Jacob Bethell and Will Jacks went for a total of 112.

His individual stats are not that great, BTW. But now CSA has backtracked on their radical racial transformation targets and therefore I am not going to focus on that a lot. They have a well balanced team at this point, and the team bonding also looks quite good. The batsmen are in good form, and pacers are also taking wickets and being miserly. Keshav Maharaj is also in his career peak. And most importantly, they have a lot of players in their 20s, unlike the case with Australia. I am talking about players such as Matthew Breetzke, Ryan Rickelton, Tristan Stubbs and Dewald Brevis.

In red ball, if you look at overall batting unit of Proteas' then he's not misfit and does provide some assurance in the middle order and in ODI he's not that bad.

That's what I am saying. They backtracked on their racial transformation policy. Back in 2023, CSA announced that a maximum of 4 white players will be permitted in the playing XI by 2025. But for some unknown reason, they decided to scrap that policy. Now they have around 7 white players in their XI, in addition to 2-3 black players and 1-2 Indian players. Had they sticked to the original target, then none of this would have been achieved. Cricket is not very popular among blacks. Given this, it was a retarded move to reduce the number of white players.

England's batting performance was poor but they lost the match by just 5 runs. If some of the top order batsmen had played a little longer innings, they could have won this match. A 5-run margin is not a big but they batted under pressure and lost wickets quickly. If England's openers had done well, they could have won the match. Nandre Burger took 3 wickets with his medium pace bowling and Keshav Maharaj took two important wickets.

When they failed to win even in a winnable match, there is a big chance that England will lose in the last match. If South Africa can show their performance normally, they will win the last match as well.

True. South Africa are on fire these days finally and I never expected someone like Bavuma and average stats to actually turn things around out of nowhere. Him and Markram together are a superb combo.

They have plenty of great batsmen and fast bowlers, but Maharaj is the frontline spinner that they couldn't do without since many teams these lack such a high quality spinner.

I thought England would be all out before scoring 300 runs in the second ODI against South Africa but England really performed well against South Africa even though they came close to losing the second ODI. If there was another over left then this win would definitely have gone to England. South Africa have already secured the series by winning the first two matches of the series so now they just have to whitewash England. If South Africa can win all three ODI matches against England then it will be a big record for South Africa in the ODI series. Although the third match is a match to defend England's honour so England will try to perform quite well in the third match and by any means England will try to win the third ODI match against South Africa.

England teamm failed t0 chase runs and lost game by 5 runs and chased 325 runs. Nandre bowled great and he took down 3 wickets in 10 overs and gave 63 runs. Congratulations South Africa team won again.

Yes, the performance of the England team is very bad at the moment and they are losing their results, they lost the tournament badly against India and the loss in the ODI series against South Africa has tired them a lot. The match against South Africa was easy to win but they failed to fulfill it and lost by just five runs. It is really painful for the England team. The England team was once in the best form and they were always at the origin but their performance in the recent times has disappointed the audience. Of course, this team needs good players who are experienced and they need to be added to the team to take the team back to its previous position. Since their performance is not going well at all at present, they need to improve their game and select good players.

England made a good come back in second ODI after losing the first ODI in awful manner. When South Africa finished their innings at 330 runs in 50 overs, it looks like England will lose second ODI also. But English team surprised everyone by making 325 runs. Root and Butler both scored 61 runs for their side. England needed 16 runs in last over by that time 9 wickets have gone down and they don't have any recognised batsmen on the crease. Matthew Breetzke was man of the match for his brilliant 85 runs.

Markram is showing consistency in these days, he used to score once in a while but looks more responsible with his recent knocks and I believe this transition happened in between this IPL season.

And about Bavuma, we may not need a great player to become a great captain all they need is how to handle well in the pressure situation and he seems to be the best at it and removed the tag choker from them.
